  1. Congrats! We were there and approved the day before you (3/18), and I think we had the same interviewer, based on your description! Did she receive her visa yet? My fiance picked his up in Santo Domingo yesterday, and we booked a flight for 4/12, two weeks from today! Hard to believe after all the waiting, the hard part is almost over!! :-) Good luck on the rest of your journey!

  2. Congrats! In a week or so, you can start calling the NVC to ask if they received your case and sent it to the consulate! Then a week or so after that, you can start calling for interview information! The time flies from this point out! We received our NOA2 exactly one month ago, and exactly one month from today, I will be on a flight to our interview! Good luck on the rest of your journey...the waiting is almost over!!!! :-)

  3. Hi...I tried the same thing as soon as my petition hit five months, and got the same reply. I think maybe they consider the entire fifth month "normal processing time"...so it's actually at 6 months that you can file an e-request (just speculating...). However, I also contacted my congressman's office and they filed an inquiry...I was told Monday that they received the same reply: I was within normal processing time, try again in a month. Much to much shock, excitement, amazement, etc, I received my NOA2 yesterday. Maybe it was coincidence, but I think that having the congress office inquire drew attention to my petition??!?! Again, just speculation, but hey, it's worth a shot! Good luck, I hope this helps!

  4. Congrats!! Our noa1 at CSC was July 27 and we haven't heard anything yet :(

    But congrats!!

At the suggestion of my mayor (he's a friend of my parents) I went to my congressman's office and they sent an inquiry on my behalf...the reply they received was that I was still in normal processing time, and to wait another month before inquiring again. However, a few days later, I was approved! So...it might be worth a shot for you to contact your congress person?!?

  5. Hi...it looks like VSC is processing June and some July dates, so you should be hearing something soon. I just received my NOA2 yesterday after 5 1/2 months at CSC, which had been processing more quickly than VSC, but has slowed down significantly in the past few months. I called them right at the 5 month mark, and was told I was still within normal processing time. Last week, I went to my congressman's office and they sent an inquiry on my behalf. I received a reply from them a few days ago, basically stating the same thing...I was within normal processing time, try again in a month. Then, yesterday I was approved!!! I don't know if it's coincidence, or if the inquiry brought attention to my petition...but I would say, it's worth a shot to get your congressman involved! It definitely can't hurt, and in my case, it seems to have helped!!! I am still in shock, I thought I'd be waiting at least another month! Good luck...I hope you hear something soon!

  6. Good news...I am an August filer (Aug.2nd) and I received our NOA2 today! I called 2 weeks ago (as soon as we hit the 5 month mark) but I didn't get any helpful information...just that I was still within normal processing time, and to call back in a month. Then, last week, I went to my congressman's office and they filed an inquiry on my behalf...the response that I received back (yesterday!) was the same in as in my phone call...still within normal processing time, inquire again in a month. Then last night, I had a dream that I received the notification email...and just a few hours ago, I actually got the notice! Crazy, right?!? I hope this means good things for all the other July/August/September filers. I'm not sure if contacting my congressman helped, but maybe it made CSC dig out my petition??? Just speculating, but definitely worth a shot for everyone!
