  1. I went and I'm glad I did for a number of reasons.Just woke up from a nap my fiancés visa was approved this morning.I just waited in the waiting room pictured above. She was gone about 2 and half hours and said the actual interview was less then ten minutes.I wanted to go to support my future wife and make her feel more comfortable and in case for some reason they need to talk to me I would be there. It cost more money sure I had to take off work and tickets were not cheap 550.00 dollars roundtrip airline tickets each from Tijuana(we bought our tickets six weeks out). They really take advantage of the people cause there is only one roundtrip flight(on Aeromexico not a cheap airline) and any other options just to save a little over 100 dollars you have to fly to Mexico City or Guadalajara first which would add lots of time to a flight or I could we could take a bus which would not be fun and take me away from work her son for more days.My fiancé is originally from Monterrey Mexico which is an hour farther and we have been there four times and flown from Tijuana and four that price it paid for both of us and her son.So they are taking advantage at least where we live in Mexico for people going to Juarez for there visas.

I was glad I was able to support her help her out in anyway and be with her because of any worries weather it be regarding safety here in Juarez or if they needed to talk to be at the interview or to keep her company for the four days when we she was not at the medical clinic or the consulate.

We will have to stay in Tijuana another month before we can move to the USA though so I can earn more money for rent and the movie to San Diego,California but for both of us it was worth it that I went.

  2. I would bring it with you to erase all doubts. My fiancé asked them when she was checking in if she needed the email confirmation also but the lady helping her asked another lady and she said no and was good to go but she had it with her incase she needed it.Not sure if you went to the same clinic cause one could be different in what they ask fo but I would bring it because your going to have it for your appointment at the consulate,so you will have it with you anyways in Juarez.I would not want to lose my place in line because I had to go back to the hotel to pick it up.

  3. My fiancé needed her Mexican Passport and the invitation letter they sent in the mail to check in and get in the gate in the first place so she and myself could enter the building they did not ask to see my passport or drivers license to enter with her.She was then given a number after checking in with some info including hotel and hotel room number which they asked her and a number that corresponded with when she arrived so she got priority over others who arrived later this was clipped to the letter and passport. She was told to take this with her when she underwent the tests in the clinic. They gave both back but you need them again when you pick up the results at two in the afternoon then they return them back.

You can always check with the guard outside the clinic after he gets his fingerprints on Monday to see if anything changes but I think it will be the same as you said your appointment is a month away. Also not sure how the other clinic does this it could be different.

She said the people trying to get residency had an additional letter.

  4. Yeah no worries at all you can see both clinics when you exit the lobby of the hotel. It is less then a five minute walk when you exit the hotel and most of that is in the fenced part of the hotel. There is some people on the street during the day but they have a guard at the consulate. No one was bugging us too much in the morning.A few people asked if we needed any help in the afternoon when we were going to eat they were talking about fingerpritnts, clinics and the consulates but we just ignored them so they did not persist growing up in San Diego and visiting Tijuana,Mexico which I have lived in for the last four years it was nothing that would worry me it's typical of some parts of Mexico people trying to make money off anything just ignore anyone trying to help about your visit.

It was pretty cold all day today very windy and we used jackets.Monday was hot and windy felt like into the 90s.We got to the clinic international(which my wife read was better and recommended by the hotel guard out front,I told my fiancé she should talk to her Monday night when we went to get a snack at the extra across the street from the hotel) about 4:40 this morning there were about 7 people in font of my fiancé waiting.By the time 6 hit and they started processing people it was pretty full maybe more then 50 people between men and women at least being processed.I waited in the waiting room with maybe fourty others. They made all the women take off there jewelry so don't waste your time bringing it my fiancé does not ever really use it so that was no problem for her.

My fiancé and I noticed most people were there for residency not k1 visas. She was done a little after 7am.She said the nurse she had was pretty strict with her and the ladies kind of like a pushy police officer or a border agent who talks down to you and is rude almost rude. But she said the other nurses seemed nice as were the guards I saw and the people processing everyone it was just this one person she came in contact with. She said because she has two tattoos and is in her twenties the lady pressured her about drugs a few different times. But she does not have a history with those so no worries she was just asked to take a Urine test.We were thinking about this anyways part of the reason we came two days earlier cause her tattoos and be prepared if It took and extra day for this but it didn't and the results came with the results of the other analysis.

We left went back to the hotel went to sleep and came back a few minutes before two.The clinic was packed with people waiting for there results. They gave her a sealed black envelope a white piece of paper and a disc that looks like a cd.She was advised not too open anything and just give it to the agent at the consulate during her interview. This only took a few minutes.

The price for the exam was 210 us dollars. They accept us dollars, pesos or credit. My personal recommendation is to get there early like us so you can get out of there earlier likes us before five so you can get out of there faster and go rest. Also we noticed lots of people going for results at the other clinic so both were fairly busy.

I noticed you are also doing the ASC or CAS not sure about that as we did ours last Thursday in Tijuana,Mexico. But I heard it is next to the waiting room of the consulate which is just across the street from the clinics around the corner and another five minute walk maybe.

  5. I'm glad to hear that cause we're reserved at the hotel Ibis and have the ASC and medical exam on monday and tuesday before my Fiance's interview on thurs. Good luck!!

  6. You can have your asc appointment the day before your interview in Juarez. The SCS center is next door to the embassy. Everything you need is within a short walking distance to the embassy. I would plan on having your medical exam 2 days before the interview, because sometimes there are delays. The medical is also close to the embassy.

Yes everything is very close my fiancé and I are here at hotel ibis in Juarez just arrived a few hours ago from Tijuana. The clinics are right outside our hotel and the consulit is around the corner. Will post more as I see how things go.Her interview is Thursday and she is going to do the medical Tomorrow morning.

  7. Going to Juarez the second week of April with my fiance for her interview.Just curious for those who have been there what hotels have they stayed.

She wants one in walking distance to the consulit.

Also what is the price for a taxi from the Airport to the hotels run?

Also we hear Juarez is dangerous and lots of scams,so I'm curious is there anything we can do around town or any restruants we can hit near our hotels and the consulit that are safe.We live in Tijuana and she is originaly from Monterrey,Mexico so we are use to some of the stuff that you would experience in a border city or big Mexican city.

I've been looking online and the hotels are not too expensive so thats good I just want some more info before choosing one.

  8. Hello!

My case is still at NVC but my husband and I are wondering how long is it the time frame between NVC 'Case Complete' and the interview at Juarez consulate?.

We are hoping to get an interview by april perhaps if our case gets completed by the end of this month.

He will try to come over for the interview but that's not for sure yet, since it all depends of work load and his boss (he has the final decision at the end)so we want to get an idea of how long does it take.

How long did it take for you to get an interview scheduled? (after case was complete at NVC) Like a month? 2 months ahead?

Also, do they allow the US citizen to come in for the interview?

Thanks in advance for your answers! Any information is appreciated!

We got our case completed about a few days agi.We paid for the visa today and were able to get an appointment for the second week in April in Juarez.

  9. so you guys are saying we can call one of the numbers on the letter saying we have a case number in juarez interview so we can get ahead,so we dont have to wait for the packet to arrive if we follow those links and advice you gave.Just wondering what we do if we never get it before heading to Juarez if it takes too much time to arrive. From what I gather from your answers then the packet is just a letter with phone numbers and a list of websites and links with stuff to download and fill out and bring to interview.

What are the best times for my fiance to call them then

Thanks to everyone for all the extra info and tips also.

  10. My fiance and I were approved three weeks ago.We first heard from USCIS via text way back at the end of July so we have been patiently waiting like all of you also, but at least she is in Tijuana,Mexico so I was able to live with her for over three years and continue to work in the USA and see her and her son as much as possible so that makes the waiting way easier accept for the border crossing before my work.

My question is what is the current packet arrival time for people on this site.We got another letter yesterday saying Juarez has a case number for us and my fiance who I live with will be receiving our packet soon. Not sure what they mean by soon. The letter had a whole bunch of numbers to call but they charge. We wana know how long we should wait to call if we don't get our packet. Also whats the average time that the paquets have been arriving in.Also will it arrive in Mexico like they said or will I get something at my Moms address where the last two letters arrived in San Diego,California in the USA.

Also how long usualy is your interview scheduled after the packet arrives?

Before I know from coworkers and this site and things my fiance read on the net they gave you the date,But now my fiance is telling me you have choices is this true?

  11. Hey! My fiance just had his interview there this past Thursday. He received his visa in Torreon, Coahuila yesterday, so it was really fast! There are a lot of helpful reviews in the reviews section. I'll have him add his, too. If you have specific questions, I'm sure he'd be happy to answer them. Just let me know! :)

So then you don't need to wait for the visa to arrive in Juarez anymore? My fiance was telling me this.We live in Tijuana and she was saying it can just be sent to a DHL here now instead.I was just curious if this was correct.I would love to see your review we just got approved 3 weeks ago and recieved our letter saying we have a case number in juarez yesterday. They said they would mail the paquet to my fiance soon whatever that means/we both live togeather here in Mexico but I was using my Mothers address where I work and from in San Diego,California also and thats were our approval letter and the other one naming our consulet arrived.

  12. Yeah it would be cheaper to fly in the USA and Cross.

I'm gonna fly with my fiance from Tijuana to Juarez I live with her in Tijuana. The tickets are very expensive inside Mexico for Tijuana to Juarez almost five hundred dollars each even months out. They are gouging people cause the Consulit. My fiance is from Monterrey which is farther and we have made that trip four times and it only like two or three hundred dollars each for tickets and that's buying them in advance for peak season.

I looked into flying from San Diego, where I'm from to El Paso and its like 300 dollars. But I don't wana fly alone and meet my fiance there just to save 100 dollars after taxis,I wana make the trip with her.

I even thought of the bus,but she does not wana travel using the bus inside Mexico. Not to mention if we use the bus that more days I would have to take off work.

  13. And you can't file before the waiting period is up. That happened to a friend of mine on here. She filed 5 days before her waiting period was up and was denied, even though another 6 months had passed since then.

My fiance told me she was told by lawyers in Mexico that the law about the waiting period only affects you if you are to get remarried in Mexico not the USA.My pettion was sent back to me because I was lacking a siqnautre on something but they said nothing about this a week ago.I resent and recieved the email and text from them yesterday that they would send me more info in 7-10 days.I'm hoping we are in the clear then as far as this concern.I figure we are probably in the fine. When was your friend denied when sending the petition or was it later in the process?

Maybe some countries are different as applies to this particulair law.

  14. Yes, permanent residents are allowed to re-enter the US if they travel with their green card. Immigration may find it odd that he's making that daily trip but he would just have to prove that he's only going there for school.

    Diana

They wont find it odd at all they will just question you why.Plenty of people cross the border every day between Tijuana and San Diego. It is the most crossed border in the world.I currrently live in Tijuana.Mexico and cross to San Diego all the time to work, shop see family as I grew up there.I'm curious also because my fiance and I will eventually want to cross back in forth to do things sometimes in Mexico as to how long you have to wait before you can travel back and forth between the USA and Mexico.I work with plenty of people that either live in Mexico that have green cards to work,or have green cards to live in the USA and cross to Mexico all the time to see family that lives in Tijuana or to do stuff in Mexico.

  15. Just wondering if anybody who has been to Ciudad Juarez recently for the medical exam prior to going to the consulate, can give me more insight on the current process(what they test for exactly and what shots or vaxinations they give),charges(fees should I pay in pesos or dollars)and when to arrive and what to bring.

I always read and hear different things from different people as things change just curious on more current cases or experiences members can share with me here.

I work in a hotel in San Diego,California lots of the staff I work with are immigrants to the USA many from Mexico but also all over the world some are on work, tourist and K1 visas some have theyre green cards some have become citzens so I always hear different info and most of the Mexicans I work with have been in the country a few or many years.

Just curious what my fiance can expect.

  16. It is no problem as long as the divorce was Absolute and Final before filing the petition. IE, any needed waiting period has expired and she is free to marry legally.

Well we plan to get married in California just like at the justice of the peace no big wedding for us.There is no leagal waiting time in California if your case is finalized. But it says on the divorce paper which I saw when we picked it up here in Tijuana, and we sent a copy of with the packet if you were to get remarried in Mexico you have to wait like a year.

She has been told that does not have any affect in the USA but just because she heard that even from a attorney does not always mean it's true.

  17. Hi I'm new to the forum my fiance and I have been togeather since we first started dating in 2009.Luckily for me when we first met I was living where I grew up and spent most of my life in San Diego,California USA.She was living in Tijuana,Mexico when I met her which is where I have been living with her since November of 2009.If anybody does not know about Tijuana and San Diego they share a border and it is the busiest land crossing border in the world.I know all about this as I cross all the time as I live in Mexico but work in the United States. My only problem is I can not get Sentri so I have to wait in lines sometimes of two hours plus which is common just to go to work or see my family or shop in San Diego. So I have to leave three hours early to go to work which is only 30 miles away.Funny thing is coming home to Mexico it only takes me 40 minutes on average as they don't have the security or lines to get in as the USA does. But this is way better then the stories I have been reading on here where people can only talk on the internet or barely see there fiance in person cause of distance.

My question is she was married to an American before me they broke up six months before we met and they had a kid togeather who was not even two at the time. She was never married in the USA just Mexico and since has finaly got divorced in Mexico last Febuary. She has also never been to the USA and they never were togeather long enough and getting along to start any sort of process for papers.Part of the reason she waited so long to get divorced is even though her son was born in Tijuana,Mexico because his dad is an American he got American Citzenship her kid can cross the border so she did not want to force a divorce tell the dad brought it up and agreeded even though she was living with me because he was brining and picking his son up in Tijuana every week so he could stay with his mom when he was not attending preschool and spending time in the USA with him and his grandparents. She was just afraid to upset him and not be able to see her son.Because if his dad wanted to keep him in the USA and not bring him to Tijuana it would be hard for her to do anything about it.

My question is she finaly got her divorce finalized then we started our packet soon after and have finaly sent it and are awaiting on a decision.

I have tons of pictures of me and her and her son over the last few years(including different looks for her as in hairsyles, some weight gain and her son obviosly growing as he was under two when we started dating and is five now as well as pictures with some of her family members),contracts of the three apartments we have shared in Tijuana, bills some with my name and some with hers and plane tickets and reservations from the four times I visted Monterrey,Mexico with her and her son which is where she is originaly from with our names on them.I'm not worried about the evidence as I have lived with her since November 2009,and been with her for 3 and a half years.

Not sure if my above evidence is not enough if they check cell phone records which is mainly texts cause it is expenisve to call Mexico from the USA and versa via cell(also we don't talk on the phone as much or on the net anymore since we live togeather) or if they check my crossing records entering the USA from Tijuana.

I'm just curious because she was not divorced most of that time we were togeather and we filled for a k-1 quickly after her divorce was finalized in Mexico if that will have any affect on anything.
