Hi, EEEEK! Our K-1 visa expires in 10 days! We just married this weekend and are filing the license tomorrow with the county. However, a certified certificate of marriage will not be available for a few weeks. Does anyone know if you can include just a copy of the signed license in the adjustment of status application or will that just result in an RFE/Request for Evidence???

The I-131 form instructions specifically state you need to provide a statement warranting the issuance of advance parole. Does anyone have a sample of a statement from an application which was approved?

I have the same question! My fiance does not have the flu vaccine and one of his vaccinations was recorded on another paper but not the DS 3025 worksheet. I wonder if we should err on the side of caution and see a doctor here and have the I-693 filled out there.

I wanted to know if anyone would graciously share a successful statement for the advance parole request for business travel reasons. I am looking for a sample of a letter which actually resulted in receipt of advance parole. My fiance needs to travel for business purposes.

Well, I guess I will just have to be hopeful!

I am currently unemployed and do not meet the Affidavit of Support guidelines to sponsor my fiance. My fiance from London can support himself and that is how he got here. How do we go about filling out the Affidavit of Support for the Adjustment of Status application? I imagine we both have to fill out a separate one.

Another question for you - I am almost done with a draft of my adjustment of status application and am confused about what to include as far as medical records and vaccinations go. My fiance got his medical exams and vaccinations done in London and has a US Department of State Vaccination Documentation Worksheet and a Knightsbridge Certificate of Immunization. Do we just include these forms in the Adjustment packet or do we have to find a doctor here to fill out the I-693 form ??? It's pretty confusing.

how long is it currently taking for USCIS to process adjustment of status application (I-485) from K-1 applicants? I am located in California and would appreciate any feedback from your personal experiences. Thank you! I am excited to get this underway!

Hang in there. My fiance is from the Middle East ethnically and we were placed in AP twice in the K-1 fiance visa process. It probably took 2 months longer than it would have without AP, but we still got him here within a reasonable amount of time (9-10 months) which is not far off from the norm. Just be patient. It is part of the process these days....

We are still stuck in AP (for the second time - once with NVC and now with the embassy)...we are awaiting a response on our case but the 4 month validity of the USCIS approval for our I-129F petition is coming up within 9-10 days. Does anyone know how to request an extension???

My fiance had his interview this week and the consular officer "refused" the visa (as opposed to denying or approving it) and told him to send in his passport and an older version of his birth certificate in through courier. Does anyone know what this means? He also may have said my fiance needs to come back to the embassy later. So confused, so frustrated, so heart-broken

That's good news Charlotte that they have confirmed receipt. I'm sure you'll get your interview soon! We still haven't had confirmation of receipt our packet 3 and its coming up to a month now this Friday...

Hi Charlotte, I sent our forms at around the same time and had it tracked and someone signed for it. I too have called the US number and the UK numbers wondering why its taking so long. I keep getting told the same thing. That it takes 2-4 weeks to process the forms to send out an interview. And that when an interview is scheduled then the system is updated. Did they advise you to resend the forms??

Hi, Everyone!

My fiance and I have prepared all Packet 3 forms and supporting documents and obtained a medical exam in preparation for the interview. The embassy says it send out our Packet 3 but we have not received it. The embassy said it is waiting to receive our Packet 3 materials back.

My question is: we want to send in the materials to the embassy before we receive our P3 letter but what exactly do we send - the DS forms and the supporting docs (i.e. birth certificate, evidence of engagement etc) or just the DS forms. The DS 156K says to attach the supporting documents but the embassy website just says to return the DS forms.

Also, does anyone have a recent copy of their P3 letter from the embassy in London?

My fiance received a "no trace" on his Police Certificate from England as opposed to "no live trace" - However, on the US Embassy website for London, it says in RED letters:

"If the police certifiate [sic] states "No Trace" or "No Live Trace", please be prepared to discuss your arrests/cautions/convictions with the consular officer on the day of the interview."

Is this a mistake because I thought "no trace" means there are no arrests/convictions/cautions or other criminal history?!??!?
