Yes, most of us did. I recommend you do so because of the holiday break coming up and the 19th is only a few days before the Christmas break.

Think of it the other way around. The only way to make the timelines equal between paper and online filers would be to artificially slow down the online filing process which is certainly not fair either.

It is not "artificially" slowing down the online filers, it is "fairly" processing all applications in a fair matter. It simply has to be fair for all applicants, so everyone will wait in line and get their fair share of months and months of waiting. Efficiency of applying on line is meant to make it efficient and easy for both applicants and USCIS to send and receive applications electronically, that "efficiency" should not be extended to 60 percent faster than normal processing times that leads to a faster naturalization. Once again, it should be about fairness.
To clarify, the IO didn't say what month of online filers she was reviewing that day. I just happened to be a September filer filing on an over a 5-year residency. I'll have to agree with IPv6Freely that I don't think online filers are jumping ahead of papers filers just because it was done online. I got lucky that the field office I was assigned to is much smaller compared to the Los Angeles or the Santa Ana offices. It also don't think it would be fair to keep a file that passes all clearances waiting around until all prior filings are done in a different office. It would only create a bigger backlog.
Anyways, i didn't mean to stir the debate of which one is faster. I just thought her comment was interesting and related to the original poster saying that it doesn't matter what type of filing you do since it varies by field office.

Hello all,
I had my interview yesterday and my application approved. The USCI website was updated today showing that on Nov. 3 my application was approved and that my oath date has been scheduled. I was assigned to a much smaller field office, previous one was Los Angeles location for ROC, which could partly be why my case moved a lot faster than most and I filed on the 5-year residency.
I checked-in 15-20 minutes before my appointment. I'm not sure what time my IO called me in because I turned my phone off but it had to be 5-10 minutes after my appointment time since a new TV program on CNN had just started. My IO was very nice and chatty which was a relief since I'm not a small talk type of person lol. My interview lasted about 50 minutes, but I think that was because she accidentally restarted her computer before she called me in so she had to set that up for a bit.
IO asked for my GC and ID so she can scan into the system then she asked about my last name change. Because her system was still not up fully she said if I had submitted documents showing my name change. I told her yes and that I actually had uploaded several documents more than once because the online system would't let me delete them. She finally had my application up and confirmed the times I had submitted each document lol. A little after she started testing me on reading first and then writing. Because I was a tad bit nervous I accidentally omitted the line in the letter "i", only putting the period on the word. She looked at it and asked if that was correct or if there was something missing. I quickly looked at it and corrected it. Yikes!!! We then moved to questions and I got all first 6 correct so she stopped there. She said that I had passed the difficult part of the testing, which left me wondering what else was there for her to test me on.
After a few minutes of small talk and other computer stuff she started to review my N-400. She briefly reviewed each part and had to fix certain portions of my application were instead of putting "To Present" on certain dates the online system automatically put the date I submitted my application, Sept. 12. After reviewing all the personal information portion she paused for a bit and started to ask me the Yes/No questions in Part 12 of the application, including questions 45-50. We finished and she had me sign on a decisive similar to an iPad to confirm my information was correct and that I approved the changes made. She looked at her computer screen and blurred out that there were no other issues, printed something and in a nonchalant manner said that she was recommending or approving my application, I can't remember, and that in the paper she was printing it would say "congratulations..." She then handed me my approval form and went over details about the oath ceremony date, which surprisingly will be in a couple of weeks. She told me she was to informed that days applicants who were approved that they would be taking their oath in LA on November 16th. She closed my file and placed it behind her and ended the interview. I had a question for her about some stuff which reminded her that she had to write something in my file lol. And that was that!
On a side note, between our small talks she mentioned that yesterday she was doing July paper applications (she didn't specify if those were interviews or reviews) and today all seemed be online filers. That they, not sure if she meant her office or all field offices, were trying to balance paper and online filers. I blurred out "oh is that why my application moved a lot faster" but she didn't say yes or no or continue to provide more information. I didn't want to pry too much either because I just wanted to continue the interview and be done with it.

It's frustrating that the process is not uniform across USCIS field offices and is not always first-come first-serve also.
I'm a September filer and had my interview yesterday at the San Bernardino office here in California, which is a much smaller field office compared to the Los Angeles office. The IO made a comment that the day before she was doing July paper filings (not sure if IO meant interviews or reviews) and that today they all seemed to be online filers. That they, not sure if IO meant that field office or all USCIS offices, were trying to balance out paper and online applications. I didn't ask what makes the online move faster since I'm sure it varies by case but it seems like they are trying to get every application moving forward.

No they didn’t. I checked a few times a day and it was finally uploaded like 3-5 days later.

Yes and no lol. I started doing the online reviews when I first applied and did good. I tried to study yesterday but instead organized and gathered all papers needed for my interview. I’ll review throughout this week and hopefully all my elementary and high school US history classes kick in.

I don't see anything new under the documents section, or the recent notices.
It’ll take a few days for the letter to be uploaded. I got the same notice a day after I did my finger prints and checked everyday for them to upload the letter. My took about 4 days to be uploaded, including the weekend.

I got the same email yesterday and freaked the hell out. I thought they canceled my interview date and put me back in line, but that wasn't the case. Must be an automatic email that's part of the new upgrade.

I’m a September filer and received notice that an interview was scheduled on Friday. My interview letter was uploaded yesterday and that also showed up, different number though. I’m not sure what RFE stands for but it seems like a count down. Probably something new when they upgraded the website?

Question re the interview letter: I'm applying for naturalization based on 5-year residency. In my interview letter, below where it states the items you must bring, it says that IF APPLYING FOR NATURALIZATION AS THE POUSE OF A UNITED STATES CITIZEN you must bring so and so. So my question is, did everyone else have that information in their letter?

My interview letter was finally uploaded today and my interview is scheduled for November 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. I'm very surprised by how fast the process is going as I expected to have an interview early next year.

Question: MyUSCIS now says "We scheduled your interview | View your letter on your documents tab for the interview date, time, and location", letter has not been uploaded yet. Is this normal? I received an email earlier in the morning with a status so I checked MyUSICS but nothing there, then i checked EGOV and it said "Interview was scheduled". Could they have possibly scheduled my interview already or is this a system fluke?

Received an email notice that there was a case update. Nothing has been updated on MyUSCIS besides that a case update has been made. I looked at EGOV and it says that an interview has been scheduled. Crossing my fingers that I get lucky like a few others and it'll be scheduled soon.

I called the USCIS help line yesterday to see if I could go to a different place than the one I was signed to on my notice and to double check that I didn't need to go to the USCIS offices but the near Application Support Center. The agent explained to me that you don't go to your local field office or local USCIS office but that you can go to any Application Support Center to do your biometrics. That it is up to the application center to take you in as a walk-in if they aren't busy. I went right after I got off the phone with them and got lucky that there was no one in line or anyone waiting to be finger printed. So my point is to make sure you aren't going to the local field office instead of the application support center. =]

If you file online the system will let you know which documents you need as you answer the questions. As for the picture, without reviewing the USCIS information packet, you only need a picture if you are applying from outside the USA. Review the USCIS N-400 packet for complete details.

Received an email saying my case status has been updated. MyUSCIS shows:
We reviewed your biometrics
You do not need to do anything at this time
We will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your application.
The estimated time for an interview is 6 months and they updated the case completing to April 2018 when before it was May 2018.
The EGOV status says that my case is being reviewed as of September 26 and that nothing is outstanding.

I did my biometrics today as a walk-in. No line or much waiting. I was probably in and out within 15-20 minutes. Can someone update the information please.

Can someone confirm the address for the biometrics location. I’m confused if I should go to the Santa Ana Field Office or the Tustin Application Support Center.

I actually have a question. My notice is sending me to a USCIS office within the county I live in but not in the same county my assigned field office is located at, so can I go to a different USCIS office in a complete different county? I work about an hour from my home and there is a USCIS office near my work which is more convenient for me.

I also advise the same since something similar happened to me at my interview. Another poster also recommended that it wouldn’t hurt to bring copies of taxes for the last 3-5 years, although both of us applied under the 5-year rule. Her interviewer asked for her taxes and mine didn’t but it’s good to have just in case.
