Worried. Card expired 03/15, mailed package 03/10 to VSC, per usps tracking, it was delivered 03/14 afternoon. Check has not been processed till now and no news from the Center. At what point should I pick up the phone and call? Are there people who mailed by 03/10 that has checks still not cashed?

We are scheduled for interview in Lagos Nigeria for K1 on October 17. I know there is a requirement for $240 visa fee. Wondering if the fee is payable only in dollars or is local currency (Naira) acceptable.

Please let me know.

There's no reason why any Nigerian male cannot get all this done in 5 days but it depends on where he is located. However it helps if he is in close proximity to Lagos for the medical which is at least a two day affair unless he tests positive to TB based on XRay then all bets are off.

If he has a BC already chances are that it is already certified, look at the one below and have him compare the stamps.

PS: If he wants he can do the police report at his local state command. Nigeria has a federal police force not a municipal police like here in the US. He needs to confirm that they will send the application to Lagos for processing.

Thank you very much for your help. What she has is a handwritten form dated May 12, 2012. It came from the local office but it appears to be one of those quick jobs that may look suspicious. Our biographic stated that she was born in Lagos. The so called birth cert stated General hospital Aba. I have asked her to get age declaration since she cannot find her original birth cert.

According to the information we received with our visa interview date, there is a requirement to obtain a certified copy of birth certificate from the National Population Commission. Does anyone know where this commission is located and the process of obtaining this copy? My fiance has a birth certificate, so we are confused about the "certified copy" thing. How long a process is this and is there a fee? Also for K1 visa, how many days should one plan to complete the medical and obtain police report? Can all these be accomplished in a 5 day work week or does it take longer?

Does anyone know approximately how long it takes from Embassy receiving NVC package for K1 Visa to actual interview date? I met my fiancee once and we only took one picture together during my visit. However, we have been communicating by phone almost every day for the past 8 months. I am concerned because we have only one picture together and I cannot travel till Middle December due to my job. When I sent my people for the traditional introduction ceremony in my absence, they took several pictures, but since I was not there, I am not sure those will be acceptable

Our K1 package was delivered to Lagos Embassy in Mid August. I am wondering if anyone can give me an approximate interview date. Has anyone been approved with little or no pictures? Please advise

I called the IRS directly, they were able to send them to a fax number.. which is more than acceptable,, I received them in just a few hours..

Do you remember the phone number you called? I called one and it sent me back to the automatic phone. I ordered again for the 3rd time

Over the last 3 weeks I have ordered tax transcript both through the automated phone and through the web. Unfortunately none has been received. Is this normal? Has anyone experienced same? What am I missing? Please advise

I got my NO2 letter August 10. Today is August 17. I called NVC and was told that my case has been sent to Lagos Embassy (I specified Abuja in my i129f). The problem is that I have not received any e-mails or package from NVC. Is this to be expected? The lady who answered my call gave me a case number and said Lagos will contact me. I am not sure if this is the correct sequence of things. I was expecting to hear from NVC about choice of agent, AOS, etc.

Please advice. I am confused at this time.

Got NOA2 08/06, NOA1 was 02/07, filed 02/01. Waiting for whats next. The whole thing is all about waiting and no one can plan based on this stuff. I want to make a trip to supply more evidence as we only met for 2 days and took only one picture together, but I need to know the interview day before I can make my trip plans...unfortunately all we have to do is wait.

I just received a text message from VSC that my status has changed. Checked the website and it was approved this morning, one day shy of six months since I received NOA1 letter. I guess it is time....I am glad there was no RFE

Whenever I check my i129f status, I show Initial Review. It has been the same since I received NOA1. Some here appear to show a touch date and I am not able to see such date on mine. This is what I see: Also at the bottom it says expires 06/30/2012 which has past. What does this mean?
