I have a question. My Malaysia passport will expire next year December. I know it is still a year away but passport is unavailable to travel 6months ahead from expiry date. When I decide to renew my passport at Malaysia Chicago Embassy in the near future, but my AoS is stamped on my old passport, what should I do? Usually when after renewed passport, the officer will destroy the old passport. One of my friend told me that, if I inform the officer I have important stamp/visa, they will just cut out the page from the old passport and give it to me.

I wasn't sure about it, and wondering any of you experience the same situation? and will they denied my renew if found I have I-551 stamp?
