The dates on the card is:
Expiration Date 9/19/15
Resident Since 9/19/13
Those are the two dates listed on the green card.

My wife received her two year conditional green card in the mail today on 9/27/13. She is so happy, mainly because we are going on vacation back to the Philippines in October and will not have to worry about getting back in the country...lol.
I do have one question, on the green card it states that she has been a resident since 9/19/12. However she arrived in the USA on 9/8/12. Is this something that I should be worried about?
Thank you for your responses in advance.

The AOS filing fees were $1070.00. The supplemental medical for her immunization records was $180.00. So in total it was $1250.00.
Nice!Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!.
How much did it all cost? From AOS to GC?
We filed the AOS petition along with EAD and Advanced Parole on March 29, 2013. We received the letter of approval today 9/26/13. Just shy of 6 months.
Congrats! How long was the AOS process for you guys?

Today 9/26/13 my wife contacted me and let me know that the NOA2 letter from the USCIS arrived in the mail today. It stated simply "Welcome to the United States". I immediately went to the USCIS site and looked up her status and it said that the new card was mailed to her yesterday, 9/25/13. Hopefully we will get it in the next few days. We started the process on March 29, 2013 and received one RFE for supplemtal medical information on her immunizations.
The whole process has been aggrivating but in the end it is well worth the effort. I now have my asawa here and with a legal presence in the USA.

My wife has just gotten a letter from the USCIS titled Notice of Intent to Deny. They are asking for the same thing. Vaccination Records (documentation of immunization).
I have read your post and my wife is filing for AOS under a K-1 Visa. Everything that you indicated in your list is complete on her DS-3025 form so it seems that this notice of intent to deny is an unnecessary delay in her AOS application.
I have called the civil surgeon in our area and have made an appointment. What choice do I have? But the instructions on the Letter of Intent to Deny states that the I-693 form medical examination record does not need to be completed, but the vaccination record must be completed by a civil surgeon who has been designated by the USCIS.
Now below this it states that the medical exam must be conducted as directed in the instructions to Form I-693 and in the Centers for Disease Control's Technical Instructions.
The only thing that was not checked on her DS-3025 form that she received in the Philippines was for Rotovirus. I believe this is what is missing for her to get this letter of intent to deny. If you have any further thoughts on this, please let me know.

We filed on March 29, 2013 and had her biometrics done in Raleigh on 4/25/13. She received her EAD and AP on 5/30/13, Our status on the GC is still in the acceptance status on the USCIS Site. I hope that the GC will come soon because we are planning to go to the Philippines for vacation in October.

Rep Walter Jones' (NC-3rd) folks were just as unhelpful. Took them forever to respond as well.
Considering Ted Cruz wants to abolish the IRS...I dunno. Your other senator isn't exactly rushing to work on immigration either.
Perhaps you have a congressman who can help?
Try Senator Hagans office, talk to a young lady there named Jennifer. She was extremely helpful in my case.

My wife applied for her SSN today after receiving her EAD card in the mail Saturday. Her name was not in the computer system yet and they had to verify it through Homeland Security. It will take approximately 4 weeks according to the lady at the counter for her to get her Card in the mail.
Good luck to all in their journeys.

hi, quick question, how long did you received the EAD card after approval? i checked my status on-line, and it's on "card/document production" status since June 7, 2013. and according to the status, i will be receiving my EAD card within 30 days. is it the same situation with you? or i should be expecting the card earlier than that? thanks.
We noticed the card production notification on the USCIS website approximately 7 days before she received her card..

Yes you will be issued an EAD card which you will use to get your Social Security Number. When you have your EAD you are authorized to work even though you have not received your Green Card yet.

No I did not call, just checked the USCIS website each week. Good luck to you on your journey

We applied the 26th of march

We are very happy for you both.
Question about her experience at POE Chicago. I am planning on my fiancé and her son to fly into Chicago as the POE and pick them up there. Any information on her experience and also for me as where to go to meet them in the airport will be greatly appreciated.
My asawa was extremely lucky, she was flying with another Pinay who was visiting the philippines at that particular time. She guided my asawa through immigration but was seperated for a bit when my asawa went through immigration and she went to her next gate. There is a shuttle train in chicago which takes you to your next departure gate and it can be confusing unless you ask. It was confusing for me when i was traveling through that airport. As to where you can pick them up at, I am at a loss to give you any advice there. Chicago was just a hub to get to her final destination of Raleigh NC. As far as the immigration process went, It was fairly easy according to my asawa, they asked for her passport and her immigration sealed package, asked her a couple of questions and welcomed her to the USA. I think it took all of 15 minutes.
good luck to you in your journey.

I went to the USCIS website and saw that my asawa's EAD and Advanced parole were approved on May 30, 2013. Just awaiting card production and having them mail it to us.
Good luck to all in your journey.

Yes I waited until after we were married and went to the SS office about three and a half weeks before the I-94 expired. They took the application and said that the Card should arrive in the mail in about three weeks. When it did not arrive I did not panic, it was during the Christmas Holidays so I just put a few extra weeks waiting time into the mix. When it still had not arrived I called the SS office that we went to and to my amazement there was no record of us even having filed an application for a SSN card. Now we are waiting for the EAD and the AP card to come so we can go back through that process again. Sometimes I just wonder.

I used Rapid Visa for the K-1 Visa and the AOS. I do not think that you will be disappointed with their service. They also have an office across the street from the embassy which will be very usefull to you when it comes time for your interview as you can go there to have them check your paperwork before your interview. Good luck in your journey.

Whew, a lot of great advice. Thank you to everyone that responded. With these options I will do a little research and take my best course of action. Once again thank you all very much for your responses and advice.

International travel documents MUST be in the name on the government issued ID used for travel--i.e. a passport. So the tickets need to be in the maiden name since that is what is in her passport. The name on the GC does not matter until it is time to travel back to the US and board the airplane. You must show that the wife with a passport in the maiden name is the same person as the name on the GC. So it is recommend you carry a certified copy of the Marriage Cetrificate to help the airline people make the connection. Now if you get the passport changed then "YES" her tickets must be in the married name. I would either get the passport changed before you travel to her married name or wait until you come back as I am not sure how you can purchase a RT ticket in two "different" names.
The K-1 visa is a one entry visa and is not valid once she entered the US the first time. IT is not needed. You need to make certain you keep the I-94 justr in case you have an interview and they want it then.
Have a good trip,
Dave
We would be traveling before my wife gets her GC and I think that I can buy the RT tickets in her maiden name going there and her married name coming back. Not 100% certain though. If anyone here has done this please let me know.

Greetings to all,
Myself and my wife got married here in the USA on October 20, 2012. We filed for her AOS in March 2013 and are expecting her EAD and Advance Parole in a few more months. At this time we are going to plan a trip to the Philippines for about three weeks. My question is can I book an airline ticket in her maiden name shown on her passport going to the philippines and then book her ticket on the returned trip to the USA in her married name? We plan to have her passport changed to her married name in the Philippines because I think this will be a lot faster in the Philippines than to go to Washington DC to the Philippine embassy there. Also If we do apply for a name change on her passport in the Philippines, what requirements will we have to have to accomplish this? What happens to the K1 VISA that is attached to the old passport? Any one that has done this please give me your experience.

Sometimes you have to write not only to your senator, but also your congressman. In my case, I wrote to both and had congressional inquires put in from both offices, I don't know if it helped or not but soon after I saw some movement on my case. A word of caution though, the represenative in the office that you choose will sometimes have no clue as to the immigration laws or processing times of the USCIS or NBC. Be extremely patient with the person that you are communicating with and just explain your story with as many facts as you can gather.

You should try your local Congressman. I chose him based upon how he voted on past immigration issues/laws. As he is in favor of helping immigrants. My wife filed for AOS from K-1 over 9 months ago and her case was transfered to CSC. It took 1 week for the worker from my Congressman's office to get back to me with an answer from USCIS. They had her case put on an officer's desk to be processed. Then one week after their response we got a notice that the greencard is in the mail and will be here any day. Total time from start to finish was only two weeks. Don't give up. Also is may be better if you actually just show up in person at their office to make you case more personal. Good Luck.
Mike
Hello Mike, I have just filed for my wifes AOS. How did you find out that your case was transferred to the CSC?
