  1. I think I am not able to make you understand the meaning of having an appointment letter. Nevermind I think people here on this forum are just waiting to vent out their frustration on those who have a complicated case instead of giving suggestions. Carry on with it.

  2. Got Green card February 2014 -
Married on 4th of July 2014 (outside US) -
Case applied for wife - PD 25th August 2014.
I have been to USA thrice altogether .. during the last 18 months.

Reason for stay - Marriage, Job and waiting for Spouse visa.

However I have the following documents as proof of domicile

    1. Email correspondence of Jobs applied in US during first trip (got a job as well, so have the welcome letter)
    2. Bank account since February 2014.
    3. Driving License
    4. Permanent mailing address proof - Bank mails and Driving license
    5. "Rent" agreement with sister (it says that me and my spouse will reside with her free of cost for the first 6 months and then pay rent)
    6. 2 job offers - one from US and the second from my current employers in the country of my residence. Both starts from April 2016.

    7. Social security number.

    8. By the time (hopefully) my spouse gets the call for the interview...we will have the appointment letter for her for a job in US from a local organisation of the current country of residence.

Other things that may seem irrelevant

    1. Spouse got a J1 visa from US state department for 10 months, during the same time we got married we decided to cancel it because State department restricted her getting married to a Permanent resident till the fellowship ended. Visa was cancelled without prejudice.... (we had good intentions to not sneak in the US and instead get married go properly) I know good intentions don't count in the embassy but will it favor us... (She has been to the US in 2013) same J1 visa ...State department trip for one month.

    2. She will take Spanish classes (from an accredited institution from Spain's Embassy) for getting a decent job in Florida or at least try to..so will such moves be of any good.

Please suggest for improvement in order to further prove US domicile ....and evaluate this case

  3. Yes I know that part. The "whole purpose."

It's just been 18 months since I got the PR. 10 months after which I got married.

I had to wait for 13 years to get the immigration...it takes time to completely leave your home country..especially when you martial status changes...! My employer have officially given me go ahead to hire my service in the US...

I am just waiting for the immigration of my wife who can't stay alone in the country.

I understand that my case isn't strong which is why I am here to understand if I can try to make it as strong as possible. Instead of my wife waiting for a couple of years. But thanks for your valuable reply.

  4. NO NO.

I go back to the US after every 7-8 months, so re-entry is not the problem.

Affidavit of Support Part 4 - item 5 asks for country of domicile.

what do I write there? I am outside of US because of my wife, and will shift when she gets the immigration.
I also have a US bank account.

Do i just attach a separate document stating this reason and bank account details as an evidence to establish ..??????

  5. NVC steps

    Agent - Chosen
    Fee - Paid
Visa application form - Submitted (online)

    Question and help

I am the petitioner applying for my wife. I am a permanent resident living outside the US in my native country same as my wife (because waiting for my wife's immigration before finally residing in the US)

I am working in my native country.

    1. What form do I fill for affidavit of support? if possible please share link.
    2. Do I have to show the income of my native country? If yes, how? Its not in dollars and doesn't exceed $1100/month
    3. I can use my sister and her husband's income for the AOS. What forms will they need to fill and what documents do they need to provide?

Is there something else I should do and know for the AOS?

  6. I have sent the DS-261 form (choice of agent)
The NVC says that "Please allow 15 days for the NVC to process your DS-261 before continuing to the next step."

Do I wait for an email from NVC or mail at the physical address to pay the fee for the following

    • Immigrant Visa Application Processing Fee
    • Affidavit of Support Fee
  7. I am a permanent resident since 2014 January.
Applied for my wife's immigration in August 2014.
I have visited the US thrice and stayed there for not more than one month, since I plan to shift there completely once my wife gets the visa and we sell off our property in my native country.

My wife's case has been accepted and is now in NVC. I am the agent (petitioner)
Will pay the fees once I get an email from NVC
I want to know what do I do about the financial affidavit, since I am not working in the US.
I have my sister and brother in Law who will give one to me but since I am the petitioner, what sorts of problems will me and my wife face for NVC approval?
Do I need to fill in a affidavit form with zero income (in the US)

    Please advise

  8. My visa is F4 category. It was applied 12 years ago. So for the first 10 years I wanted to stay for good in the US. But things change and so do circumstances.

I think its beyond common sense that people should stop living their lives accordingly because the US government applied retrogression.

I know quite a few people doing this. They go for a visit and then come back, sometimes at the airport questions are asked indeed. But quitting everything in a few months is close to impossible for anyone as a matter of fact. I didn't know 12 years...in fact 2 years ago when exactly will I get the VISA.

If I find a decent job there I will stay for good...even if its the first visit.

  9. Got the passport after three days of interview.

    Ticket is expensive $1400.

I am not going to go for good...since I have a decent job in my country. Will keep traveling for at least 2 years.

My question is ... once I land..how long will it take for me to get the green card. And if I return in 20-25 days would it be ok if I don't get the green card till then, and still a couple of months left on visa expiry?

  10. Interview Date: 8th October

    Embassy : Islamabad, Pakistan

    Category : F4

    PD : 27th July 2001

I reached Embassy shuttle service at 6:45am, deposited my mobile phone and got the bus ticket (200 rupees for US embassy)

You get in after security check, then get the finger scanning done. Doesn't take more than 10-15 minutes for this.

They send u to another hall where the interviews are going on. When my name (token) was called, a Pakistani guy (with a rude tone) asked for my medical certificate, passport and the petitioners (sister's) original birth certificate. They had it but he asked for it (moron didn't know they already had it)

After another 15 mins of wait, I was called at a counter where the American Visa Officer took oath from me, as to whatever information that I have provided is correct.

Asked me a few questions about the petitioner and her kids, and asked for any pictures of my and petitioner together.

After seeing the pictures, the visa officer said "Congrats your visa has been approved I can collect it from Fed-Ex in a weeks time from American Express in Lahore once I get a call on my mobile"

I checked the next day (9th October) on CEAC website and it says administrative processing.

I thought she approved my visa and said I can take it in a weeks time. I guess it didn't mean the visa is given.

12 years of wait and they can't just issue me a AP so that I know my visa is not approved.
