Why not set up a joint account in the US once you arrive and deposit the money there? You can both add to it, use it how you need to, and the joint account will be able to be used as proof of your bona fide marriage for AOS and eventually ROC.

Ah, thank you very much for the answers. And no no, the money lending isn't directly related to the visa process. Those expenses are pretty much covered already. I was just wondering if it could come up somehow in some papers that are needed during the AOS process and then they'd think the wrong things. Me being from east Europe and everything. I just don't want any unnecessary trouble. We have waited for this for so long as it is.

After obtaining the K1 visa, going to the US and stuff the next step is marriage and the AOS process.

Would it be ok during that time to lend my fiancee 3000 dollars (I have some money put aside to help deal with the times I won't be able to work yet) or isn't that a very good idea and will be seen as me "buying" the visa and marriage from him just to get to the US?

I'm looking over I-134. It says:

"I derive an annual income of: (If self-employed, I have attached a copy of my last income tax return or report of commercial rating concern which I certify to be true and correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. See instructions for nature of evidence of net worth to be submitted.)"

I'm not self-employed and I meet the income requirements. I have pay stubs and letters from employer. But yet I see everyone on these forums talking about tax returns. Are tax returns really necessary?

It's honestly silly tho how uneven the processing times between the service centers are. I wonder why they even keep sending the stuff into Vermont at all when they are that clogged. Sense? Makes none.
