  1. Thank you for the post it helped us too. Spoke to a tier 2 representative on Thursday 20 June, 2013 and she said our case is now at the local office and has passed the processing time. She put in a service request, we made an info pass appointment for 3 July, 2013 but lo and behold, the approval email came today just 4days after. good luck to everyone waiting for approval

Finally got approved for my Green Card. I am so excited! smile.png But it was kind of weird how it happened. I phoned the central number last month to see what was happening and they said that they hadn't yet reached the limit of their processing times, but they would in June.

So I called them last Friday and they agreed that they were now past the processing time and so would raise an inquiry with the Rhode Island office. Monday morning I had an email from the Rhode Island saying I was approved! That's it. No interview, no waiting, no going past Go and collecting 200.

Therefore if you are still waiting and you believe you're past the processing time, I definitely recommend calling them.

    Schedule:

August 2012: Arrived from the UK on K-1

    September 2012: Got married

    October 2012: Applied for AOS

    November 2012: Biometrics

    June 2013: AOS Approved

  2. APPROVED!!!

Here's a little snapshot on how it worked out:

On May 2nd, I called USCIS and spoke with a tier-2 rep who put in a service request and gave me a reference number to call back in 15 days if they hadn't reply. After the 15 days and nothing from them, I called back and they told me to add 30 more days (I was super frustrated, attempted to make an info pass appointment at our local office in Baltimore but to no avail).

So on June 20th, after my husband read someone's post on here, that called a tier-2 and was able to get a service request put in at their local office and subsequent approval a week later; he (my hubby) called and the tier-2 rep he spoke with told him that she will put in a service request at our local field office (our case is already there). We made an info pass appointment the following day for July 3rd just to cover our bases (It turns out we wouldn't need it)

Today, the 24th, we got our approval email!:)kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

...Sending a lot of good vibes to our fellow October filers yet to be approved- yours is almost here too!!!

    AOS

    Date Filed : 10/22/2012 NOA Date : 10/27/2012 RFE(s) : Bio. Appt. : 11/07/2012 Interview Date : No interview Approval / Denial Date : 06/24/2013 Approved : Yes
  3. Same here.. the USCIS website shows our case number but it's still in the "acceptance" stage at NBC. We received the EAD/AP combo card though, which is good. I have a feeling that I'm one of those people that is going to be waiting a looong time. bleh!

In my own opinion, i think USCIS do take their time with AOS UK filers; i have noticed processing time of 5month+ and interview waiving trend on this forum.

Maybe you should look at this link here. This person was denied , no RFE. Even after the interview when they could have just simply sent an RFE. Never say that it will not apply to a case and it only applies to I-130 or I-129f, that is not true. It can happen to many types of cases. You never know the U.S. they suprise us all the time with their inconsistences and constant changing of policies.

From the above link it shows:

1.) They could not find her admission details in their system

2.) OP claimed his wife SUPPOSEDLY lied about her POE

That's deception and it is an outright denial anyday.

  5. Hello Rob,

I want to believe here that ur wife to be is the petitioner? if Yes, since by the time you will be applying for AOS, her name would still be in her maiden name. I will advice you leave it as it is. Unless, you plan to have her name changed before you turn in the application.

    I-765

    Yes it is c9.

    I-864

    SSN = NONE

I think you only need to fill question E if you are combining the beneficiary's income.

    I-131

Section 3 says if you are applying for a travel documents go to section 7, so you do no need to worry on other sections between.

where it says date intended departure and expected length trip it is unknown

  6. Hi, part of the vaccines was done in London and varicella was done here in the United States. Instruction for I-693 says we need to fill out part 1 and the vaccine page to be completed by a Civil Surgeon. But @ the end of part1 it says "do not sign or date this form until instructed by a Civil Surgeon". To our surprise, the Civil surgeon refuses claiming we didnt have our vaccines and physical done @ his. Hence, he could only transcribe to all the vaccines we provided and that he has nothing to do with the part1. Though, he handed a sealed envelop to us containing the vaccines transcription. so, how do we do the Part1 which says we must be authorized b4 we could sign and dated it?

  7. Hi All -- just got our interview date by calling DOS, and thought I'd share our timeline for others that are waiting as well.

We sent all of the "Packet 3" documents, including DS2001 on August 28. Laura's medical exam was on August 30. After patiently waiting a couple of weeks I called DOS yesterday (Sept 18). They told me that their system showed everything logged as being received one day earlier, Monday, September 17, but no interview date yet. I called again today (Sept 19) and they did have an interview date in their system: October 3, 2012... only 2 weeks away!

We still haven't received a formal letter, of course, but it sounds like they assigned the date today and we'll hopefully get the official notice shortly. I am a little surprised at the close timing between now and the interview date (we didn't mention a specific wedding date or travel plans, so I assumed there'd be at least a 4 week spread), but very happy and grateful about this news. (And really hoping the rep at DOS was looking at the correct file! :D )

We actually sent all the DS forms(notice of readiness included) on the 11th, the same day of medical and I called DOS today and we are scheduled for an interview on the 26th of this month. We did indicate on our cover letter that we'd be available for an interview at the shortest notice. :secret:

  9. After 8 months of AP and a total of 17 months of waiting my fiance finally picked up his visa today!!! Finally this day came :) Thank you all for your help and support. VJ and it's member Rock! I am just greatfull to Allah that my fiance finally has his visa and we can move on with our lives. The journey does not end here my friends so will keep you posted on our visa journey :)

    Wow! Congratulations

  10. So I need help with answering question 8 of the affidavit of support form I -134. My mom is my co-sponsor as I'm a full time medical student with zero income. I live at home right now with my parents while preparing for my board exam. She makes very well over the 125% required above the poverty guidelines with a household of 2(herself and my dad) and she files her taxes separately from my dad (He's working as well), so my question is does she have to list him and myself as partial dependents on the I-134 even though she doesn't claim any dependents on her tax return?

  11. I'm also in London for the duration of the Games with my fiance and I'm blown away by how polite everyone is in this country even during rush hour on the subway. I just wish they could make up their minds whether to 'keep left' or 'keep right'. Either way it's sure nice to have a distraction from this visa petition business.

Oh and can i just say.. I actually looked forward to passing through immigration here and being able to proudly say I'm visiting my US fiance without any fear of it being a red flag. It's the little things huh?
