Everything is complete ,got visa of my son.

We r flying on 6 th sep and our POE will be at PHL.

Something happened with my wife's passport, there is no surname in passport.

When she got her visa it said FNU & later her name. I know that it will be problem & I cannot change her name now so we will change her name at the time of citizenship almost after 3 yrs .

In December my wife and I sent in our I-130 petition for our son who we adopted as a relative adoption. The I-130 was approved on March 28. We then sent in our sent in my Affidavit of support I-684 to the NVC as well as the visa application with all supporting evidence. After the prerequisite 20 business days they sent me an e-mail that my case had been reviewed and all was in order but we needed to send in a I-684 W instead of the 12 pages of I684, income tax copies and W2's we had sent. So I had my wife who is with our son in the Philippines to fill out the one page w form and have our son sign it. She scanned it to me and I sent in the form with cover letter. After waiting 20 more business days for them to review the one page form they sent me another e-mail saying the I-864 W form needed the original signature of our son.You see I had my wife scan the form signed by my son so the signature was not original. Needless to say I was much disgusted and discouraged and called my wife to have another form filled out and send to me, by mail. The next day I called the NVC and the lady on the phone, who was very nice and professional, told me that I shouldn't be discouraged because my case was complete and all I needed to do was wait for the interview date at Manila Embassy. She said our son could bring the form with him to the interview and sign it. I have no idea which is true,whether I will need to send in to NVC another form or the agent on the phone is correct and our case is complete , except waiting for interview date. Sorry for breaking into this thread and being so wordy.

Same thing happened with me & they told me to fill out new I-864w & bring it at the time of interview.

He will get stamp of I-551 permanent residence at POE in his passport which is valid for 1 year.

I am thinking not to pay $165 bcoz after POE I am going to apply for us passport for my son.

Any advice please

Should I pay that $ 165 for my son or not?

Bcoz he will become us citizen after Poe .

I submitted my passport on Tuesday.

Did u choose ur passport deliver or pick up? I chose pick up option. My concern is How can I know my passport is ready to pick up.

If u have received ur passprot, pls update.

I chooses to pickup.so far after issued on 31 July it got updated on 2 aug but didnot recieved any details of passport from embassy.

I recieved email from ustraveldocs to pickup passport of my son on 2nd August but not for wife's passport..hopefully Monday

Is it normal or should I be worried about?

Updated on 2 August saying issued but no passport so far.

I recieved email regarding my sons passport that it is ready for pickup today but no information about wife's passport as both case r together.

Just check ur case on ceac website if it got updated that means they have recieved ur passport & other documents.

I submitted my passport on Monday & when I checked on Tuesday it got updated. Today when I checked it said issued.hopefully this helps

Well, it wasn't really good news. Today it shows that our case was "Returned to NVC" which I can only assume is a denial. I am going to do a lot of research now to see what is the next step. Most likely we will reapply. The only other option is to get married in India, but I'm not sure I can do that. For a court marriage I would have to be there for at least 5 weeks. It's too expensive and I really can't take that much time off from work. I'm not sure if a Hindu marriage is an option or the time it would take to do it. I have so much going through my mind right now and I'm really frustrated with the whole process.

I wanted to share that our status was updated again today, July 8th. I want to be hopeful that we will hear something soon. However I have read many cases where someone sees a lot of updates and then they are waiting for months. Does anyone else have any progress to share?

I visited us embassy on 3rd & I found out that on 24 June they sened me email regarding my sons DNA which I didnot recieved but I asked them to resend it.

It was atleast helpful to go to us embassy.

Chances of a visa without DNA are close to nil.

If they request you do DNA dude you have to...no 2 ways around that

with all the red-flags

I know that bro but in the letter it says you may wish to have DNA conducted to verify relationship.

They r not forcing me to have DNA test.

I think they might do field investigation or something but I have lots of proff for ur relationship

If this was me I'd schedule & pay for DNA as CO ordered

Buy my own kit when I get back o USA to do a quick check on my own with my son

Get an attorney..........Its too many coincidents where dates & relationships R

bumping off & around the immigrating part of things....seemif u show on going

relationship it will confirm the CO suspicions....honestly this does not look or sound

I will not do DNA because they asked me that I may do DNA to prove.

If co want to verify its ok call my wife for 2 nd interview or do field investigation . I don't mind it because my case is genuine.

I never lied to us immigration.

At the time if citizenship I mentioned that I have girlfriend & 1 son to me in India.

As per law I could not get married to her before 5 yrs of PR.
