There are a number of Malagasy students attending University in Tennessee. Their visa was issued from Tana but they're here on student visas.
I'm not familiar with the DV though but am certain it is issued right there in Tana. Where are you thinking of living in the US?

I'd love to work as a teacher for other students in hairdressing! I've been hired as a teacher and examiner at hairdressing-schools in Sweden before, but I don't have any education for being a teacher. Everything I can rely on, is my skills for being a hairstylist.
It doesn't matter if I'll get a job as a hairstylist working at a salon, or if I'll get a job as a teacher. As long as I find the job to be professional I'm fine.
I found this page on the internet: http://www.amandagillespie.com/
It's a woman who have an agency which specialises to help hairdressers (mostly) to get a visa in the US. Is it worth to contact her? I mean, I still need to find a salon or school that hires me first, right?
You might want to google her name. Looks like she's been investigated for being an imposter/fraud.

That's not true. It depends on what status you adjusting from
Only K1 could be possibly transfer to CSC without interview. Everybody else will and must have an interview to be approved.
Whoops - silly me... sorry for the confusion.

Hi everyone,
I married my wife who is US citizen, and we filed our AOS on May29th. I still haven't got any scheduled interview letter yet. Many people, who filed their AOS around same time as I did, seemed to have interview notice or get it done already. Is it normal to take this long? We live in LA and our case is being processed at National Benefit Center (MSC). By the way, I got my EAD and AP card on May 13.
Another VJ member that is in LA had their AOS sent to the CA Service Center and also hasn't received an interview letter.
FYI, NBC doesn't process AOS cases. NBC initially receives the case, reviews to ensure everything is in order and then either forwards the case to your local office or if your local office is behind, forwards the case to CSC.
Have your checked the USCIS on-line status of your case?

Bank statements are NOT mandatory.....we included "none" also.
I misunderstood your post - thank goodness because I was planning for an RFE - sorry about that!
-
I'm confused - where does it say bank statements are mandatory? We included none.
The I-864 specifically states this information is optional and is NOT REQUIRED if the total income exceeds the Federal Poverty Guidelines. page 5, part 7 of the I-864 or page 8, part 7 of the I-864 instructions.

I like the chart but suggest you add the field letters to a copy of the receipt.
I also like the ides of a copy of the layout of the receipts with the translation put into them - think this would be the easiest to understand.
What ever you decide to do be sure to include this statement on the translated copy.
I, (translator's name), certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and [the foreign language] languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled .

This is the USCIS translation policy as seen here: http://www.visajourn...nt/translations
and on the USCIS site here: http://www.uscis.gov...0000ecd190aRCRD

No, the "Notification of Birth Registration" is not a birth certificate.
You can contact the Vital Records for the state where your mother was born to obtain a copy of the birth certificate.

Sorry but it's a scam - they're trying to get your money.

If your name appears in "Sender" (think that's it for Chase) then you don't have to sign your name.
Some money orders have a signature/payer field on the front of the money order where you sign, i.e. MoneyGrams.

I used a felt tip pen. A pencil or pen didn't work out well.

My joint sponsor is married and filed tax with his wife. He is also a salary earner. He didn't give me any W2 but just the first page of his 1040 which has their total income. With your suggestions, I think I will just have to tell him to give me all his tax returns document together with the W2. Or what do you think?
Thanks.
Did your friend complete a I-864? Did he have the instructions?
You will either need a copy of his complete tax forms, W2s and any 1099s or a copy of his tax transcript and his W2s and any 1099s. FYI - normally W2s/1099s are not required with a tax transcript but if he filed married and you are only using his income then his W2s/1099s are needed.
Did he send you a copy (front and back) of his birth certificate or a copy of the biographic page of his passport?
-
We filed our 2011 tax through turbo tax and I am currently preparing my docs for affidavit of support. Where should we sign the 1040? Thanks!
Look around page 4 - it's the page that shows the refund amount or the amount you owed.
You'll see the Sign Here . You'll want to sign and date the page.
-
Congratulations to all receiving their EADs and interview appointments.
Trefletatoo I hope you received the job confirmation and mrsGORE I hope your mailbox didn't disappoint you.

No, the 1040 should be at least 2 pages long if he's single.
Almost at the very end of the 1040 it will say Sign Here and there should be a signature and then a date. Is that there?
You need to call your friend and let him know you need a copy of the signed 2011 1040 that he filed with the IRS.
He can also have a tax transcript faxed to him - Call 1-800-908-9946.
-
If your joint sponsor filed his taxes using an online service like Turbo Tax you will want to make sure that the 1040 is signed by the joint sponsor.
-
What do you think you are missing? The 2011 1040 is the form most of us use to file our taxes. It's not "just a summary" but the 1040 is the form we are required to file.
If your joint sponsor makes enough the current taxes should be sufficient. There's no requirement to send 3 years worth of 1040s. It's good he provided a letter from his employer.
Our joint sponsor earned well above the required amount and we only submitted the tax information for the current year, 2011.

Study this: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/types/types_1268.html
Read this section:
A beginning student who wants an earlier entry into the U.S. (more than 30 days prior to the course start date), must qualify for, and obtain a visitor visa.

You would answer Yes - you are the primary sponsor, your husband is a joint sponsor.
-
Sponsor's I-864 (husband's) - include copies of all W2s and 1099s
Joint Sponsor's I-864 - include copies of all W2s and 1099s.
Don't think the letter explaining any differences is needed - USCIS will look at one field on the tax return to determine if your joint sponsor makes enough to meet the income requirements. I'm sure other's will chime in on this one.
Receipts for the photos are not needed.
If you are taking your husband's last name, be sure to use the new last name on the "family name" fields on all forms so your new last name are on the EAD and GD.
Happy filing!

No doors have closed yet... no signs it's "not meant to be" - this process is just challenging for everyone.
Remain positive and best of luck to you guys!
