    Hello all! Congrats to all approved recently. Good news, we also got approved!

    Our story: We submitted an e-request on 8/11/16 as soon as USCIS posted processing times for VSC indicating we were past the expected range. We had an 8/28/15 filing date and their website claimed to be processing 8/31/15, although we had heard nothing since biometrics. We received a response email from USCIS on 8/23/16 stating that we had been approved as of that date. We had also submitted a request to our senator on 8/12/16. We received an email from that senator shortly after hearing the e-reply from USCIS, although the senator specified we had been approved 8/19/16. Our case status on the USCIS website had not changed at this point. We received the official ROC approval letter on 8/24/16. It stated the approval date was 8/19/16. We finally received the green card in the mail on 8/30/16. Our online case status began reflecting these changes around the time we received the 1st official approval letter.

    We were never interviewed or RFE'd. For anyone still waiting, I highly recommend submitting an e-request and also reaching out to your senator's office. It will force USCIS to at least look at your case. We suspect, but can't confirm, that e-request led to quicker approvals both during our Adjustment of Status and now during our ROC.

    When to file dilemma

    I'd file as soon as possible, but I am interested in what others have to say regarding this. I think you have strong evidence as is with the joint bank and other accounts. Be sure to include tax transcripts. You can explain in a separate letter that you both have been living at her parent's place.

    I think getting your place in line is the most important thing, and RFE or no RFE, the sooner you apply the sooner you will be done with this stage of the process.

    Received 2 year Green Card in the mail on Saturday 11/30/13, 7 days after application approval. No errors on card. Approval notice/receipt arrived the same day in a separate envelope.

    Glad to be finished with USCIS business for 2 years. Visajourney has been a tremendous, incalculable help throughout this process. Thanks to everyone on here who helped us on the way. Although we had some long waits in there, we never had any trouble with our applications or interviews and I think that we can thank Visajourney for showing us the way to do things right. I think Visajourney is a great example of human perseverance. Strangers sticking together to help each other get through their common difficult situation.

    Received text and email on Saturday 11/23/13 @ 2:45pm saying Card production had been ordered! Almost done for 2 years!

    We never received an interview waiver letter but we were approved without interview.

    We submitted an e-request on 11/16/13 regarding long processing times. We received a reply letter on 11/20/13 saying that they could not provide a window for processing and that our case was still pending consideration.

    No idea if the e-request was related to the approval time but we are happy about this result.

    Have to say, it was very discouraging to see people getting interview-waived approvals within 3 months of applying for AOS simply because they lived in an area where the local office wasn't overloaded. Not the people's fault of course! Just don't understand how USCIS developed such an inefficient system. (cases should not be processed geographically, there should be a single queue for the whole country) We were in the NYC system - our e-request letter and biometrics appointment were at the Long Island City office. AOS took us nearly 7 months from mailing it in to the approval date. I'm aware many people have it worse, and I hope their approvals come soon.

    Anyway, good luck to everyone still waiting! We'll post again when the card arrives in the mail.

    Indeed. Very similar dates for AOS. You'll probably get a waiver letter any day now. Is your case still in acceptance online also?

    Yes still in acceptance. I saw that they recently updated the processing times for NYC on their website, claiming that on August 31st they were processing March 8th NOA1s for AOS, and I believe on July 31 they were processing Mid-January dates. If that is true and they are moving at a steady pace that should put our dates right about now in the processing window. Of course, I keep my expectations low.

    Another NYC filer here. We had an NOA1 for our AOS on May 6th. Fortunately the EAD/AP card came this week. Our I-485 case is still in the acceptance status, not in initial processing, which is not encouraging.

    I find it a bit bizarre though that in the May filers thread there are people from other parts of the US who have received interview dates already, when from what I can tell my fiance can expect several more months before even receiving a date simply because we are NYC residents. It boggles the mind that in this day and age USCIS still processes AOS applications in the applicant's local office instead of putting all applications into one queue distributed evenly around the USCIS offices of the country via some kind of network/database. Where you reside in US should not effect the processing time of the case.

    Sorry to hear about your very long wait. Hope it is all over soon.

    Case changed to "Testing and Interview" 6/20 ....

    I guess the Interview will be before EAP ... MY LUCK !?!

    Congrats on the exceptionally quick processing - I find it quite amazing. Does it all have to do with the regional office how quickly this happens? Ours hasn't even changed from "accepted" to "initial review" despite having completed our biometrics appointments already. (New York City office for us)
