  1. As an update to all. We summered our additional documents on Jan 4th and was delivered Jan 6th. And as today Jan 11th the status changed to "issued" and it said visa will be deliver from 7-10 days

That's good news. My status as of yesterday changed from READY - AP - so hoping for positive news in few days. BTW - they haven't called us for any request. *cross finger* hope everything will be okay. To God Be The Glory.

  2. Were you also request to summit additional documents, if so what did they ask for and when did u summit it? Sorry for all the question.. Just trying N to get each other info so we can update wth each other.. Thank you ☺️

Sorry my phone was acting up. Were you asking me Trinitran1453?

  3. Every embassy is different on the processing time for the visa, you would do better to ask this question in the Philippines forum. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Given the number of holidays (U.S. and Philippine) between the interview and today I would say things are moving normal. Just be patient.

    Has you fiance completed CFO?

No, we wanted to wait for the passport to come rather than making two trips. Thank you!

  4. Hi, I need advice about tourist visa. I am a US Citizen living in Philippines for 3 years now and also a dual citizen. I am now 4 months pregnant. We already have plans to delivery my baby in the US - California. Can my boyfriend get a tourist visa even for a 1 week or 2 weeks around my delivery date? If so, what is my process or requirements?

    Thanks you kindly~

  5. There are lots of information on this forums for DCF Filers...when you go to search...look for Direct Consulate Filing...and it will pull up sooo many information that will keep in handy for you. Just research and i know its alot but thats how I got started reading all the information.

I am a USC Nursing student here in Manila and processing my DCF for my fiance next year when we get married here in Manila. Best of luck to us!!

  6. It all depends on what kind of job you are looking for. With the economy and employment status in California - goodluck! You are not alone, there are hundred of people who are looking for a job or just got laid off. If you want something just to get your foot in the door, try working as a retail or customer service at a Department Store, Grocery Store so they see that you have work experience. There are also employment agency who can help you that fits your qualifications. These are called "temporary jobs", meaning contact from 3-6months, unless the company likes you, then they will keep you.

SSN# and SSN card is same thing. I wouldn't carry the SSN card around. Make a copy and leave the original at home. You will only need to memorize your SSN for job applications.

Well I can go on....but in short, don't sweat it. Take it one at a time. If getting a driver's license/permit is necessary than do that first. You can always apply for a California Id, you also get this at the DMV. Goodluck!

  7. Whenever my parents or brother pays for my ticket online. The airline check will ask for authorization. So, ask you fiance to email you stating he/she has authorize to use a credit card acct # xxx...for you name etc stuff like that. And yes credit card copy, back and forth..and his/her authorize signature all in same paper. getz?

    1. Airline ticket

    2. Itinerary

    3. Email of authorization

    4. Copy of credit card, back front and signature.

    5. If you can get a copy of his Drive's license/ID ...the more the better secure. good.gif

    Hi,

Since I have benefited tremendously from this forum, I thought I would add some advice :

We filed our petition on the first week of July. Every two weeks, we called the USCIS Window 25 (phone number +63-2-301-2224) to inquire on the status of our petition. Each time I called, the person asked my wife's name and when we filed, then after checking the status, informed me it was "still pending" and then stated " the petition process takes 3-6 months to be approved, you should call back when it has been 3 months since you filed your petition".

My first recommendation is to be not be discouraged by that. It is not accurate.

I began to get concerned when after a month and a half I recieved the same "still pending" status when I called Window 25, and I also hadn't received anything in the mail. I called the USCIS on august 15 and still the same message "still pending". On August 24 I called the embassy and asked to speak with someone at the Immigrant Visa Section - who told me the petition was approved and forwarded to them on July 31. (!!!??!!)

Recommendation #2 - call the Immigrant Visa office after 4 weeks to check if you've been approved. continue calling the IV office - they'll be able to tell you when the petition has arrived on their desk.

The lady on the phone told me I could fax my DS-230 and DS-2001 to the IV section. I asked for my case number and they would not give it on the phone. I went there today and handed in a DS-230 and DS-2001 (that i found off a website dated 2006 because I believe this form is no longer used as it cannot be found on the state department's website). I submitted these two forms and I got my case number and the interview is scheduled. Time for medical and police clearance. We scheduled the interview for the beginning of October to allow time for the medical, because you can't do your medical until you have your case number.

Recommendation # 3 - go there in person and hand in your DS-230 and DS-2001 as soon as you hear from IV that the petition is approved - don't wait for the packet in the mail.

I hope this is helpful for some people.

  9. Just like everyone is stating here..and make the right decision or legal decision and call your USCIS. Don't be side-blinded about the whole thing...though must be devastating to go through all this. And its a lesson learn.

I apologize in behalf of my country who seriously have ignorant Filipinas to con others to get their dreams. KARMA will get her either way..and SEND her back to the Philippines before its too late. yes.gif

  10. Not sure about California Laws but when I was on assignment overseas I filed and finished my divorce that was uncontested via PDF and Faxes. My ex was in agreement so the divorce went smooth. I would contact an Attorney in your home State (California) for a free consultation. Use Skype and just call around and send emails to see which Attorney will schedule you. If your Husband fights the divorce then it will be state specific whether you need to return for mediation, hearings etc. My 2nd Ex wife :o:bonk: lived in another State in USA and they allowed her to phone into the mediation which was State required. No third ex wife for me.. This is it  Good Luck..

Well at first my husband agreed to it..and honestly this should be easy since its a "Summary of Dissolution" married less than 5 years..but all of a sudden he was being an A$$ and wouldnt want to sign papers. And just to keep it short - HE CHEATED ON ME while I was here in the Philippines studying pursuing our FUTURE for better stability. Oh well not my lost..I just dont want to carry his last name anymore..augh!! so devastating.

Thanks for the help!!! I will try contacting lawyers. Got magicjack. heheblink.gif

  11. I live in Manila for about 3 years now, I was seperated since last year but never filed for divorce.

I am a USC Filipina, married to a fiilpino in the states of California..and I am desperate to file for divorce. His is not making it easier on me.

I just want to get this over with, but I cannot go home right now due to financial reasons and for my school. I am studying in Manila.

Please advise if there is any other way....crying.gif

  12. Pre screener? Hubby and I waited for our number to be called/flashed. She got my appointment confirmation form, pics, and passport and asked for my birth date. We waited again. A different lady asked the same thing, and I did the finger printing. She told us to wait again. Another lady asked us some questions, looked at our pics and told us that we could show those to the consul later. She got my NSO birth certificate, NSO marriage certificate, NSO CENMAR, and NBI. She also got our AOS. She asked some questions about our co-sponsor. She asked me to sign the document I faxed. Then she gave us a yellow paper and asked us to pay the fee. We paid $230 and we went back to the lady. She got our receipt and told us to wait again. This time the one who interviewed us was an American. He didn't really talk to me. He and my huband were the ones who talked. He was surprised that my husband hasn't left me since he first saw me. HaHa! He said "everything looks good". My hubby told me I got approved. I told him "NOT YET!" The consul told us to wait for my name to be called at the releasing window. I was called and a Filipino man/ consul told me that I got approved and he returned the appointment confirmation form we printed out and gave them. My hubby and I were so happy! We didn't realize it would be that easy. The interview with the consul didn't even last three minutes. He didn't even get our pictures and evidence of marriage. Maybe it was because my hubby was doing PDA. HaHa! Oh, and my hubby danced like this  . :P

May I ask how long was your timeline from the day you started to apply for the I-130? Please advise, I would like to estimation for DCFiler. Thanks!

  13. I have a few places I'm considering. I'm a CNA working on my RN, and my Fiance is a RN, and we both have a lot of experience in the field, so we would have no issues finding work anywhere we move to, so I'm not concerned about quitting my job if I had to. I also have a good savings. But generally, I do agree with you all, it's always best to have a job lined about before leaving a current job, but that doesn't always work too well if you're trying to move out of state and build a new life.

My only issue is what the US Embassy of Manila would decide if I was unemployed, and it does seem that it wouldn't go over wlel with them, compared to most other locations. Oh well... I guess I'll have to figure out something else.

K1 visa does not accept Co-Sponsor. You must have an income to petition your fiance.

Another option is: If you plan to move to Philippines "temporarily" - I suggest you inquire about DCF. You must be a USC to do this and living abroad for 6 months. Get married here, and then petition her. Now you can use the Co-Sponsor since you will not be working when you get here, I assume.

There are Threads here for DCF. Please research that. http://www.visajourney.com/content/dcf

  14. I have a question for my fellow VJers.. Dealing strictly with the flights. What airline did you choose to fly to the USA and for what reason? I am thinking about either Qatar Airlines bc I am a FF or Delta which has a good time of us getting to my home in NC.

I've flew back in forth from Manila to SFO for semester break from school. So far, I dislike PAL coz plane is so small, stuffy and noisy.crying.gif I heard they have Boeing 777 out, new model and more spaces, if u get that then your good. I didn't like CHINA AIRLINE, i guess from my experience - was sitting in the very front near the cabin so everytime the stewardest would come out, they would hit me with the curtain. headbonk.gif hahaha. Stop over at Taipei, nice airport, lots of things to do there. But CHINA AIRLINE was okay, flight was smooth. DELTA is my choice - i was soo relax, more space in my seat and aisle. Meal was good. Very organize. kicking.gif

  15. I have a question, I am a USC living in Manila. I was planning to work here since I am DUAL. I just finish my studies here but have no plans on going to USA until we settle our DCF aps.

Is it a good idea to work in Manila, while I have plans to file for DCF for my fiance' in the near future? Would this conflict our application at the USEM and question it? I'm just curious. innocent.gif

  16. Just got an email saying "On July 16, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)"

I am dying of happiness right now!!!! However I do not know what to do. I planned a trip to go see my boo for a week at the begining of august (have the tickets already) and now that I receive this email, I do not know if it's best to postpone that trip. How long is it taking from this stage to the interview??
