  1. Thanks! He was so tired that day. It probably helped to have someone to talk to. We are looking forward to him joining us here in the States! Is there a POE date for you, Sven? -Karla

  2. Oops, meant to say interview in less than a week. Oh, my addled brain!-Karla

  3. Interview will be soon, in a little over a week. Good Luck! My kids and I currently live in Montana with my parents. I arrived here a few days before Christmas. Maybe you can talk to Bjorn while you wait in line together in Stockholm. -Karla

  4. Bjørn has the same time. My guess is that is when the doors open. I will most likely be in the U.S. at that time, so I will not be with him at the interview. -Karla

  5. Have you received your interview date? Bjørn's is scheduled for January 14th.

  6. We got our case complete today. Any news about your interview date?

  7. Hopefully, you can get your interview before Christmas. Sounds like you are U.S. bound soon!

Bjørn has to stay and sell the house. It might be a few months. I will be moving back next month sometime.

  8. Congrats on your case complete at NVC! We have a RFE for Bjørn's Swedish birth certificate (Norwegian citizen but born in Sweden- I guess it confused them!). We hope that it will be resolved soon.

  9. I would call about your I-864. I just got off the phone with them and they said ours is complete and they are just waiting on our DS-230, which we sent via DHL today. I will keep my fingers crossed for you! -Karla

  10. The prodding seems to work. -Karla

  11. Carla and Sven-

How are you? We sent in our IV package today. I need to call the NVC today to make sure that they have received the I-864 stuff. It seems their employees need to be prodded to get stuff done! I called when I saw that your DS3032 had been received, and ours was sent in the day after yours, and within 12 hours, they issued the I864 bill! Hmmm. The prodding seems to w...

  12. I just went per instructions here and paid the fee online and printed the barcoded cover page once it showed "paid". We sent in the I-864W, the waiver form, because my husband has lived most of his life in the U.S. Don't wait for the "package", if the online payment system says paid you can send it now!

  13. FYI, our case was received by the NVC on the 15th. I just called and got our case number and gave them email addresses.

  14. We are planning to move back to the Seattle, Washington area. That is where we were before we moved to Norway. The climate is similar to Norway, but the Pacific Northwest actually has summers! I miss the sunshine and warmth of the summers. :)

  15. No, my husband is the Norwegian. And yes, he did serve in the US Marines. I am the US citizen (and the one not coping well with living in rural Norway).

My husband is also in IT. He works for in the IT department of a ship building company where we live.

That would be funny if you and Bjørn were interviewed on the same day!

  16. Where in Norway are you? We are just south of Ålesund.

I am not sure that there can be much more difference at the NVC stage and the time from the completion to the interview does not seem to vary either. So, it will be close. My husband served in the US Marines and he has yet to get his certified military record. -Karla

  17. I found it interesting that we both got the I-130 approved on the same day. We are both named Carla (mine with a K). I am living in Norway with my husband and 3 sons.
