I really need your help!.

After K1, We filed the AOS I-485,I-764 in Jan 2013 ( Jan 14 priority date ) and she got the EAD in April, but we didn't not get any interview letter for green card,

Its almost 7 month. Online status shows 'No Case' found. we called the USCIS......they have all the information and biometrics info but no info when they going to send the interview letter

We are getting really worried..any body else in the January Priority date.

You're welcome! I just sent my AOS so pretty fresh abt all this preparation process! Hoping that I included everything, despite following VJ's guide.. and checking 3zillion times...!

I did include duplicates of my bio passport page + Visa+I-94 and 2 pics, each with every form (EAD & AP) Altho I only sent one certified marriage certificate. I sent an original because copying it, the word "void" was appearing on the copy. I know some people on here got AOS approval even with that, but I didn't want to risk it. If your certified marriage certificate copies fine, then a copy is 100% ok!

I am also sending EAD/AP document but I have a question about this also

1) Should i have to submit duplicate (2 copies) evidence for I-765 form, like K1 visa stamp, I-94, 2 extra pictures

2) I sending copy of Marriage Certificate (not the original certified copy ) ? is this going to be problem or should i have to send Certified copy ?

One more thing , on all these forms they ask for A# (do the K1 visa holder should also write this number), I know this number is on NOA2 but this is not the green card so should we leave this blank or put the number from NOA2 letter ?

I am going to submit I-485 for my wife and I need your help to clear following questions (Please help me !!!):

1) On Marriage Certificate, she had my last name now, so i am going to submit the I-485/EAD etc for new name , Did I need some other proof of name change ? I didn't go to the Social Security office yet to update her name on the SSN card.

2) Should I submit the copy of I-94 (Departure and Arrival Record), not the original?

3) Should I submit the copy of NOA 2 , not the original?

4) I-864 , is this form has to be notarized ?

4) Vaccination Report has to be original or a photo copy ?

5) I have following docs for her

I-485

K1 visa and I-94 -copy

Marriage Certificate -copy

Birth Certificate -copy

Vaccination record -copy

From Sponsor:

I-864 (not notarized)

Naturalization Certificate - copy

Tax records -2012 - copy

6)Apart from that i have one more Confusion , i do not want to confuse you also !!

In her K1- visa , they merge the first name with middle name (with space) so the given name is now combination of first name and middle name

, Officer from SSN office told me that they can not correct the name on CARD,we have to contact the USCIS first. anybody experience with this kind of

situation?

We are in the process of Filing her AOS very soon.

I know ,to travel outside the country she needs a travel document, but what about inside the country ?

Is she can take domestic flights inside USA ? anyone with this kind of experience ?

court to get the marriage licence and wait for 3-4 weeks to get the actual marriage certificate in mail

so to file the CR1 case , can we consider CONFIDENTIAL certificate to save some time and file the paperwork right after marriage ?

Here is the solution, I talked to the VFS rep

1) Create profile

2) Click on 'Schedule Appointment'

3) I have to go through 'Schedule Appointment' and add the Delivery address but leave the other parts like interview Date (We already had a interview) and fees receipt...... just exit after that. it will save the delivery address.

Interview for K1 is done in New Delhi and they ask us to create a profile on

I created the profile and but where to enter the Address ? I take me to the Schedule Appointment link and here when i click on the return deliver address link form the home page

Is any body has experience getting married in California ? I mean how to register for marriage ?

1) Even you getting married from a religious place/person, Are u still need a Marriage Licence from court to get married ?

2) What form you need to send for AOS/AP/EAD ?

3) Court told me that "You get your Marriage Certificate in 6-8 weeks" , did we have to wait for 6-8 weeks to apply for AOS/AP/EAD

4) Is there any link you can direct me to get the help for post K1 visa interview approval.

please check the checklist below of the documents which i am sending to India to my fiance

1) signed and notorize I-134

2) Notorize Intend of letter

3) Employement Letter

4) Bank Letter

Do i need to send original which i send while i submit my I-129f exm like: birthday cards, receipt of sending mails or etc....

Right, I sent the original boarding pass and receipts etc.

Looks like Mumbai is doing a good job for sending Packet 4 , you submitted the packet 3 on 08/25 and got the interview. Good Luck!!

Did you try to call DOS to confirm Packet 3 receiving by Embassy? I did that today and It left me nowhere when I get to know that they are waiting my response about Packet 3 which I forwarded on Aug 8th and also got a confirmation email from VFS that they have forwarded it to Embassy. It really sucks that they are so careless . I have to send another copy of it.

Oh my god , same here, I am so mad.....i couldn't sleep all night, after looking at your post I called the VFS and they said "mail size is little bigger than 2MB and they send me the notification about this" , there is no email from them about this and i only received the auto confirmation.

and now they send me the email about size , I can not believe this is happening. I have to re send this again and now lets see.

We should keep updating each other, thanks for your last response. Lets see if we can get the interview in Sept (will find out on Aug 31..from new delhi website..), otherwise it will sure be in October.

Checklist is for Packet 4 not for 3. It will tell you which are the documents that need to be deposited at VFS a week before interview OR during interview e.g. Passport,BC, I-134, Police clearance from Passport office, medical report,DS230, DS156, DS156k, Other relationship proofs. For Packet 3 you have sent right papers, don't worry. By calling DOS, make sure that Embassy has received your Packet 3.

I will let you know as I receive date. I tried to write emails to VFS and called DOS today, Embassy has not scheduled any date for us yet.

Sept interview dates will be published on Embassy's website on 31 August. Its better to keep in touch with Department of State.

First: Complete and return immediately to the Immigrant visa section at the American Embassy the enclosed Form (Applicant Statement) and form DS-230 Part 1.

Second: Obtain the following documents on this checklist, which pertain to you. As you obtain each document, check the box before each item and return this form to the Immigrant Visa Section at the American Embassy, New Delhi. Do not send the documents to this office. You are required to submit the documents at the time of your interview.

1.For US embassy New Delhi Packet 3 includes two things: 1. Applicant's statement 2. DS230 Pt 1.

2.Make sure this scanned file is BELOW 2MB

3.After auto reply you should receive another email confirming that VFS has forwarded this email to Embassy.

4.I am also waiting for Packet 4.

It depends on case to case and what time u send. I heard if u send the packet 3 in the second week of the month then u will be scheduled the interview ASAP and packet 4 received in another a week. It happened in my case.

In general, once you send the packet 3, you will receive packet 4 in another 10 days or 15 and interview will be scheduled in around 40 days.

It's not necessary that u should get packet 4 because you can request packet 4 electronically after 15 days. They will provide you through email.

Update: 1) My fiance went to Chandigarh VFS office to Drop the packet 3 docs (Application Statement and DS-230 part1) , they did'nt take this and ask to scan the both forms and email it to VFS. (so now no option to drop it@VFS)

1) Is there a need to scan the checklist sheet and send it to VFS ? ( We only send the application statement page and DS-230 part 1 page )

2) We got the Auto Reply from VFS, should we also be getting any other confirmation for packet 3 email?

3) Last and very important question is How long it take get the Packet 4 after Packet 3 is send to VFS , please give some clue about this..some of our plans depends upon this.
