Wife received phone call today. Your visa expires on December 9th, if we issue now can you travel before than? She said "yes". Does that mean visa has been approved?

I guess my wife is one of the rare cases : (
-
I would write those new dates and attach a letter to the back explaining why there is revision in regarding the dates.
-
Many congratulations to you and your family on your visa.
-
Well what if I've waited 9 months?
-
Just a general question. How long after waiting in AP should we start to get concerned that our case might get denied. I'm worried that if were in AP so long than our case is denied, all that wasted time. Also, the linger in AP the more for concern? Your thoughts?

We had vonage which worked great until paki government decided to increase communication tax. How did you send majic jack to your wife. Because FedEx is rediculous with their shipping fees. We are going to try Skype. Hopefully she gets her visa soon so we don't have to worry about calling eachother.
Well I took it with me when I went a few years ago. I didnt know it'd be that expensive to mail. Try dhl or USPS.

Glad to hear you had a great time back home. My wife and I are also getting frustrated with this process being that we are going on our 10th month. Plus with this new phone tax the paki government just imposed makes even harder to connect with eachother. I am not sure what we can do. But hang in there.
Hey I'm glad we are all in this together but I wish none of us were in this at all. In reference to your phone situation, you ever think of sending a magic jack? I sent one, it works wonders. Also Im not sure what kind of phone you have but lots of iPhone apps out there for free calls. Worth the investment. If not iPhone iPod touch works just as good if you have wifi.

Oh that was you I saw on wildest police chases? Lol, we all go through a fase

How was your trip to Pakistan? We're you able get some progress on her AP during your visit?
My trip was great. A much needed break from work along with much need time with the mrs'. No progress on Ap.
My congressman is involved but says not much can be done. We will see what he says after he gets my campaign contribution.
One thing I never mentioned here (mostly) because I didn't think it would make a difference but now wonder.
I had a DUI 4 years back. Do you think that may be slowing down the progress?

Bon voyage everyone. At the airport now boarding my flight. Will try to keep in touch with everyone.

Solution to all our problems
Step 1. Get our spouse or loved ones visiting visa to mexico.
Step 2. Inconspicuously walk into the Arizona desert.
Step 3. Find water and food
Step 4. Party like you've never partied before.

I among many of you here feel the pain of being felt like your stuck in a broken system with no where to go. No one to ask for help, no where to go for comfort. However my hope remains that we will all make it and that we won't let this broken system break us. I refuse to be trapped in a document driven system of someone to tell you that your not in love. As long as I know what is true in my heart I will remain strong and I encourage every one here and others who are not on this forum to remain strong with your head up high. We have too many people counting on us to let any one of them down. Brothers sisters son daughters and parents all looking up to us for the encouragement they need to move forward. Stay strong and prosper. Were all in this together.

I second the vote that we broke it. I know my dad was checking it multiple times a day.

humm... i guess she really impressed you "more helpful the most" lol! jk jk! I tottaly understand what you are going through, and agree how irritating and fustrating it is! Unfortunatly the operators that pickup the phone get asked the same question and they are nothing more then just operators they dotn have your file in front of them. So essentially what they do is give you a "Pill" ... its kind of like a pain killer, you believe it for a while and then the affects of the pill wear off and then the pain is back and the phone is back on the ear in hopes for a better pill for next time. Needless to say nothing will make you feel better till this issue is resolved and your in the good graces of an approval.
So true! I'll be taking another pill tomorrow before my flight to Pakistan where I will be recieving permanent treatment (my wife in my arms). Best case scenario is something will be resolved when I'm there.

I called the embassy last week and the very nice lady on the phone said "things get backed up during the summer with lots of student visas, non immigrant visas and immigrant visas. Summer is very busy for us" And also with Ramadan I can't imagine the pace getting any faster.

Every states law is difference and even more so every counties laws are different. If one is requested it will need to be original and certified, copies are not allowed.

Just got off the phone with DOS, while i did not hear good news the lady i was speaking with was very helpful (unsual i know). She was explaining to me how during the summer time they get over flowed with visas especially student and traveling visas. The embassy has not contracted out to a 3rd party (as i had heard) and that they are constantly working on the application and that it is not (contrary to what we might think here) just sitting around. She also stated that me being in AP for 7 months is not "abnormal". Now i dont know if this is just stuff she has to say or if she actually knew what she was talking about. Time will Tell.

Seeing as how I'll be in Lahore and I don't want to travel to Islamabad just to get a answer of "we can't help" do you think the consulate in Lahore will be of any assistance?

Firstly Id like to thank god, without him nothing is possible
My wife has finally received her visa. Some of you may not have noticed but I changed my screen name it use tO be far three one six. I had filled my wife's I-130 in march of 2011. Her interview date was December 21st 2011. Immediately put in AP. We talked to senators, congressman, lawyers, even people who worked in the embassy. No luck. Someone had calledher house last week saying. Your visa expires december 9th if we issue can you travel before than. She said yes. We were hoping for good news to come. Three days later her visa packet had arrived. If my wife got her visa after waiting so long, anyone can. Never give up hope always keep faith that something good is about to happen.
