  1. we took the same route.. our k1 seems forever to get approved(plus thinking that we'll get RFE) why we chose to do the spousal visa instead but then we had the chance to get the spousal visa process expedited (military expedite which was something that we thought not gonna happen at some point coz my hubby will be out in a few months but we still gave it a shot), that made us thought its the better route.. we also want to get married asap and the thinking that whatever happens with our process (rfe, failed the medical, 221g), we are already married..

but in your case, i think sticking with K1 is better..

  4. finally, after 3 and a half months of this toxic process, i got approved !!!

its good to bring everything that we sent to NVC during the interview..

got my ds230 last part missing.. glad i brought one with me..

and also good that i brought with me my hubby's original affidavit of support.. that filipino consul said the one we sent at NVC was scanned and not original. and even the one that i brought with me was said not original.. grrrr... i was almost hopeless and thought this will delay my visa.. thanks to that american consul at window 66.. when i told him i brought an original affidavit when he said i need to send them the original (coz that filipino consul marked the affidavits scanned), he checked the signatures of the affidavits and said all is good..:dance::dance:

i really thank you guys for the help and for all the valuable infos i got from visajourney... (L)(L)(L)

  5. Congratulations!

May I ask you all an information? My husband is in the army and I'm waiting in Italy for the whole process to be complete. They told us there was no way we could ask an expedite because since he's in the army, everything is already going faster. I've been waiting almost 5 months to get them to send the NOA2. Can you help me out and tell me more info about everything?

    Thanks a lot

ask your husband to call uscis and ask for expedite request under military reason and told them he might be deployed any time..

You can request a military expedite if your husband either has PCS orders (permanent change of station) or orders overseas to say Afghanistan etc.

    she is right... :thumbs::thumbs:

Not yet- we only found out yesterday :)

It's on its way to the embassy.

aww !!!! congratulations... youll be in your husband's arms soon.. yay !!!! (L)

  6. Congratulations!

I think you will find that NVC will go quickly too - after our expedite request at NVC we got case closed in ONE DAY! :)

So happy that our spouses receive some benefit for the sacrifice they make for their country, especially when it is really needed (like with our PCS situations!) :)

yay !!!! expedite under military reason too for NVC? we will also do it.. thank you for the input... yeah.. their sacrifice have some benefits.. congratulations to you too !!! you have your interview date yet?

  7. OMG !!! OMG !!!!! our CR1 was approved in 10 days !!! in 10 dAYS !!!!!!!!! THANK YOU LORD

GETTING MARRIED 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE K1 WAS APPROVED ISNT A BAD IDEA AT ALL !!!!!!

  8. I haven't read the rest of this thread- but read your post and thought I should reply.

She has said up there that her husband will be requesting an expedite due to military reasons.

As a new military spouse, I can totally see why they'd rush it on those grounds, as he could have many reasons to need to hurry up the process. They will have a much quicker route this way (look at my timeline through a military expedite!).

Don't make assumptions on other peoples journeys- no point unless you know the facts of their personal situations.

you said it right.. we can expedite the spousal visa under military reason why we decided to just get married.. thank you for your input in this thread.. btw, congratulations on your marriage and approval !!!!

  9. CONGRATS ON YOUR MARRIAGE.AND THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR REMARKABLE STORY OF APPROVAL.june filer here.YOUVE GIVEN SOME OF US SO MUCH HOPE.GOD RICHLY BLESS U :)

thank you so much... youll get your noa2 soon... ours is really UNEXPECTED.. :)

I agree with MrsOyetunji. She is only trying to advise people that VSC is in fast process for those who are waiting. Too many unnecessary opinions here sometimes.

    Congratulations on your marriage !!

Wishing you all the very best of luck :)

you too got it right !!! hehe... thank you so much... :)

  10. Hey Chris and Laura!

    Here are my two cents:

    1. It took my case 5 days to get to the NVC and the case number was assigned two days after that. Just for kicks, I would call the NVC today and give them your USCIS #. They should be able to tell you whether they've gotten your case file already. If they haven't, then wait until Monday or Tuesday and call again. Whenever they receive it, they will scan it and give it a case number. Once you get a case number, give them your email address and your spouse's. All communication with the NVC will be done through the phone or email, so make sure they have both of your emails.

    2. My recommendation is that you send your DS-3032 as soon as you get your case number. This might save a you some time - I wasn't aware that I could send my DS-3032 as soon as I had the case number and I just waited until the form was generated, which was a waste of time. The way things are going with the NVC these days, it could take you more than two weeks to get your IV bill generated (which for some other people has happened a couple of days to a week after they have emailed their DS-3032).

Now, the DS-3032 is the Choice of Address and Agent form. The NVC accepts both the physical copy and the digital one, but you don't need to send both (although you can). If you do opt for the email, make sure you send it from the beneficiary's email address. LingChe's NVC Shortcuts has a pretty good template of what that email would look like so check it out (sorry, I can't post links yet apparently, but you should be able to do a search and find it without a problem), but no matter how you put it together, you will need to include all the information that the actual DS-3032 has. You could pretty much just transcribe the form into an email, and make sure that your email includes all the NVC info requirements :

    * Name of the person submitting the inquiry

    * NVC case number or USCIS receipt number

    * Petitioner's name and date of birth

    * Principal Applicant's name and date of birth

As far as other stuff that you could be doing while you wait, you and your spouse can get all the civil documents you will need to send eventually and prepare the Affidavit of Support. Get a co-sponsor if you need one, and make sure you get all the necessary paperwork from that person as well. I don't know if this is the case for everyone, but the generated DS-3032 came in along with the AOS bill (you can just ignore the DS-3032 at that point if you already emailed it). Anyway, check out LingChe's shortcuts as you keep moving forward and remember to take it a step at a time.. this stuff can get a bit overwhelming. But, if you have any questions, just ask!

So... if you can, call tonight and see what they say.. you might get some good news!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

thank you for this... this will help us alot on our cr1 journey :)

  11. hey how does it happen that, you guys aproved tho you gys know u got mistakes for the first time. wow.,..And I think The time that you guys married was also ah... hmmm I dont want to say it but guys, I think,,,, you must cancel it then and start new!! for a spousal visa. anyways if you're still going to continue it,, THe CO will definitely denied you application and It might cause you a problem too when youre going to filed for next...

i honestly cant believe it as well that they approved us.. lol.. and i DIDNT said that we are still going to use the K1... We already filed for CR1... :)

  12. Congratulations! But now, another WAITING time begins. You should've just waited for the K1 interview. I know for a fact that K3 visa is long than K1. But there's hope...you can ask to have it expedited using your husband's military status (i.e., if he's about to deploy) My fiance did that. And our VISA was issued in just 77 days from the time we filed our I-129F.

    Good luck!

with those mistakes and lack of documents in our packet, we are really not confident that approval will happen this soon.. if we are confident that we can be approved without RFE's, we surely just wait for it... but then, we dont want to risk knowing we have those mistakes and since VSC is doing really slow before hubby came here for the wedding... even responding to RFE's will take time.. and also i worry about my medical.. and the fact that we can expedite the spousal visa this time under military reason, waiting time for k1 with RFE and doing the spousal visa in expedite processing will almost have the same time of waiting.. bottomline is at least were finally married and my family here have witnessed our wedding... NO REGRETs.. ;)

  13. Another thing..since your now husband is in the military, I'm wondering whether he went the right route. As military members, they are REQUIRED to request their command to marry a foreign national.

I hope he did, because it may put him in a bad predicament. Ask your husband if he did. If not, he needs to contact his LEGAL OFFICE.

we knew even before that its a requirement why we were not able to get married last march before he got back to us.. but then, i knew people from military who didnt ask for commander's approval and still they had no problem at all... :)
