i had my interview on 20 th april 2k6 at us embassy islmabad, pakistan .. i was given a paper , my papssport was kept with the embassy ,

no figerprints were taken ,,

the paper i was given at the end of the interview stated tht i m on admin processing

its 20 th feb today 2k7 after 10 months i realised wat i m on , i always thot tht ar and ap is the same bullshitt , so wat can v and not do in AP to expediate tha process and wat can v do if v r on AR :?

the avg time for ar/ap ####### can last long and it hasd no definite time frame it can be completed anytime any minute or a second,, i m on ar for the last ten months

tht 8 weeks is just a standard time , but usu it takes a week or 2 max can be 4 ... all u gotta do is wait ......

you heard that right once the case is completed they forward it to the corresponding embassy , but you see one thing u did not take into consideration is that they have to review for technical errors that might be in the case ... now wat i think wat they r doing ur case is tht they r reviewing it for any omissions or errors , once that is done they will forward the file to the embassy and and a new cr-1 interview will be scheduled , at this point if i were you i would have forgotten about filing i-130 and have had stuck to k-3 the non immigrant visa but lets hope for the best , my wishes for u and ur spouse good luck

Thanks for telling me about DOS. So what u think when your AR/AP ends and when u going to get visa i m coming soon in that procedure lets see what happens and how it goes

DOS in computer terms is known as DISK OPERATING SYSTEM , before widows came in ppl used to work on dos lol , but thts nt the dos wat v r talking about , DOS is Department of state, where all the petitions go to for security clearance after the interview of male applicants .... hope thts clear

As far as I know, I don't believe the DOS when they say they found new information on you... I seriously think that the file just sits there half the time until one of them has had enough donuts for the day and gets to work... but guess what, by then there's only 5 minutes of work left! lol...

I think it's about time to start pointing out to the world the hardcore discrimination that the USCIS is displaying. If AP/AR only took 1-2 months, it's not so bad. If it's taking too long, there's something up (aka they are trying to stop as many Muslims to come into the country as possible).

man i think v cant do anthing abt it , cuz a counslar officer is outside the jurisdictions of US, and the sole decision is made by him . p.s thts wat i think n read so far, plus the US law has made it clear to have safe borders, but its just an excuse, its juss so political they makin it critical for pakis

been on AP/AR for over 4 MONTHS NOW!!!

129 days toal so far since we've been on AP/AR.

i call DOS 4 times a week, every week, and get the same response

'your husband is still undergoing security checks, there is no more background information we can give at this time'

#######!!

i ask them the following questions every time:

- what is the status of case?

- has the cable been sent to embassy?

- what/how many security checks are pending?

- which checks has he passed?

- i am his wife, why can't you look at you other screens and look for useful info to give me?

i've spoken to all the different operators, barbara, rose, etc and they all give me the same info:

i don't know...... i can't give you that information........we don't have that information now....

are there any other questions i can ask? have you all been getting the same responses from DOS when you call up and ask about your cases? can DOS tell me what check my husband is on (ie check #1 2 3 or 4)???

sorry to hear ur story mrs. molly , yea i get the sam response as u , and they do not tell much more than tht , just its still fukin pending. but yeah once i was told tht my clearance was completed on 6 th june 2k6, but neva told me wat sort of clearance. ok the clearnce was done but sum new names popped up so it again went for sec clearance..i called em again same day a lady sed summin same but diff , it was the clearnce was dun but they ve found sum new info on my case and it again went for review........... #######.

i guess they cant tell u info more than tht like wat sort of clrnce etc.

cons ur time line shows tht the interview was on 04/07 then how com its been 126 days of AR AP so far?

hey i called up DOS and all they d\could ansa was tht its awaiting clearance, they dont wana go in detail, all they say is tht review and security clearnce was compltd on 6 th o june byt they found sum mo info on ma casse , thts y it wenbt for a re review now?? wat kinda bullshitt is tht ? ma wife called up DOS today too and she was told the same ol story tht they dont have my case?? confusing huh !!!

yea but the last email rep was kinda strange it was like this:

Our record indicates that this case is still undergoing additional necessary administrative processing as part of the security clearance procedure. Visa applicants affected by additional screening should expect delays before the case is concluded. It is difficult to predict the amount of time that the clearance process will take. As soon as it is complete, we will contact you for continued processing of the visa application.
