  1. hello,

I and my husband just got married a week ago.

I'm planning to file AOS soon, but my concern is that right now are looking for an apartment, but have no luck finding one yet.

I rent a room. I talked to the landlord to see if my husband can live with me and I'm willing to pay more. He denied because he said rule is rule. The room is meant for 1 person only.

My husband currently live with his brother because he just lost his job. For some reason, his brother hates my gut.

My husband talked to him to see if we can move in there for a while he said NO!!

so my question is, can we live in different places for a while? would that be a problem because they will ask you in the I-485 form.

Note: we have a strong relationship: phone bills, bank account, joint account, car title etc.

    We also have a co-signer.

    please helps

  2. Vawa she has to wait because they won't be able to put together her letter with her case. Their computer system works just with number, no names. She doesn't have a number yet then her letter will be sitting there forever because they won't be able to match her letter with her Vawa Case. She should call vawa Unit and leave her name and phone number and they will call her back and she can inquire about her case.

    She said thanks!

Do u have the VSC phone number?

She tried what "Someone" gave and it seems that it didn't go to VSC

    Thx

  3. Vawa you should write with BIG RED LETTERS "VAWA UNIT" outside the envelope. You should use the Vermont Service Center address ok. What do you want to ask them?

    Sandranj,

Mrs. Jesse007 messaged me that she can't log in her account.

She said " thanks for your reply. And she wants to write them a letter to ask them about her case because its been 7 weeks and she hasn't received anything yet..not even NOA. She mailed it with 1 day shipping and 200$ insurance..what should she mention in that paper?"

  4. jesse if it was me i would start chasing them up and probably try calling first - i have seen on here some people have better success asking for a tier 2 supervisor when they call, but i dont know if they will give you any info because it is a vawa case but at least it would have them looking for it, and then if i still didnt get it i would write a letter as well inquiring. I think you should have something by now, i never waited past two weeks to get something back from them. good luck!

    Thanks so much,

I want to write a letter.

Which address should I send to?

And what should I write on that?

Sorry, I have never done this

  5. Not to sound like dumb or anything, how do you check your case status?

    Someone,

Do you happen to know VSC phone number?

it sounds like your lawyer does not know much about anything  . i would try to call vcs just to inquire in any kind of ways possible.the prima face means that you have met all the initial requirements for them to process your application.

see if you can pm sandranj..she knows best.

  6. ask sandranj about that..she's been so helpful to us and have experience in this stuff

Probably there's a chance the mail lost during hurricane sandy? Lol

in a few days, it will be 7 weeks since my packet has been signed and received by vsc and I haven't even received a "notice of action" yet.

should I write them a letter?

    any suggestion you guys?

I meant, at least send me Prima Facie, or RFE to show that they have recieved my packet :(

  7. Both

I know one Romania girl she got approved in January 2012 but unfortunately didn't ask her for how long time she was waiting , also I checked out by track it , some girl got approved in September 2012 and she failed her I-360 in February 2012 8 month by Vermont , just try to understand haw this one works why some people wait for 18 month and case never touched , and one other people just 8 -9 month , it is depend of luck :)) or depend of case . ??????? ????

  8. Love me,

    Thanks for your useful info.

Will they charge you resident rate or non residents rate?

Do you file I-485 with I-360?

OK SO I WENT TO A SCHOOL TODAY TO SEE IF I QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL AID. ... WELL YES !! WE DO !!... AT LEAST FOR THOSE WHO STILL HAVE A CURRENT PREMA FACIE. THOSE WHO HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN APPROVALS AND THIER PRIMA FACIE HAS EXPIRED WILL JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR THEIR GC TO GET FINANCIAL AID BECAUSE I DON'T THINK WE CAN APPLY FOR A RENEWAL OF PREIMA FACIE AFTER 1360 IS APPROVED.

I ADVICE ANYONE WHO HAVE A CURRENT PRIMA FACIE AND WANTS TO GO TO SCHOOL TO START NOW BECAUSE FINANCIAL AID IS AVAILABLE.

  9. you said "the minute you applied for AOS".

did you spouse apply Adjustment of Status for you or you meant the moment you sent I-485 with VAWA?

for me, my spouse refuse to file AOS for me.

and right now, i'm filing VAWA only.

I guess that's make me still an F1 visa holder

sorry everyone for the above long post, i saved it on my desktop & don't have the link to it.

  10. Yeah let's continue it here!

    Myjay,

Would you mind telling me how do u get to US?

I got here on a student visa and got married 2 years later, but my spouse refuse to file an adjustment of status for me,

Which means that I'm still an F1 visa holder.

I emailed my school dean and she said that The Prima Facie on its own only reveals the status of your case it cannot be used for reclassification of your tuition status.

I really need an instate tuition rate.

I live in WA state and you?..idk what to do

Please guide me through out of this black tunnel

    Thanks

  11. Myjay,

  12. After 17 mo I receive a txt saying rfe seriously

all this time waiting for this? They shouldve asked for it sooner

I see many cases like this..when u Send RFE back, they will approve yours.

It's a sign that your journey would end with a good news soon.

Good luck and stay thirsty my friend

  13. You are welcome VAWA. I am in school as well, and I get financial aid and in state tuition rate with my prima facie

  14. Thank you Myjay,

I used to work on campus so I already have a SSN card.

Ok, I'll do that and see what's going on from there

You can receive financial aid with prima facie. But I'm not sure how that will work for someone with prima facie and F1 visa, I personally don't believe that matters. I think your best bet is to take your prima facie to your financial aid office. You need to have a social security number first, also fill out the FAFSA application online, and remember to check ELIGIBLE NON CITIZEN, before you go to the financial aid officer. Then see what happens.

  15. Anybody plz?

I am an F-1 student visa holder with an Prima Facie for 180 days.

However, I read on fafsa website, it states that

eligible non-citizen: Has a valid Prima facie

In eligible: non immigrant visa holder: F1, J1 etc

So pretty much I'm in both condition, does it make me eligible or in eligible for financial aids?

    Any answer would be appreciated
