  1. Hello all members,

First of all, we want to say thank you to all because you have been huge help in our journey.  It is the time to seek great help from all members of this great community again.

We filed I751 on November 2016.  However, there was an issue with our check and we received a letter from USCIS said that they would send our case to "Burlington Financial Service Center" to sort out the payment.  In the letter it said, we would received an invoice with an instruction of how to correct.  We haven't receive any followup letter from "Burlington Financial Service" center and it has been over 2 months.  Below is our time line and progress of our case.

    • I751 filed on November 2016
    • 12/05/2016 -> Received "Application Received notice" from USCIS along with EAC number.
    • 12/31/2016 -> Finger print appoint letter received and appointment date was 01/19/2016.  The EAC number on this letter is different from the previous one.
    • 01/06/2016 -> Recieved another letter from USCIS that "Burlington Financial Service Center" would contact.
    • 01/19/2016 -> Went to finger print appointment.
    • 01/20 -> 02/20/2016 -> We started contacting to USCIS because we haven't receive any follow up e-mail/ letter from their financial center.  We also contacted to "Burlington" directly and i was told they couldn't do anything without invoice.  We tried to reach to Immigration officers via phones and it took several fustrating attempts.
    • 02/21/2016 -> We finally reached to Immigration officer.  The officer told that he couldn't see information about our case.  He said that he would make "service request" and would receive a mail without 2 - 3 weeks.

At this point, my wife an I have no idea how to proceed.

Can anyone please help/ advise how and what should we do?  We are really desprate of any helps and would be really appreciate!

    Thank you,

    Julie and Simon.

  2. I think there are plenty of us non-UK/Canadian/Irish people out here waiting with you. Maybe we just are less vocal/active on this thread since we've already had plenty of experience with the lack of rhyme and reason from USCIS. I can still vividly remember seeing one or two non-expedited I-129f petitions being approved in a matter of weeks at the same service center where most petitions languished for months and months (when we applied, it was Vermont).

I couldn't agree you more. We've had so much experience with USCIS backlog for I-129f application in 2013. All application I-129f 2012 Dec was transferred from Vermont to Texas and that was crazy moment for all of us. Most applications took about 10 months to be approved. I feel VJ is information sharing portal with many virtual friends from different countries who always help and motivate each other for a long hard journey.

  3. ........just checked it out! I'm a bit envious. Lol. Ugh, they got approved 2 weeks ago and are so close to our dates. I truly hope we hear something by the end of October. :)

    I am following your timeline!

    Hi all,

I am a bit nervous too . My potential letter dated with July 10. My status still acceptance since 1st of April. Did you guys make a call to USCIS during waiting period ? Thanks.

  4. On 25th October 2013, we finally got approval on my Immigration Visa. I collected my passport on 29 October and cried a little - who knew a tiny piece of paper could cause so much emotional turmoil? We officially leave for the US on 20 Dec 2013.

I wanted to start this forum because I realised our progress didn't really fit in the timeline and I wanted to reach out to any Singaporeans who may have any questions at all. Not knowing is really the worse.

Thank you to all the active VJers who have posted information up - it has been incredibly helpful for my husband and I. We haven't been very active on here but would like to contribute where we can.

    Congratulation :)

  5. Hi All,

We have some questions regarding "Intent to marry" letters. It was so strange and we've never seen or heard it before in VJ. My fieancee approved visa on OCT 18th in Singapore. The interview process was very smooth but the consulate didn't take our intent to marry letter. My fieancee didn't notice on the spot and noticed couple days later. So here are our questions.

    - Has anyone seen/heard/experienced this kind of situation?

    - Was it possible that the US consulate SG forgot to keep them?

    - If anyone had experienced this situation, what would be next steps?

    - Should we contact to US embassy in SG and ask them?

All answers and discussion are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!!

  6. Hi HK031812,

Hope that help. All the best to you :)

hi Vj friends! My interview day is coming soon.. Can anyone help enumerate all checklist pls? Im afraid i might have missed something.. Kinda nervous gosh! ??

  7. (Beneficiary here)

Medical exam was attended 2nd Aug. We found out expiry date from a computer printout that the CO (in Singapore) handed to me to verify details (he actually only said, please check your name/passport number/etc to make sure they are not input wrongly)

That means that my medical is only valid 4 months, and yes, we found that out at the embassy during the interview. This gives me roughly 2 months to pack up and leave the country.

Thanks for the reply! really appreciate it.

  8. Welcome. There's no expiration on any of the medical paperwork that I can see, perhaps it is on documents sent directly to the embassy. See Jay-Kay's response in this same thread, I believe she answered the question on the variance.

    Hi Dwinge,

Thanks for your reply post. I checked your Interview experience post and I have a question regarding visa validity. Maybe I'm confused. In your responding post (above) you said you didn't see any expiration dates on medical paper.

However, In your previous post (http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=12779) regarding interview/POE experience, you posted "I clarified the 2nd Nov expiry with him, he said I could get another medical to extend that deadline. @_@ Omg!! ".

So, did that mean: you found out your expiration date of medical examination at Detroit?

Based on your previous post, seemed like you already knew your expiration date at Embassy.

I think i'm missing something here.

Don't take us the wrong way. We just want to find out how many months does medical examination has. I read through Jay-Kay's responds and normally it has 6 months, but based on your posts you have only 3 months.

    Thanks!!!

  9. Hi dwinge,
First of all, Congratulation for your approval and thanks for the interview experience in "Feedback and rating" section. I also confused for medical examination validity.
Even though medical examination could expire in 6 month, it seem like 3-4 months for other k1 applicant's experience at POE.
I don't know how they stated the date in the sealed envelope after approval. When did you take your medical examination and is there any expire date in medical result? Thanks.

I'm trying to figure out the length of time before the medical examination/ K1 Visa expires. I have found seemingly contradictory statements on the DOS website, I can not find any information regarding a 'length of time' for the medical exam and there is nothing to indicate expiration on the medical exam paperwork. On the DOS website is this:

"An immigrant visa is usually valid for up to six months from the date of issuance unless your medical examination validity expires sooner, which may make your visa valid for less than six months. You must arrive and apply for admission in the United States before the visa Expiration Date."

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3743.html

However, on another page an apparent contradiction:

"With your visa, you can apply for a single admission at a U.S. port of entry within the validity of the visa, which will be a maximum of 6 months from the date of issuance."

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html

Does anyone have knowledge of where to find the facts?

  10. I arrived on Friday the 13th at the Detroit International Airport. Let me tell you the little bump I had to overcome.

So, I was at the immigration counter and the officer looks at my paper. Asks me a few questions. Looks at the paper and then calls on his walkie talkie: Supervisor needed for K1 at counter 38.

Supervisor: Do you know that he can send you back to the Philippines right now? You were supposed to be here in August.

Me: calm blank look while praying...

    Supervisor: Where were you?

Me: I was in Singapore, working.

Supervisor: You were supposed to be here in August.

Me: Well, look. (Pointing to my passport) My visa was issued in July and I have until next week to be here.

Supervisor: No, look (pointing to the I-129F). This (Feb approval stamp) means you can get married. This one (passport) says you gotta get here. Now, you have to get married within 3 months or else you have to go home.

Me: Yes, I'm getting married on the 4th of Oct. Thank you.

Lesson learned: Be calm. Explain your side. And I really don't think that the approved I-129F means your K1 visa is approved.

    Salamat_sa_Diyos,

First of all, congrat and welcome. And so sorry to hear that you were treating by some idiots. What I didn't get is, i thought visal (normally) valid for 6 month. Based on your message, did you get only 3 months of validation? Is this new law?

    Thanks!

  13. Thanks so much Jdseidel . That was helpful and we both are single. :) Appreciate your help.

Download the Fiance(e) Letter of Intent (2nd file) at http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples. You need to sign it and mail it to your USC fiance to mail back to the TSC. They need your actual signature so a scanned copy will not be enough. You don't need anything extra unless there are extra circumstances regarding your situation, (for example if you are getting a divorce and need to show divorce papers). Just the letter so long as your single and have nothing preventing you from getting married.

  14. I'm DEC filer from Vermont (was transferred our case to Texas in May 2013) and just received the RFE (hard copy). It says:

"This office is unable to complete the processing of your petition without further information. Please provide an original statement from the beneficiary establishing her INTENT TO MARRY you within 90 days of her admission to the United States. You may also submit copies of any evidence she wishes to submit to establish her mutual intent to marry."

I am beneficial here and my finance is USC. When he sent NOA1 , he signed only from his side in "Intent to marry letter" and sent. There was no signature from me . That might be what the RFE is asking for.

What we would like to ask is :

Do we need to submit additional document for any evidence along with "INTEND TO MARRY" letter? Any of you received same as our case?? All advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  15. Hi all,

Another RFE filer here. We received our RFE hard copy today. It says:

"This office is unable to complete the processing of your petition without further information. Please provide an original statement from the beneficiary establishing her INTENT TO MARRY you within 90 days of her admission to the United States. You may also submit copies of any evidence she wishes to submit to establish her mutual intent to marry."

  16. Hi delreb1,

My RFE is same as yours.

What I would like to know is whether you sent additional document along with requested doc ("Intent to marry letter") ? Thanks in advance for your help. All the best in the rest of your journey ! smile.png

My RFE was because I did not send in a letter of intent from my fiance, only one from me. I had hired one of these "I will help you and guide you every step of the way to your visa approval guys. Before I sent in the application, he had me email it to him to check for errors. I did and he wrote back that everything looked good. Then I got the RFE for no intent to mary letter and when I wrote him and asked him why he did not pick up on this, he said he never heard of the beneficiary being required to submit a letter of intent. That caused us a delay that should never have happened. He is the one that was the self professed expert. This guy took my money and when I would email him with a question, he would either ignore it, or answer me with a "smart ####" answer. Talked very nice to me until I paid him. If I had known what I know now I would never have hired anyone, especially this guy. I know that I could have done it without him. The guy I hired was ezvisa.com.

  17. Hi All,

I'm DEC 17 filer and just received the RFE (hard copy). It says:

"This office is unable to complete the processing of your petition without further information. Please provide an original statement from the beneficiary establishing her INTENT TO MARRY you within 90 days of her admission to the United States. You may also submit copies of any evidence she wishes to submit to establish her mutual intent to marry."

I'm so disappointed and depress. However, I'm happy that our cases are not forgotten.

    My questions are:

    1. Does anyone know what kind of evidence that I should submit? (I originally submitted engagement ring invoice and all email communications shown that she said "YES")
    2. In RFE said "an original statement from the beneficiary". Does this mean original mail (hand written mail with the post and not an email)?
    3. Does anyone has idea what more evidences that i should submit?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!!!!
