  1. My (Fahad) Interview was today 17th of January 2014, everything went well all answers all pictures everything was fine. But i have been put into AP, after they told me that, i notified them that our daughter will be born on the 17th of Feb exactly one month from today and if it is possible that it will be done before that, they said its highly unlikely but it should not take more than 3 months as our case is fine. I don't know what to do.

  2. Aoa, i Recieved a little bit ago this email, can you help me understand how long approximately it will take before i am given an interview date.

    Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing
of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner
and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment
until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of
the interview. Additional documentation requirements if applicable can be referenced at
    the following URL: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3742.html

    Sincerely,

    Director
    National Visa Center

  3. Hello everyone,

I the petitioner have submitted almost all the required documents NVC needs for the case. Now it is the TIME period that can make one impatient. I am just praying and wishing NVC gives us an interview date soooonnnnnnnnnn...............God knows better though!

Any idea how long they take before scheduling the interview? I filed my husbands case last year Augut 2012 now its been more than a year.....I tend to get worrisome and ofcourse desperate for the case to get completed.....hopefully soon INSHA ALLAH !!! God is Great !!!

Also the reason for the delay is cause i went back to Pakistan and stayed for quite a while but now i am back in the U.S.

  4. I am prepaing the I-864 packet for my husbands visa. My friends are like doing it on your own is difficult and i can maybe miss something out. The attorneys charge alot of lump sum fees so I have been calling NVC daily and asking things so i am able to prepare the packet myself. Is it important to get an attorney for this or one can do it themself??

Have most people done it on their own or hired a lawyer???

    People give me advice....

  5. I am the petitioner and gathering information on filling out I-864 for my husband. Also i have a co-sponsor who filled out I-864. I am the agent of the case and doing everything on my own which is why i am confused about the form.

On the form first page under "MAILING ADDRESS" (2.a) do i have to put in my USA address or my husand's?Keep in mind that i am the CHOICE OF AGENT on the case.

Also what about on the co-sponsor I-864 first page on the form under "MAILING ADDRESS (2.a) does the co-sponsor put his address or the applicants which is my husband?

I am trying to wrap up the packet so please help and guidance is much appreciated!

    Thank you,

    Fahad & Navin

  6. Hi, our I130 was approved on 15th April 2013, my wife (petitioner) was here with me in Pakistan when we received the approval. during this time we had shifted to a different city. The wife to get a job and to be able to sponsor me went back to the States beginning of July 2013 and found a job by end of the month. She is currently making $24,000/year. We have decided to file the docs to NVC now. We did the change of address right after we received the i130 notification, so far i have not received the packet from nvc, is it important ? or can i find the forms online fill them and email them to my wife so she can send them to NVC.

Also, we are pregnant now :) expecting in Feb 2014. My wife's tax returns for the past couple of years aren't good as she was mostly with me in Pakistan but right now her yearly income amounts to $24,000. Will we still need a co-sponsor.

Any help would be excellent. Thank you all.

  7. That wouldn't work b/c in order to sponsor financially they look at current income. So if wife (USC) does not have a job she must have $66,000 in a US bank account or a joint sponsor. If she does work then her yearly income needs to add up to 125% above the poverty line. Not her income for the past year, the income she will make in a year if she were to stay at that current employment. I hope that makes sense.

hmmm, 125% is fine for the past three years BUT not for 2012, the years before that she was making well above the requirement as i stated above, if she is to go back and gets a job and works there permanently for lets say 4 months, will NVC consider that ? or will we have to wait for the whole year to get the tax returns for 2013 ?

  8. technically, you have a year per thing (there are two things, AOS and IV)

    at NVC.

Don't forget cash assets, aye? If the USCitizen Petitioner has about 65,000 usd in a USA savings account, that meets the requirements of the I-864.

Interesting point on the cash assets, lets say we have somewhat 1/3rd of that and the wife is working. Ah well its gonna get too technical now. She has worked only 4 months in 2012 but regular before that plus we have someone money saved up, then what ?

Wait i am just figuring this out in my head, last 3 years that would be 2010,2011 and 2012. We have enough for 2010 and 11, and lets say some money required for 2012 and 4 months of work which would be good but not that close to the requirement of I864 for 2012. So if she works a few months and is good with 2012 and meets requirements after doing the math, do we get approved ?

  9. Alright got that, but what if we dont have primary or joint sponsor and my wife is unable to travel at the current time. Is application denied completely or can you show that you have enough money to start your life in America, or will it be imperative for the wife to go back and work for a few months.

i say get an ISO the next time you call, and ask for casefile status and location.

Then ask if you have been pegged for a local interview or not.

    Then let us know !

    ISO's are important, see ISO - http://www.dhs.gov/files/publications/gc_1305658440339.shtm

Case file in Houston office, the ISO told the wife that she may or may not have an interview, was not direct.

  10. So here it goes, I (Navin) filed the petition for Hubby (Fahad) in August 2012 and received NOA1 around the same time (See Timeline). I have not yet received my NOA2 (Just like the rest of you lot). I came to Pakistan to be with my husband in October 2012 and currently living here. I check the case status daily but sigh!! no change. I have called customer service 3-4 times during the span and they tell me that I might have an interview in Houston (my residing city) by February 2013. The issue is that I am living in Pakistan and will not be able to make it back if they call me for an interview. I am stuck in a limbo also because if I make it to the interview they will ask about my pay stubs and prior employment which I don’t have since I quit my work and went to Pakistan. Either way they will delay my process since I am unemployed and wont be able to have a co-sponsor. What to do, What to do. Advice Please. Let the discussion Commence
