  1. My fiancé was definitely in the minority at St. Luke's, not many men getting k1 visas. I can imagine how he will feel at the CFO seminar.

What right does the Philippine govt have to get involved in our relationship!?! I mean, it took some time to teach him the right way. He knows to say "yes ma'am, may I have another?" But what about after the seminar... Is he going to stand up to me now? Men should know their place... Working like slaves so I can go shopping or to the salon... And have my dinner ready when I get home... Or... Well there are consequences... If this messes with our balance of power in the relationship.., I might just have to write a wordy message to both the Philippine government and my senator... Women have come too far to go back 40 years...

Lol!!! I think it's dumb he has to go,,, but... It is what it is...

  2. I sent my papers via Priority USPS to MNL. It was cheaper but arrived late and I was nervous... Won't do that again. He was charged Customs Fees even though they were only documents... I'm not surprised...

  3. It looks like Guam is the POE. Today the cheapest flight next week to ATL shows IAD instead of O'Hare, same price. There's a layover in Honolulu. Total 27 hours. That's about three hours longer than my flights usually take but I typically fly Delta with only two layovers.

My fiancé isn't traveling til May but I'm keeping an eye on flight costs with Kayak alerts.

  4. FYI there is a sale on United for flights this week and next. It's $742 to Chicago and $749 to Atlanta (thru Chicago). Those are the only two destinations I tried.

There's a stop in Guam. Most of the layovers don't seem too long.

Suggest use the flexible option on United's website to see the lowest fares.

  5. To update on my post... It took 13 business days for recipient to receive the notification to pick it up at the post office. He's in metro manila so it should not have taken so long. After the 10th business day, I starting to really question whether it would arrive. The tracking information was not current on USPS. Apparently after it arrives in Philippines they have little visibility. I later realized they also had tracking details on the Philippine postal website but the last update was the seventh business day.

I emailed about every contact I could find on the Philippine postal website. The only one that responded so far was ems.cs@philpost.gov.ph.

The USPS customer service could not help me and opened a case. Told me I'd receive a response in writing within 60 days.

I would strongly suggest avoid the worry and pay the extra money for FedEx or UPS.

My fiancé will pickup the package tomorrow. I pray it is in tact with all documents still there...

  6. June filer. Mine was 213 days, I had two service requests, did not get approval within a week of either one. My senator got involved and didn't get approval within a week of him contacting VSC either. It's just a waiting game. Contacting the senator did help my nerves, he assured me my petition was being looked at.

I didn't have RFE either. It will happen for sure. I know it sux not knowing what's going on with it...

  7. If you move after NOA2, you will need to also notify NVC prior to your application being sent to Embassy.

I changed mine online with USCIS and replied same day asking me to contact NVC as well. I emailed NVC, overnighted a letter and called them.

I had the most success using the phone, they were able to change it in their system right then. I never heard back on the letter I sent. They replied to my email conveniently two weeks later and day after paperwork was sent to Embassy. Claimed my file had already left and I would have to update Embassy. Hopefully they entered it correctly over the phone.

  8. I used USPS priority mail, they said it would arrive in a week. It was over 3 lbs and cost about $45. I didn't realize until I asked for tracking slip after paying that they don't have a usual tracking ID. They gave me a Customs ID number and phone number and said I could track it that way. It has been less than a week so I haven't tried yet. Also I sent it to Fiances work address since I've had more luck sending things there than to his home. This Saturday will be a week... Keeping fingers crossed!!

Also on USPS website it says you save up to 5% if you ship online and Track and Confirm Tool is an option. Idk why I didn't have this option at the post office?

  9. I got my approval from VSC yesterday, 7 months for K-1. I am sooo relieved. I had checked the website early that morning and there was no update. In the afternoon I got a text and email. They were sent at the same time: 4:15pm. The text stated to check the website and email said I am approved. Later that same day I got another text and email for the post decision activity.

  10. we have the same problem it's been 6 months but my noa2 is not yet approve my fiance called uscis they told them we should been approved last nov. but the customer representative connected us to the officer and told us that they still processing the may 28th filers. she said that it depends on the workload. my fiance asked them that our case status is out of processing time then she told us that is only a estimate time frame and not exact... im hoping that my noa2 will be approve soon because i saw june filers already been approved...

me too june 21st filer not yet approve... i think VSC are slow

I have June 4 NOA1. No news on NOA2 and No RFE. Yes they are slow for some and quick for others... I've been seeing some of the early June filers getting NOA2 recently, along with July... Keeping my fingers crossed I will be next.

  11. Going on 7 months now. No word. No RFE. No way to find out anything. The government has the dates on the websites set up where they do not have to deal with anything because it is still within "normal processing time". This normal processing timeframe is based on a table of all of the apps that was last updated OCTOBER 30th!!! The uscis page says K1 VSC 5.2 months, the other page says on Oct 30 they were doing app NOA1 date May 28th!! Gives them a loophole from which they do not have to do any work to check on your app when you call them.

Hi JJ, I've had the same bull story from them. I was able to convince an officer to give me a service request on the basis their times were outdated on the web but it didn't help. Got a letter telling me to wait 60 days. My last call to USCIS I spoke to another officer who said I need to stop writing and calling them, that it may delay my case more if they have to pull it from the adjunctor that's already working on it. My contact at my senator's office returns next week, will speak to him again... Don't know what else to do. Next week will be 7 months.

  12. Today is 205 days and waiting for NOA2, no RFE. My senator's office is involved and very helpful but still... I guess they can't speed up the slowness at VSC. At least they have assured me my case is with an adjunctor.

For anyone else still waiting over 6+ months, know there are others out there also waiting... You are not alone.

  13. I am beyond jealous of you right now. I have been waiting 45 days and nothing.

I'm over 6.5 months, waiting. Thought I'd be approved long time ago. I understand from my senator they hadn't touched my application until a week ago. It's not fair of course that some get processed before others. I spent a lot of time preparing my submission and others too so I doubt it has anything to do with the package. However I do not begrudge the petitioner, it is an unfair system. I would have celebrated too if I had been so lucky. Congrats to the couple, they are very blessed with good news!

  14. You can continue the witch hunt all day, but I fail to see what is so mystifying about the fact that they were processing a lot of the early May applicants in early November (as they did mine). It is a little over a month later and they are are working on early June applicants.

I think you just need to wait a little while and start getting uppity at the 7 month point. :luv:

    Hi Nola,

Good point. I don't understand why the website shows they were working on end of May applications at the end of October? Maybe their stats are screwed up.

  15. Do a service request.

Hi FB14, apparently the system will not allow a service request until the posted processing date is after the NOA1 date. I don't know if this is a recent change or...

I shouldn't be penalized because USCIS doesn't update their website...

Well it's the government and my congressman is also government... Guess I shouldn't trust either of them.

I also put in a request with my senator's office... I'm a supporter of my senator so I really hope he doesn't drink the same coolaid. Lol.

Mine was approved in almost 7 months time frame at the VSC - and it was accepted in early May. You should have an update very shortly. California Service Center seemed to be moving a little quicker. Did you sign up for email and text alerts on the USCIS website.

Hi Jackie, yep signed up in June. :)

Ah... 7 months... I thought VSC had sped up some... Maybe not... I just want to hear by Christmas
