  1. Hi... my Fiancee Is from Poland and currently residing in the United Kingdom. She spent a total of about 4 years in Italy (Florence and Rimini).... we went to Italy a couple weeks ago, and while there we went to request her police certificate and "the Certificato Generale del Casellario Giudiziale." We received the police certificate with no problems, but they said they could not issue her the "Certificato Generale del Casellario Giudiziale" because she was never an official resident and never took out a loan or credit card for example.... I dont even think she was on a lease contract for the flats she lived in...... she did work though at a few places....... This cert is to show that she has no outstanding debt or bankruptcy etc... has anybody had any experience with this? any help would be appreciated because the US embassy website says that this form is required from people who have resided in Italy for longer than 12 months.... thank you for any responses

I'm going thru the same stuff right now and I would be happy If u could share your experience with getting those certificates? Where did u get them from? Did u just unexpected arrived there and did all the paper work there? How long did u wait for those certificates?

About your question: Maybe just request a statment from them that ""Certificato Generale del Casellario Giudiziale"" could not be issued?

  2. From Polish embassy:

"All applicants aged 16 years or over must submit a police certificate from their current country of residence and/or nationality if they have lived there for six months or more. Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year. A police certificate must also be obtained from the police authorities of any place where the applicant has been arrested for any reason, regardless of how long he or she lived there."

    From USA Travel State:

"Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)"

I wrote an email to my embassy asking about police certification and they sent me this: http://poland.usembassy.gov/poland/police_certificates.html

I would advice you to get certification from all all countries that u stayed for more than 6 months, just in case they ask for it.

  3. ciao!

I requested it from my city Tribunale. You may call them and say you need a casellario giudiziario and go there with the "marche da bollo" and documents requested. If I am not wrong it takes two days to be issued. Good luck

Thing is that I have to get those records while being abroad, so I was hoping I could do everything thru mail :)

I know, for sure, that this VJ member http://www.visajourney.com/forums/user/128592-clairegio/ had to get one from Florence recently. Why don't you send her a message from that link to her profile I gave you? She might be able to help you with that.

Thank u for help, I just messaged her!

  4. Hi all,

I've got a big problem and I can't really find a solution. I'm currently applying for a K1 visa and I started to gather all the necessary documents. I need to get Certificato Generale del Casellario Giudiziale from abroad and I can't find any clear instruction how to do that (what application to send, what are the fees, what should I attach, where to send)

This website http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=8984 isn't helpfull at all since It doesn't provide any instructions and the linked website is in italian(not possible to translate using google). I tried sending mails to Italy but they don't respond. Even an italian friend didn't know what to do, she just said that Italian bueocracy isn't that advanced...

I would be really grateful If someone could help me with that!

  5. Thank u for help!

First of all, quote from the embassy webstie:

All applicants aged 16 years or over must submit a police certificate from their current country of residence and/or nationality if they have lived there for six months or more. Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year. A police certificate must also be obtained from the police authorities of any place where the applicant has been arrested for any reason, regardless of how long he or she lived there

So true is that I don't need this certification. Why I wrote I stayed there so long? I just simply didn't remember, it was quite a while ago and I traveled a lot.

I made an effort. I checked all the stuff on Italy on the USA embassy website but the thing is that Italians don't respond to emails I send to them and their website is just in italian, it doesn't even allow google to translate it into english. Thing about Italy is that they don't speak english. So yes, it's difficult to obtain those documents while being abroad.

Anyway thank u for response, I think I'll just prepare a new g-325a and admit that i made a mistake and gave them the corrected one. I'll also do my best to get those certifications from Italy. I was just concerned that the person who will interview me won't even feel like listening to me and deny me because I made a big mistake and won't even give me a chance to explain everything. U all know how stressful all this stuff is :)

  6. Hi!,

I think I might have a problem. When I was filling g-325 for the K1 fiance petition I made two mistakes. First mistake was that I didn't write down one of my past employers. I also stated that I stayed in Italy for 14 months, but the true is I didn't stay there for even a year.I'm not really sure what to do, because they require us to collect criminal records from all the countries that we lived over a year so should I try to get those criminal records (it's almost impossible to get them) or there is a chance they won't even ask for them since I'll have to fill DS-230 before my interview and once again write down my residency/jobs from last 10 years. Do people in the embassy even look on g-325a or they just care about ds-230 and ds-156? I might have a problem If they will notice that I wrote different things on both applications? Is it even possible to explain them what went wrong?

I'm kinda freaking out so I would appriciate any help/advice.

    Cheers!
