  1. Finally! Our NOA 2 was approved just yesterday. There were no problems with our application yet we had to wait an unbearable 283 days for NOA2. I was on the verge of leaving this country too. It had been promise after promise that our application would be completed and they'd keep making us wait 30 days and then 60 days and so forth. Finally, there is some closure and progress. The worst part was they'd never give a reason or answer any of our questions as to why it was so delayed. I'm very happy that our application was finally approved, but the whole process has left me quite bitter. Let's hope that the application from here on out will go much smoother.

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words of support this whole time.

  2. Hi everyone, I'm still checking for any status update everyday, but nothing has changed. The wait is killing us. NOA 1 on May 9th, 2012. Today makes it 273 days of waiting for NOA 2 (8 months 25 days). It makes me think that getting married in Japan would have been much quicker. We're supposed to hear a reply by February 15th after having contacted our congressman.

Congratulations on those of you who have seen progress!

  3. Haha..I am waiting for NOA 2 too and it's been languishing for 16months and none of us knows the reason. USCIS won't tell u any reason but "still in review", unless u receive an RFE. Hang on there..it will come sooner than u think.

Christ... I can't believe that, 16 months. We got our NOA1 on May 9th, 2012 and we are still waiting to this long day for NOA2. Contacted our congressman as well. 264 days and counting. Some days I feel like expatriating just to be reunited again.

  4. That is insane! Have you tried writing one of your state senators? Within three weeks of writing my letter to my senator I got a RFE. After waiting almost 7 months, at least it's something...

I try and not think too much about the VSC because it just makes me upset.

Yes, I mailed a letter to my congressman and they contacted the USCIS. The reply was that we have to wait another 30 days for a reply. That will be until February 15th. It's a nightmare and calling doesn't bring me any answers. I can only wait it out and warn others that their applications might be as delayed as mine.

  5. I swear to God waiting for NOA2 has been the most frustrating experience of my life and the lack of answers makes my blood boil. NOA 1 on May 9th, 226 days later and still nothing. I filed a service request on December 5th and got no answer within the allotted time so I made another call and they say that I've got to wait another 60 days until February 18th, 2013. I had recently moved from Pennsylvania to California and I told them to change my address on December 14th. Then they decided to mail a letter on December 18th to my old address in Pennsylvania! (The contents saying that I have to wait another 60 days). I knew beforehand this type of ###### would happen. If by February 18th I get no answer I'm contacting all of my congressmen to rain hell on USCIS.

  6. Looks like the Vermont Center updated their processing times for the I-129F up to May 28th, 2012. Finally, that allowed our application (NOA1 May 9th) to be overdue and so today I called and asked for a service request. They say that they'll have a notice by December 20th and gave me a service request number. At least that's some progress. Here's hoping for an answer before long.

  7. I feel you :( Did you try calling?? I called today and they finally let me put in a service request. They told me they should be replying back to me by Dec. 15th..The waiting game is not over yet!!!

Yeah, I called two days ago and they told me everything that I already know from the internet. I'm happy that they put in that service request for you. I will think about putting one in very soon, if it is possible.

  8. I'm glad to hear that most everyone else seems to have received their replies. Unfortunately, it's been a frustrating time waiting and worrying for ours to go through. NOA1 was on May 9th and still nothing on today, November 20th. 195 days and counting. I'm petitioning for my fiance in Japan and ours is being processed through the Vermont Center. I sure hope it comes soon. Is there anyone else in the same boat as us?
