  1. Hey achiru, I got an appointment letter with date and time from Mumbai consulate without sending in packet 3. And to date I have not received a packet 3 or 4. From what I read, apparently the process changed only for Mumbai after September 27th, and you have to take everything with you the day of the interview and you don't have to submit anything to NVC since they will not be accepting any documents. Look around, maybe you will find something. People on this forum don't seem to respond to questions about the new process when asked. Good luck. Our interview is on Nov. 26th.

  2. Hi guys On October 11th I received a letter from MUMBAIIV@state.gov. I have included the letter below and taken out personal information. What is the next step? Let me tell you... all the numbers and emails i have contacted always provided general and useless information.

Since, I have received the email after the new process changes in Mumbai, what do I do next?

Do I still have to wait for or download packet 3 and send it to a vfs office or Mumbai consulate or email it to them (what is the email?)

Or do I just disregard all of the packet 3 and 4 stuff from the old process, and just fill out all the forms from the email and just take it in with me to the interview?

  4. hey any luck with the process? I have not submitted my packet 3 or 4 anywhere. All I have received is an appointment letter from Mumbai with an appointment date and time. What do I do next? whats next in the new k1 process? Did you register online already? You have to pay in advance to get receipt number and complete registration right?

  5. Hi guys. I received an email from Mumbai Consulate with my fiance's appointment

letter for her k1 visa with her interview date and time. In the

instructions it said to make an online profile. When I make an online

profile, it asks me to pay $240 for the visa fees through the various

options before I schedule an interview. I have a few questions. The

consulate website is very general, and not as descriptive.

    1) Do I need to call the consulate and schedule an interview again, even though consulate as you can see below said my visa appointment date and

    time is 26, November 2012 at 07:30?

    2) How come my visa appointment and case number don't show up on the month of November's scheduled interviews on the consulate website?

    3) How far in advance can I pay the visa fees? Can I pay a month in advance? What if the exchange rate changes? Can she pay in Hyderabad, and then take her bank receipt to Mumbai consulate on interview date?

    4) Can I pay cash at the embassy on the interview date?

    5) What about packet 3 and 4? I thought those were required for an appointment letter and to schedule an interview? More information about packet 3 and 4 would be very helpful.

    Thanks to everyone in advance!!!
