Hi, I want to file a k1 visa. I live in the US and the last time i've seen my fiance has been june 2010, which is 2 years and 3 months ago. I know that it is required for it to be within the last 2 years and im now starting to worry as i should have filed it earlier. Would I still be able to file a petition? Does it matter? Has anyone been in a similar situation? Should i hire a lawyer? any help would be appreciated for some peace of mind thanks
I think even though your not 2 years yet you can file K1 already....

Hello,
I am just wondering if any annulled beneficiary here can tell me their recent experience on the interview. Like what they asked, what they present, etc. Thank you
Your annulment decree or divorce decree is important to bring on your interview....

Hi everyone,
I'm a US citizen and my Husband is from the UK. We met and married while I was living in England. We were married in March 2012 and filed CR-1 in April. We hired a lawyer and the petition was filed in London. Just after we received his case number we decided it would be best since I am self employed to establish my business stateside in anticipation for his arrival. He came to New York with me on August 15th and stayed with me for 3 weeks until he had to leave to go back to the UK last night as his medical appointment is tomorrow. We've not spent a day apart in 2 years so less than 1 day into this distance thing we're in agony. 8-12 weeks to go (ish?)
I have a few questions and I was hoping I could gain some insight and some support. When you're side by side this whole thing seems easier but once that distance is put between you the gravity of what hangs in the balance hits you like a ton of bricks and it's almost crippling. It's coming down to the wire now, so naturally I'm genuinely freaking out. I want nothing more than to have my husband here with me but, it is what it is and all we can do is our best to get this thing right. Be forewarned, lots of questions.....
I am self employed (I have an etsy business). My first year (2011) made $11K. This year I've made just over $22K. But since the year isn't up yet I don't have tax returns to back this up. What I do have are official etsy 'shop stats' showing my earnings and paypal statements showing the incoming money each month. Would these be acceptable or are there other ways to validate this that I am missing? I also have a co-sponsor, my mother who makes $33k. We signed the affidavits of support before my husband's flight and he's dropping them by the lawyer whilst in London. I know the fact that I have a co-sponsor that makes significantly more than me does help however since I am the partner and principle sponsor is it possible they may view my self employment as precarious or not accept my earnings for this year at all since the tax year isn't up?
While he was here he managed to make such a good impression on my family that he was given a job invitation by my cousins business that's been in operation over 22 years. Is this something that they legitimately look at and take into consideration or is it one of those things that 'doesn't hurt'?
His medical appointment is tomorrow. About how long do you think we can expect between now and the interview?
I'm gonna be honest, I might think of more questions after I post this. Thanks in advance!

hi has anybody here had experienced the denial of I485 together with the EAD? I had been waiting for my green card and EAD to be in my hands anytime this month or next month coz i never thought they'd be denied. i dont know the reason yet for the denial but i've called the USCIS but the three people ive talked to said they did not have an access to the letter so i just have to wait for the letter which im expecting to receive anytime this week. I havent told my husband yet about this and i know he will be so frustrated about this. i was gonna freak out and couldnt believe at first when i read the status check online...but oh my.. what can i do.. i was thinking that was just a dream.. that i havent checked it yet and my green card and EAD is soon to come. lol..
i have not had interview..didnt receive any letter for that though. i had my 2 biometrics since they sent me another appointment letter after the first biometrics i had. i had my biometrics june 19 and july 16,2012.
what shall i do?.. i dont wanna be deported.. will i be?.. is the denial of AOS always have a second chance?like to appeal or send another or new I485 application?... i dont know what to do. ill just keep on praying everything will be fine soon.
another thing is if we file for another I485 would the processing time which supposedly should be 3-6mos to receive the permanent residency would take longer?since it's second filing?
i am convincing myself.. this is nothing and can be solved.. everything will be fine. hakuna matata.
and by the way.. i came to the US under k1 visa.
thanks in advance for the response.

Hello Fellows, this is my first post here on VJ.com,i am gaining lot of invaluable knowledge via this amazing place.i have a question for all the senior members and people who are on the same boat as myself. i am a beneficiary married to a USC and currently on a B1/B2 (in status),we did the concurrent filing of AOS a few days back and our PACKET was received at chicago on saturday AUG 25,2012 . my question is that i have not undergone any medical exam as yet and neither do i have any past immunization record.i have done a little bit of research , called a few authorized civil surgeons near my area(i live in a rural part of IL ),the nearest three surgeons are 2 hours from me and are asking different fee from $220 to $370.seriously ? ? now for the required immunization i have been looking the CDC web but not been able to know that what particular shots that i want(28 years).also , is it appropriate/cost effective,if i decide to go the local county health clinic to get all the required shots and than presenting the civil surgeon with my updated immunization record ? lastly , i would strongly condemn this unfair trade practice being conducted on civil surgeons part.they all are charging different amount of money for the Full medical exam,i have a masters in engineering and currently unemployed(waiting for my EAD.i cannot afford all this.i came across this other forum in which people were crying for being charged as much as $850/head for a full medical exam. USCIS must regulate the fee for these money mongers so they cannot exploit and take advantage of ever vulnerable immigrants.i work hard for my money and would reprobate this practice. Also, i would appreciate some information from the fellow members regarding
1) if its ok if i send USCIS my medical report after we have petitioned for the AOS ?
2) what exact immunization shots do i require(for a Male/28 with no past medical record) ?
3) if anyone have rather went to the local health dept to get the shots?is it a good idea ? what they charge (i have no insurance)
4) your comments about these so called civil surgeons working as a gang ?
i hope you guys will take some interest in my post and give/share your invaluable comments/experiences. good luck and god bless

The question is how are you going to support your spouse when you can't even support yourself?
Exactly lol
You said you're getting food stamps for your child? How old is your child? Is it possible that you are getting WIC benefits and not food stamps? Those are two very different systems, and WIC tends to have broader income guidelines (you will qualify even if you make more money), because they recognize that getting children healthy food is very important for their lifetime nutritional foundation.
If you currently make at or above the 125% of national poverty guidelines for your household of three (yourself, child, and incoming spouse), then you will qualify. Just make sure you provide the documentation that previous posters mentioned (pay stubs, letter from employer, etc.)
Good answer

Hi! I am really having a hard time getting a job here in hawaii.. I got my green card november of last year.. The problem is i dont have any job experience here..all i did while waiting for my card is to baby sit.. I am a registered nurse in the philippines. Now since early this year i was applying to many jobs here in the US but no luck yet.. I tried any job openings even those entry level jobs, even fast food chains or any store but no one called me back for good news. I am really getting stressed and depressed. Can somebody help me what to do?!
Thanks in advance!

Today when I check the page USIS, and I saw that they had changed my state, I was totally surprised, because my timeline was November 24. I'm too happy. I hope that everyone gets faster, visajorney friends.

So I submitted my I-129F yesterday and I made my check out to "USCIS" and then I read somewhere that I should have made it out to "Dept. of Homeland Security"! Will this cause them to send it back to me?

Afternoon,
Booked an appointment with my nurse to get an MMR jab as none of my records or at my doctors state i've had one even though my mother is adamant. Anyway, I'm aware that the MMR requires a booster jab after four weeks from the initial jab. My query is, if I get the jab next Tuesday and I get my medical within the 4 weeks will I be made to get the booster before my medical is approved? or will the forward it to the London embassy?
Also, if my medical is after 4 weeks from the first jab should i get the booster done at my doctors?
Thanks
Dean
GOODLUCK
