I don't know if our experience was typical but......
We had a bag full of documentation. Fresh financials and tax returns...pictures....utility bills...credit card bills....affidavits from friends who know us as a couple....etc, etc, etc. We were never asked for any of it.

We had a new one completed, along with a current tax return. The interviewer didn't ask for either one.

If she is going to take your last name, you should file using her married name.
I agree. Filing the AOS application is the perfect time to start using her new name (assuming she is going to change her name). It will be more complicated if you put it off.

My wife will have her K-3 visa issued next week. We will then pursue an AOS when she arrives here. After everything is said and done, and she has her greencard and work permit, can she travel internationally? What restrictions, if any, are there? Thanks.
Stan
Here is a site that I have found helpful when traveling with my wife (who is a citizen of the Philippines and a Permanent Resident of the United States).

I have just receieved my AOS appointment and as a K1 visa holder I have already had my medical. All my vaccinations were done at the time of the K1 interview so does this mean I don't need to submit a vaccination supplement at this interview? If I do does anyone know if a Military MD can complete this rather than a civil surgeon?
Thanks in advance
Sarah
If all your vaccinations were done at the original medical exam, you're done. Don't need the supplement.

Hi All,
All has gone well for us, we got married and filed for our AOS & EAD, my journey was a bit rough but thanks to all of you I was able to gauge things step by step.
I have my Biometrics appoitment scheduled this thursday, wanted to know how long does this process take & what all would they ask me do. I would be appearing for the appoitment in Houston.
If possible could anybody help me with the time of EAD how much longer do I have to wait, I filed for my EAD & AOS in the first week of June'06.
Thanks guys!
Biometrics appointment...take your picture and fingerprints. No big deal, and it doesn't take long once you get out of the waiting room.
EAD should come a couple of weeks after the biometrics appointment. AOS interview in about three months. (That was my experience anyway.)
BTW...if you sent in your application in early June and have your appointment already, you're doing very well. Hope your luck continues.

I am moving address so need to fill out an AR-11, but what is my status if I am waiting for AOS, am I a permanent resident? or what should I put under other? I came as a K1 visa, I have received my work permit, but have no idea of my status.
Thanks!
Wording I would use: "K1 - Pending Adjustment of Status"
(You are not a permanent resident until your AOS is approved.)

How long does it usually take from getting biometrics for an AOS to actually having the interview and getting the permanent residency
This is just our experience...your mileage may vary:
Biometrics appointment - early February
EAD arrived in mail two weeks later.
AOS interview - early May
Green Card arrives in mail - mid June.

how long by your experiences before we actually receive the greencard???
Before leaving on a two week vacation I checked the status of our application online. It indicated that a welcome letter had been sent. When we returned, the welcome letter and the green card were in our mail. So...it doesn't take long.
Are we too late?

I agree that, in the end, you won't have a big problem adjusting status. They may, however, ask you some rather pointed questions about what took you so long. Be ready with some good answers. In any case, don't put it off any longer. As long as your wife is out of status, she is in a legal limbo of sorts. And as you have already been advised, do not let her leave the U.S. until she has her green card. You'll be starting all over again.
