jaypeila got a reaction from Rachel & Tom in K1 visa approved
    Hi fellow VJers!
Had my interview last August 30 and finally got my visa approved.
I supposed most of you have already heard about the process which takes place inside the USEM. So I wouldn't go into the details anymore. I would just share some questions asked to me which might be helpful for you guys.
Questions from the Filipino interviewer were:
    -Who is your petitioner?
    -How did you meet?
    -Have you travlled abroad?
-Have you applied for a US visa before?
She took the DS forms, B-cert, Cenomar, NBI clearance, Affidavit of support, ITR and W2. Just that.
She also asked to looked at some of our pictures.
I finished biometrics and the initial interview at 9am. So all I was waiting for was the final interview with the American consul.
Here's the catch, after 9am, I finally had my interview at 2:30PM. CAN YOU JUST BELIEVE THAT? I was the last number called from all the immigrant visa applicants!!!!! Goodness gracious. I almost lost my patience and was at the brink of crying. But I just composed myself and continuosly prayed that all the agonizing time of waiting would be all worth it. Truth be told, God is always, and will always be GOOD.
So here it goes, final interview. Found out that my lucky guy would be a cute Chinese consul. After more than 5 hours of waiting, I have probably got rid all the nervousness gnawing me earlier. He asked me to take an oath and fired away with questions.
    -who is your petitoner
-tell me about how you met and how you became a couple
-have you ever been abroad and where
-what was the longest time you were out of the country
    -are you married
    -do you have a child
-do you intend to marry within 90days upon arrival in the US
-when do you plan to get married
Funny is, he seemed to be more nervous than I am.. He kinda stuttered a couple of time which I find cute.. haha.. don't get me wrong. I was just really amused at how he acted. He also asked me to do fingerprint scanning again because my fingerprints taken were rather faint. We did it for like 5mins and finally they got my fingerprints clear. It felt good that he kept saying sorry that I had to be bothered with the fingerscanning thingie, but of course i didnt mind at all.
So after that, he told me to wait for my number to be called again. Just that. he didnt say I was approved. But through the course of our conversation, there were moments he said, 'very good, alright " with my responses. And I felt good.
And finally I was called at 2go's booth... I had an inkling i got the visa, but somehow can;t feel totally relaxed until I hear it from the staff. She checked my papers in front of me. returned my appointment letter and said verbatimly: "ok na maam, pakiantay na lang ung visa nyo sa haus..."
And then i can breathe... that was quite an experience. I don't wanna dwell on the fact that i was the most unfortunate to be called last but then what the heck, i got approved. God is always good.
So to those who are about to have their interview: just be confident, truthful and patient. And oh, I was not asked any other docs during my interview but I brought everything. So what they always say, better be overprepared. There were some who were not issued the visa right there and then due to sufficient papers.
There, good luck to the rest of my fellow vjers here..
6094. Btw -- this was my bittersweet yet LUCKY number combination.
