Thank you guys for giving me a lot of helpful informations.
To update my SS Card: I just got it in the mail today. I applied it on June 24th, and today is June 28th. So the processing time is 4 days for me ~.~!

Thank you very much for replying so fast. Really appreciate your time!
I have one more question left: I just got my GC 2 days ago, and will be out of country for the next 2 weeks? is it okay for me to travel out of the country right after I got GC?...

So there will not be any problems when I re-entry the US without SS card, right? I will be gone for 6 weeks.

Hi everyone,
I've got my permanent card 2 days ago and went to apply for social security card at the same day I received my green card. My question is how long is it going to take to get my SSC in the mail because I need it to renew my driver license and update my student status. I didn't know that I could apply for SSC when I got EAD. The lady in the SS office said that I will receive the card in 2 weeks. The reason I'm asking because I have an emergency and already bought a ticket to travel out of the US the next 2 weeks. Of course that I will not be worried about losing my SSC when I'm gone because my husband is going to keep it for me. So is it okay if I travel out of the U.S without bring SSC? Has anyone here ever received the SS card less than 2 weeks?

did you get any paper stated that you were approved? Normally if you are approved on spot, the officer should give you an approval paper and get the i94 away from you. I think you should make an infopass, don't just call them.

I've got my green card today. One week after the interview day. And it's 10 year card. Expire date is 06/20/2023

We showed her our joint bank statements, gym memberships, county tax receipt, and car insurance that have our name on it. I also gave her some utility bills that have only my husband's name such as phone, electric, water, trash, and Verizon bills.

She kept your i-94? it seems like you are approved. I got approved on spot then she kept my i-94 and my EAD card. She said that I will get green card soon so I don't need these anymore. Keep waiting positively! Don't worry

is that it? I can travel out of the US with only my green card? because I need to know what paperwork I need to bring with me just in case you know..
FYI, my interview went pretty long. My officer asked for all the original(or certified copy) of my birth certificate, marriage certificate, and my husband naturalized certificate. And I forgot all the original papers that she asked for. Then she said, really? You came to an interview with all the copies, not original? ) After that she said, okay I am not going to ask for any original paperworks anymore since you didn't bring them. Then she just looked at the evidences that I brought. She later left the room to make copy of some of my papers and came back. She clicked on her computer and printed out 2 papers then signed them. She didn't even said congratulations. She just said, You should expect to received the card in 2-4 weeks then 3 years later you can apply for naturalization. Then I asked why don't I get 2 years conditional green card, then she answered that I don't need it since she got everything she wanted. lol...

Hi everyone,
I and my husband went to get interviewed this morning and we got approved right away with 10 years permanent resident. My officer said I should expect to get green card in between 2-4 weeks. Then I will need to apply for SSN#. My question is I'm going to my country for vacation when I have green card in hand. Do I have to bring SSN# with me? Thank you

i know that spring semester is a month away but the due day for register is Dec.7, so I just have one week left. I also did talk to my lawyer and he said that I do not need to if I want to because I no longer hold F-1 visa since I've got married. I also emailed to my international advisor asking about it but she said that I need to come to her office to discuss about this, so i will meet her on monday morning.

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum. I've been looking and reading a lot of information from you guys but it seems like none of your cases are like mine. Here is my situation:
I have been an international student in the US for 4 years legally and married to a green card holder for more than one year. My husband who was a green card holder now became a U.S citizen. While he was a green card holder, we did file I-130 and got approved. Right now, we are waiting for his Oath Ceremony done then he will upgrade me to Immediate Relative. We also got a PRIORITY green paper from the USCIS office after we file I-130 that said to put this GREEN PAPER on top when we file the I-485 later. I guess this means that our process will be faster if we file the I-485? I am pretty sure that our case will be approved since we are REAL marriage and have everything to prove if they want us to. It's just the matter of TIME for us right now. Next week, I have to register for my next spring class to maintain my F1-visa status, but it will cost us lots of money since we are still to young and we need that money for our family.
And here is my questions:
1. Do I need to sign up for my classes next semester to maintain my status?
2. My International Advisor doesn't know that I get married since I haven't meet her a lot.
3. If I don't need to maintain my status, who should I need to talk in school? International office or Administration Office?
EAD received....what next?
