  1. The best thing is to carefully go over the embassy's list on this page http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html

You have missed something if he hasnt already paid. See the last paragraph on the page concerning fees, particularly the sentence about K visas.

    More on fees http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/iv_fees.html

More details on checklist items http://london.usembassy.gov/document_checklist.html#birth_certificate

Sorry meant to say MRV receipt. He already paid. Well I guess we have everything..

  2. Hello !!!

My fiance is having he's interview on Tuesday and we just want to make sure were not forgetting anything.

    Interview letter

    MRV fee

    Passport

    Birth Certificate

    Police Certificate

    Photographs

Affidavit of Support, pay stubs, taxes, letter from work.

    Proof of relationship

    Anything else ??

  3. Hi Vjers

I can't believe how the Embassy keeps adding chargers to visa fillers?? isn't it enough already ??!! Now starting on February 1st, every interview or visa granted from this day on, the visa holder will not be able to enter the US unless they pay a fee of $165.00. This is insane..everything is money, money, money. I just hope my fiance can get his on hand before this day.Sorry but I had to take this out of my system. Does anyone feel the same ???

  4. OMG OMG OMG!!!! I got an interview date!!!!

As I just posted my post a minute ago I checked my email once more and I had this response from the Embassy to my email back to them this afternoon:

"Thank you for your email. The required forms in your case were received and registered on December 20th 2012. An interview has been scheduled for you on 29th January at ####. Written notification of this date and time has been sent to you."

So I guess the email option has worked for me so keep pestering them everyone.

How long did you have to wait for a response after you send the email ??

  5. The embassy/extortion number is a call center in Scotland and not at the actual embassy. If you want to contact the embassy, you have to email them, but they require a specific code (available via the embassy/extortion number) or else the email gets deleted.

Hi leftcoast lady !! I have a question for you, I've been hearing about a code with an email, I called the extortion line about 2 weeks ago to reschedule my fiance interview as he wasn't able to go, at that time I was given an email but no code. Then I called the next day to ask for it and they said it wasn't necessary, but you now said that they delete any email without code..I'm really confuse !!

  6. I would go to the interview. Scan the I 1-34 and email it to him to show and explain what happened. I know at least one girl who did that and was approved with a scan. Worth a try. Wake your guy up.

I called the extortion line again, and they checked on the system and say it wouldn't be a problem if he don't show up to the interview as we called before to re-schedule. And that it will take up to 5 business days to received a reply with a new appointment day. But that I have to send a notarized letter with my intent to marry him within 90 days of he's arrival to the immigrant visa unit, or the case can't go further. Do you know the address from them ?? So I can send the letter ASAP..

  7. What is the paper that is missing? What do you mean your visa is expiring. Does he have a visa to the UK and must leave the UK in Feb? What kind of visa does he have?

Sometimes they don't answer emails for a few days. Its a new year, lots of holidays recently, and they may be backed up. Did you ask for a certain date or just say he didn't have all his papers?

People attend the interview sometimes without all the needed paperwork. They have to send what's missing along with their passport by the DxSecure courier to the embassy. Then the visa will be issued and returned by courier. But now you have attempted to cancel the appointment at the last minute, so that does mess that up a bit because you don't know if they have read the email and cancelled it or if it's still on the books. Try calling DOS and see what they have down as the interview date.

For anybody else reading this-- Don't send the DS-2001 Readiness form until you have every paper you need in hand in the UK. Then you will avoid a mini-crisis like this.

I just read in one of the post that besides de email they give u a code to add on the email ?? I didn't get anything.. God I'm so worried, if I don't received a reply it means we can't do anything ?? We lost our chance of an interview, or just with the automated reply we are safe until a new appointment is book.

  8. He have the I-134 missing, I thought I had send him everything, when we noticed it was missing I send it immediately on the 21st of Dec, its been in UK since the 29 but the post office hasent delivered yet. That's why we waited until the 2nd hopping he could it received it on time. I called and was given the email address but no reply from anyone besides the automated one. That's why we are so worry now.

  9. Hi !!!

My fiance was supposed to have he's interview tomorrow Jan the 4 th, but he can't assist since he was missing a paper.I send the paper on the 21 st of December, and I've been tracking it since then the package is been in great Britain since the 29 but it hasent been delivered to him yet. We waited until the last moment to re- schedule the interview, so yesterday I called the extortion line to do so, they gave me an email address to send all he's info, and received a new date, as of today no reply yet, just received an automated email saying it was received. My question is how long will it take to received a reply with a new interview date ? Our visa will be expiring on feb.we are really worried now. Please help !!

  10. The applicant she means is the one applying for the visa in London. The one attending the interview signs the emailed the receipt, no matter who the cardholder is. You filed a petition, which allows him to apply for a visa. I know...confusing terminology.

I called today to make the payment, and they asked me for my fiance passport number. Is that correct ?? Why they need the number for ??

  11. It's USD$240. You pay via the "extortion hotline" -- 09042-450-100 if you're in the UK, 1-866-382-3589 if you're in the US. Be sure you receive the MRV receipt as you will need that for the interview.

Do they send me the receipt by mail or by email ???

  12. Hello !!

I just called the Department of the State to verify the status of our application, and they said my fiance interview will be on January the 4th and that he should be receiving the letter with all the info by the end of this week. Perfect !!! but I haven't pay the visa fee or send him all the papers he will need for the interview yet. where I pay the visa fee ??? and how much is it ?? any help will be greatly appreciated.

  13. Booboo Monkey, like others said... Once your fiance gets his k1 visa approved and he arrives in US he will have stamped in his passport a i-94 stamp with an expiration date (at the port of entry).

He will have to marry you within 90 days of his arrival. Once you married and as soon as possible try to gather all the forms and documents to apply for the AOS (adjustment of status) which will include the forms to get the EAD (employment authorization), the AP (Advance parole) and then GC (green card).

Usually when you apply for AOS, the petitioner will receive first the EAD and AP . The AP is the document that will allow him to travel abroad and return to US while the GC approval still pending. He can not get out of US without having the AP document or GC. Maybe he can visit UK for 1 month or so.It's not recommended to leave US before having applied for the AOS and preferrely having received the AP document otherwise USCIS will consider he abandoned the AOS case.

About your question, he can NOT go back to UK right after you both got married otherwise will not be allowed to re enter US. He needs to get the AP or GC in order to leave the country.

More info about what its required for AOS is in this link

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

    Good luck.

    Thanks...

  14. He will be able to stay in the U.S. The purpose of the fiancé(e) and spousal visas is the beneficiary is showing intent to immigrate into the U.S. He will not have to return to the U

Once you have submitted the adjustment of status paperwork and have received either the advanced parole (AP) document or the green card, he will be able to travel back to the UK and be able to re-enter the U.S. If he leaves before having either document, he will not be able to re-enter the U.S. You will then have to restart the process by petitioning him again using the spousal petition.

If he has a job that cannot be transferred to the U.S., then yes, he will need to quit. If he has a position where he can work remotely and the money is deposited into a UK bank, he can continue working stateside without having to wait for the adjustment of status to be complete. Otherwise, he will not be able to work in the U.S. until receipt of the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) or the green card. When you submit the adjustment of status paperwork, be sure to include the AP and EAD forms as well.

AP in this instance is referring to advanced parole, not the administrative processing/review.

Thank you soo much, u just answer all my doubts...

  15. When he comes on the K-1 he is making a commitment to marry you and make a life together in the US. After you marry and file for AOS also file for AP (and EAD of course). When he receives his AP he can leave the US and be admitted back in provided his AOS was not cancelled.

What my spouse did (arriving on a K-1) was take a leave of absence from his job and after he received AP he returned home, quit his job and wrapped up his loose ends there. This him more time to make sure what he had done was the right decision and that he could adapt to life here.

Sorry I still confused...what does AP stands for ??

It means, he have to marry me within the 90 days and stay until he gets he's green card ?? Or can he go back to the UK, I said a month after we get marry ?? and come back later after reciving he's gc ??

  16. Hello Vjer's

    here is my question:

after we get approved and my fiance come to marry me in the US, how long he will be able to stay ??? does he have to return back to the UK ??

I ask this because I've seen so many posts of people saying they selling theyre stuff and been transfer from work ?? is that after we get marry he cannot return to the UK ?? or he return and come back after AOS is approved ?? I'm sooo confused need some light with this... sorry if the questions seems dumb..

    thanks...

  17. Best answer coming up. hahahaha (I seriously do know a lot about this subject)

It's "free" for sick people. They do not have to do free shots because America says he needs shots to immigrate. Many NHS doctors will do them for free but I have also seen many report they charge. They can do that. Most adults need new shots so not finding record of his childhood shots isn't a big deal

He can get a K1 visa with zero shots. But once he gets to the US, they will cost a lot and a civil surgeon will have to copy them to a new form and sign off. People have SO MANY PROBLEMS with civil surgeons that you will cry if he doesn't take care of it now. The last person who asked me about this said the civil surgeon wanted $200 to fill out the paper PLUS the cost of the shots. I have a new private message in my box saying the civil surgeon filled out the sheet, but refused to sign. If you don't want to go through this trouble and expense, get it done now before his exam at Knightsbridge. It's going to cost you $1070 to apply for the greencard. You probably don't want to risk paying a doctor $200 more to fill out a form.

This is what he needs---THREE SHOTS. Read it carefully.

    1. Td or Tdap (or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS)
    2. MMR (if born in 1957 or later) If he goes to the medical exam less than 4 weeks after the MMR shot, then he doesn't need another no matter what the nurse says. She is wrong. But if 4 weeks has passed since his MMR shot, he will need a second MMR shot. This is because it is not safe to have 2 MMR shots closer together than 4 weeks. So if enough time has not passed, they mark the sheet "insufficient time interval" and that's good enough to get a greencard without the next shot.
    3. Influenza(a flu shot) because flu season started on Oct 1. He can get it at Boots, Sainsbury's, Tesco or anywhere that is offering flu shots. Find the cheapest place. Take the proof to the medical exam to be recorded.

Varicella You can't get this shot in the UK. That's not an excuse for a K1 because he can get it in the US before he applies for a greencard.(And then he would have to pay a civil surgeon to fill out a new paper. Not good.) He MUST tell them at the London exam that he had chickenpox when he was a little boy to get the shot excused.

So... 3 shots and say he had chickenpox. If he leaves out any of that, then he will have to go to a civil surgeon in the US. If he does it correctly, the the vaccination sheet from the London exam will be used for his Adjustment of Status (greencard).

My fiance had chicken pox twice, so he does not need the varicella vaccination, will tell him about the influenza one @ the places u say here, so the TDP and MMR will be the ones left. Thanks so much Nich-Nick.
