  1. good luck diven

i would say just b confident and look straight into the eyes while answering...thers nothing to worry and b honest...my interview was more like a discussion...just answer what u r asked for nothing more or less..

  2. new delhi US embassy doesn't send packet 3 i guess. i never recieved my packet 3 had to download the forms, fill them , print and then scan them to pdf and email them to infousdelhi@vfshelpline.com.

to track your case you would have to call department of state(DOS) at +1202-663-1225. press 1 and 0 to talk to an operator or a visa specialist, provide them you case no. and they can tell u if your papers have reached the embassy. if your papers have arrived at the embassy then just email them form DS 230part1 and applicant's statement, because only after they recieve these documents, the embassy will schedule an appointment for you. dont wait for the packet to arrive once the DOS confirms that your papers are at the embassy.

  3. does anyone know why does the embassy takes so long to put a visa stamp on the passport...ever since the interview my passport is under process at the US embassy...i was told i would recieve it in 3-4 days...i am really starting to worry now as i have read a few posts here in VJ that even after the visa was approved, people were put into administrative processing...is this normal to recieve a status that says that the passport is under process at the embassy??

  4. thank u all...interview is not a big deal just be honest and confident while answering. answer only what is aksed for as precisely as possible. the answers to my questions were:

    q1) who is calling you?

    ans) my fiance, (name)

    q2) how did you meet?

ans) introduced by family who were neighbourors and family friends before his family moved to america. we met online.

q3) how many times has he visited india?

ans) twice( i mentioned when and for how many days)

q4) are you parents going to attend the marriage in the US? if no, why?

ans) no, but we are planning a grand reception party for which they will be joining us.

    q5) is it arranged marriage?

ans) no, i would call it an introduced + love marriage. although we were introduced by our families, it was only after we fell in love with each other that we decided to get engaged. ( he was smiling while i was answering this question dont know why).

he made some updates on his computer after the whole interview.

  5. i had my interview at new delhi US embassy yesterday. everything went smooth i was interviewed by an indian officer first who didnt ask much. he just asked 1 questions:

    q) who is calling you?

i was handed over the originals alongwith form DS 230 part 2 and was asked to wait for my token no. to be called. after wiating for an hour and a half i was called at the window no. 23. the american consular officer took the interview. i was asked to take an oath and sign a form( dont remember which form). the CO asked me a few questions as follows:

    q1) who is calling you?

    q2) how did you meet?

q3) how many times has he visited india?

q4) is it going to be your first marriage?

q5) it is going to be your fiance's first marriage?

q6) are your parents going to attend the marriage in the US?

q7) is it an arranged marriage?

good your visa is approved you should recieve it in 4-5 days.he kept my passport. i was told by the VFS to check the status online after 2 pm the next day. i checked it today and it says that my passport is under process at US embassy/consulate.. what does it mean? does it mean that the case is under additional processing or is it a normal processing that they do before putting a visa on the passport? how long does the new delhi US embassy takes to issues the visa after interview? does VFS sends an SMS or an email to inform the applicants that they have recieved their passport with the visa?anyone who's been through this please come forward and help me.

  6. which consulate have you applied at? when you go to VFS they have a seperate counter for submission of immigrant visa documents...you will be called according to the token number...they will name the documents and you just have to submit them in the order they will ask..at new delhi VFS they asked for appointment letter, passport(original and photocopy), PCC, birth certificate, form DS 230 PART 1 AND 2, DS 156(2 copies), ds 156k,affidavit of financial support, relationship proof. they will put everything in a folder themselves. dont forget to carry your originals. although it was not mentioned that it is mandatory to submit the originals , the lady at the counter told me that if i wish to submit the documents with VFS i will have to submit both the photocopy and originals.

you also have to pay VFS courir charges rupees 394. after you have submited all the documents they will issue you a reciept for the same.

  7. thanks for the suggestion..what documents did you submit at VFS in support of your relationship??

VFS took both the originals and the photocopy...they told me i could either submit the originals and photocopy to them or carry them to the interview.. they didnt take my medical report, draft and when i gave her form I-134 photocopy she didnt even ask for the original..for my relationship proof i only submitted a few pictures(about 20), e-mail chats, telephone records of past 9 months. do they need anything else?

  8. could you please tell me if i can submit few documents at VFS and the rest at new delhi US embassy?? does the consulate accepts it or will my case be kept under AP?? i submitted all the documents today at VFS except form I134 original and my fiance's ticket and passport photocopy...plz help i have my interview on august 7...

also could you please share what were you asked in your interview?

  9. i had similar problem..my school records would show my correct birth date except my passport and the birth certificate. i could not change my school record that showed my correct date. therefore, i had to get myself a new birth certificate with a correct DOB and then later i got myself a new passport issued in accordance with my new and correct DOB. it was a real pain in my ***, but then there was no other way out. same is your husband's case. although it was a long procedure i got my new birth certificate in a month's time from the state municipality where i was born. had to pay a penalty/bribe( whatever you may call it) of 40,000 to get it done immediately.

as your husband's school records does not show his real DOB and that they can not be ammended. so only way is to get him issued a new birth certificate with the DOB that he has in his school records and passport. also, the certificate will be issued from the state where he was born.

  10. today only the status is changed to "PCC under review at PSK". earlier it would say that they have requested the SP to carry out my police verification and once the PCC is ready they would inform me through an email or sms. till now they said that they did not recieved the police report..i confirmed with the police officer who had carried my verification process. had to pay him 500 bucks. soon after i checked the status and it was changed to this. it seems like he had not forwarded my papers to passport office. i m perplexed as to wait for an email now or should i just visit PSK??

  11. i had applied for PCC at delhi on june 14 n had police verification on 19 june. Its been above a month n i have not yet recieved it. My interview is scheduled for the month of august( first week). Is there any way i can get tje PCC out from the passport office??
