  1. No idea. They said that they were doing name checks after her interview. Maybe they need to do more name checks on a new name? Why they don't do that at the same time as the other name checks, I don't know. Also, this office is really backed-up. Like I said, they'll never explain it to us. All we got was one sentence statements like "your case has been delayed for name checks."

Well at least we are not alone in this waiting line. Fingers crossed we will get our day assigned and scheduled to take the oath.

  2. My wife passed her interview on January 30th. Only about a month ago did we did in oath scheduling queue. Still waiting.

Wow, it's so long. Has she changed her name? Why is that taking so long? Some of my friends passed their interviews in March and were scheduled to take their oath in 6 weeks. They already got their US passports. We all submited our paperwork in the same State and the same USCIS office in Arlington.

  3. Just FYI did the IO explained to you that in order to have your name changed a judge has to approve it? And you do know how slow the judicial system works here, right?

Be patience, my IO actually told me if you want to change your name, you are looking at a 3 months minimum added to your oath schedule date.

Thank you for letting me know. I didn't know it would take that long when one wishes to change his/her name.

  4. I had my interview on April 26, 2012 and was approved. But, I requested a name change and I am still waiting for the oath ceremony letter. Have you had any updates on your case?

Hi there, have you heard anything yet on your oath ceremony date? I had my interview on May 14, 2012 and haven't heard anything yet. Also, requested a name change.

  5. I had waited for over 53 days after the interview - no oath letter - so I scheduled an InfoPass appointment.

They scheduled me then, for the next available ceremony in my area.

I suggest you wait for at least 45 days, then add another week, and then (if yo still haven't received your oath invitation) go for an InfoPass.

Hello there - is InfoPass appt in person? Have you gone to that time of appt?
