Well, we decided to go ahead and get the passport sent to my spouse's home address. Embassy told us it would take 10 days if we needed to pickup the passport. We knew it was a BS answer but we were in Delhi for only 1 more day so we didn't want to take any risk.

The passport was delivered in a week to my wife's house.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the passport with visa back after approval from Delhi embassy? We applied for CR1 visa and I will be picking it up from Delhi VFS location.

Is it either same day or next day pickup?

Thanks for that. The gentleman looked up my information and confirmed that I had already chosen a pickup location of Jalandhar. I asked him if I had to print anything from the website and bring to the interview, and he told me to "read the directions". He wasn't very helpful.

Yes, at the end it will give you an option to print a pdf document. You will need to bring that to the embassy with you.

What did you press to get into touch with a human being? I just go in loops with the automated system.

Update: For those going through this process through Delhi embassy, I had to call the service rep at (1 310 616 5424) phone number to make it work.

So when my spouse has to fill out the customs form at POE, what would she answer for Q15?

She only plans on bringing her used clothes and personal stuff (nothing commercial). The total would probably be less than $700. Will a duty be charged on these goods?

Q15: If you are a U.S. resident, print the total value of all goods (including commercial merchandise) you or any family members traveling with you have purchased or acquired abroad (including gifts for someone else, but not items mailed to the United States) and are bringing into the United States.

I am trying to register my wife on that website but it doesn't look like it's funtioning properly. Can anyone help with what they did on that website?

I agree. Never thought there would be a time when I would eagerly wait for the weekend to be over. You and I have similar timing at NVC. I am also hoping to have the case complete this week.

Hello AKSinghSingh79, If you are applying for CR-1 visa then your sponsor should know all this because this is done at NVC. US VFS does not except documents unless it is directed by the US Embassy/Consulate. Your US Citizen sponsor submits all the reqiured documents with the NVC who actually schedule your interview after receiving all the required paperwork. NVC process your I-864, Visa fee and accept your Visa form DS-230. Applicant takes his/her passport, Medical Report, Police clearance from the Passport Office and local police authority. Make sure you take two US passport photos cause sometimes they ask for them. At this time you take your proofs to accomplish a bonafide relationship with your sponsor like wedding photos, photo of any party where both of you joined, airline tickets, hotel booking, letters, greeting cards, prints of e-mails. I hope not but if the Visa Officer ask you to submit more evidence or documents then you can submit at your local VFS office with the letter they give to you at the time of your interview.

Keep in mind this is all material but the facts would be the response to the visa officers questions. Visa officer did not ask for anything from my wife other than questions. We carried the bag of photos and everything we possible had. Hope this will help and Good Luck with your interview!!!

If we submit the original PCC to NVC (with the IV packet), does my spouse need to carry another one or would the copy of the original one suffice?

Is it OK to ship the AOS packet before it shows as "paid" on the portal? I paid the fees on 4/1 and the transaction shows in my bank account on 4/2 but the website still has it under process.

I ended up shipping the AOS packet yesterday (4/3) with the cover letter printed from the payment portal. Hope it's not an issue.

What about loads of I-130..they haven't transferred that..

just approving later applications from august, sep, oct, nov to make their avg time look fine....

FCFS..seem like they never heard such thing.

yeah, it is very frustrating that we had to wait while people who filed afterwards had their cases transferred and started receiving approvals in 3 months.

Hello everyone! I have not commented on this Forum but have been keeping up with it almost daily and thank you for all that you post. This has been a very long 8 months. But being Canadian, it is easier for me to travel to see my spouse than it is for most of you.

I know you don't want to hear this, but I received notification of approval today (Feb 25, 2013). My NOA1 date is June 29, 2012. Just received the email and am jumping around doing the happy dance because I wasn't expecting this until late March based on how things have been looking. So, I wish you all fast approvals.

Has anyone here had a case where the beneficiary from India was able to visit the US while their CR1 (or even K1) visa paperwork was still in process?

I know some people have been able to do it but they were all from countries that offer VWP. Just wanted to know whether it's worth trying or not.

Does anyone know how I can contact (i.e. send letter) to David Garner from Office of Performance and Quality? Not sure if my letter will do anything but it is ridiculous how they are treating June and July I-130 filers at VSC.

This is crazy! We have been waiting for more than 6 months now for NOA2 with at least 3 more month waiting time for NOA2 and now they want more money? I am so f#####g p#####!

Other people are getting approved quicker (who applied after me) and that makes the process that much more worse to bear. I paid the same fees as everyone else, so I don't feel a bit happy when others who filed later are getting approvals because some egg head at USCIS doesn't understand FIFO.

It would have made more sense to route files to local service centers for people who have been waiting since May, June and July then to reroute new applications.GRRRRRR!!!

And looking at the trend chart, In july they had 56,771 Imm Rel I-130's pending.

Completions: Jul, 7171 Aug, 7423. Sep, 6674. Oct, 5754. Nov, 4840. And assuming they kept some what the same speed - holidays in Dec they maybe completed 9000 applications in Dec & January. So there's still about 16000 applications left. So at this pace we can expect to hear from VSC somewhere around april

And I seriously hope I got something wrong looking at the graph and it is a shorter time in reality.

Unfortunately, April time frame is what I estimate as well. At this rate, I will probably miss our first year marriage anniversary in July.

in 2009, and 2010 I was unemployed and did not make much money. Around the end of 2010 I found employment (my current employer) and my 2011 tax return shows enough income. My question is this: Should I just send 2011 instead of the last 3 years? Since NVC give us a choice of sending either last year's or last 3 years return.

I would say send the 2009 and 2010 records as well and a letter explaining that you were unemployed during those periods. Also, send recent pay stubs (past 6 months should do) and a letter from your current employer saying that you are currently employed at their company. This should be sufficient.
