  1. We booked the clubhouse of our apartment complex for a few hours on Dec 31st. A courthouse guy is going to marry us and we will broadcast it online for our families, since its only going to be us and my parents. After that, its off to the beach to take pics (hope it wont be too cold ;) ). The big wedding with the real dress, all our friends and family, party, etc is going to be in summer 2014 in Germany :D

I wish we had done it that way too, getting the legal marriage out of the way, and then having the space to breathe and plan the big day without the stress of immigration. It sounds like it will be a lovely day, and I hope we get to see your pictures here!

  2. Marchies, I have been offline a while. Got back from Macedonia last week and am missing my sweetheart sooo much! Of course, he got the Embassy packet in the mail 2 hours after I left on the plane...but at least he has it. Just a few more weeks and he will be here. I think I will make it. :)

Congratulations to all of you that are approved! I see a lot of happy faces in here now.

QUESTION for you....I need to get some documents to him before his interview on Nov 15th. I was looking on the their websites and DHL and FedEx charge over $100 to ship a letter internationally. REALLY????!!!!! Does anyone know a less expensive way? I am afraid the US Post Office won't get it there in time. Let me know what you know. :)

I send everything USPS Express mail, it gets through really quickly and is a lot less expensive than those services, and they have tracking as well.

  3. tin-jen , couldnt agree more! It will all be fine, soon we will all be with our loved ones.

I just read a post from one of our member about needing the form I 864 for the affidavit of support. So, the members who are already past interviews state, which one did u file? I 864 or I 134? Im a bit confused now.

We had the I-134 with a copy of last year's 1040 form, my last 4 pay stubs, and a letter from my employer listing my position, salary, and tenure with the company. Additionally, I had a letter from my bank listing how long my accounts had been open and what the current balances are, and what their average monthly balances are. The webpage for the embassy in London says that we did not need the I-864 until filing the AoS.

  4. While I'm glad everything worked out so smoothly for you... It's easy to say 'have faith' when you only waited a mere four months for your NOA2 and will have your fiance in the country before Thanksgiving even. I'd think at this point it's pretty obvious most of the people in this thread are not having the same good luck as you. :(

I for sure know that I have been very lucky in how quick things have been processed. Know that when you get to the embassy level that things move at a good clip. I think we got some quicker processing because we had signed a contract with the hall and put money down and I forwarded a copy of contacts and receipts for all the things I have set up. It was a huge gamble to get all these things in place, but I think it has paid off.

  5. Good Morning Everyone!

I am happy to see that some of the people going through VSC are finally getting their approvals! I thank my lucky stars everyday that I got sorted to the CSC, especially since I was fool enough to plan my wedding for December. At least I can offer encouragement that once you are in the hands of the State Department things go a lot faster, just don't dally on getting your information to the embassy!

In my personal story I have some updates. We got our packet 3 and I started working on getting together the information that has to come from me, unfortunately my fiance had some setbacks on getting the information that he needed, but finally got his medical scheduled. He went for the medical, everything seemed to go well, but the next day he got a call to come back for another appointment because they were "concerned" by something in the chest x-ray. He went back for the second x-ray and we got the all clear (the x-ray tech had rotated the film the first time). So we submitted our readiness form and waited, and waited, and called the embassy and waited.

Its important to note at this point that we were getting anxious at this point because of our wedding date in December and we were now in October with no word. We finally got our letter confirming our interview yesterday, but it was for November 19th. With the processing time after the interview, it was cutting it too close for comfort. My fiance called the embassy and was given and email address to request an earlier date, which we did.

Thankfully, the people at the embassy seem to be very reasonable and got back to us today with an earlier date, now November 1st.

The moral of this long story is: HAVE FAITH! Also, don't be afraid to stay on top of the people processing your information.

I hope you all have the same good luck that I have had through this process!

  6. Just to check in quickly ... I will have my medical tomorrow. I hope everything will go fine and if it's worth anything, I can post a little report in here how it went. If anyone is interested.

We're quite busy now getting everything together for the pack 3, but I think we are almost sorted. All I need now is his papers, but he sent them off today.

For anyone who's reaching the consulate state next - stay cool and follow the instructions in your checklist and the link you are given. Don't let yourself get confused by all the info that is floating around here and in other places. The consulate stage is different for every country.

Good luck and more good vibes sent out to every fellow Marchie!

Good Luck and let us know how it goes!

  7. Hey Guys!

I just wanted to check back in with everyone. I got a notice on 7/30 from the NVC that our information was shipped off to the embassy in London, and he got the packet 3 in the mail today (8/1)! I know you VSC folks are still waiting patiently, but I hope this encourages you that things do seem to speed up like mad once the NOA2 comes in... at least for those going to the embassy in London!

    Keep the faith, everyone!

Now if you will excuse me I need to scramble to get some things together since I wasn't ready for such a quick turnaround.

  8. Hello VJers! I've noticed there is a Jan and Feb filers thread, but didn't see one for March 2012 filers. As is the hot topic, VCS is really back logged, and it appears the Jan filers have not been getting processed at this time. I just wanted to reach out to any March filers out there... still waiting... and waiting.... ;)

There is a thread running here, and it looks like the March filers are starting to get approved. I got my text/email two days ago, and I am hearing of lots more coming through CSC. VSC seems to be moving a little slower, but there are March filers reporting approvals there as well... its starting to get really exciting!

    Good Luck!

  9. I was surprised that this came through so quickly. I was really hoping that we would hear since there were March filers that were hearing things out of the CSC.

We have a date set in December, so I was really getting panicky that we had made a mistake and that we wouldn't make the date. However, with this bit of luck, I think that we will be okay if we keep on top of the other steps. I hope you all have the same good luck that we had and you get your NOA2's really soon!

Anyone else set a date yet just on a hope and a prayer?
