Hi,
does anybody know how long on average it takes from the case completed at the NVC until the actual interview date at the US embassy overseas?
Thank you

Hi dear VJers,
Our payments for both AOS and IV fee are now in the status of PAID and the whole paperwork regarding AOS has been sent 10 days ago.
Now we are confused as to what to do next.
Are we supposed to get any "package" by mail from NVC or this is it from them and now we just have to download and send that form DS-230 by mail together with the police certificates from the respective countries, the certified marriage certificate and also the applicant's birth certificate?
Or what are the next steps we should do now??
Thank you for any erudite advises!

Hi VJ'ers!
I just wanna share our progress:
Our NOA1 is dated on June 19th 2012 and today after almost 8 months of waiting we got approved on Valentine's day
So now we move on to the second stage of our process...another waiting ahead of us
Anyway, for now we are happy!

OMG, you make no sense at all!!! Take a deep breath first and then start using CaPiTaL letters and characters like this one . and this one , so people who read can also understand your splash of thoughts being put altogether as just one sentence!

Hi,
our NOA1 date is June 19th. So soon it will be 7 months since then. And what do we do? Just keep on waiting and working not to have much time to get frustrated.
Peace!

6 plus months and still nothing....
Add one more month I would say...easily.

Yeah I figured out that there must be a HUGE pile of filers from 14th May and I also know that people in the office are working and not picking flowers and you can't never tell how long this stuff is gonna take BUT I really hate that there's a lack of information. How is that possible that they can't tell us what's going on with our case? Also I already got my background checked because of my husband's job (it happened around April) so why is it taking so long to double check? And my husband is in the military and they assured us that we were gonna be approved faster than civilians because of that and sure enough we're almost at the 6th month and nobody can tell us if we're gonna get approved anytime soon. I get the line, I get the wait but what I don't get is how in the hell people that filed after us are getting approved in less than 5 months. I'm starting to think that there's something wrong with my case and my paperwork.
I am a June 19th NOA1 filer. Let's just wait like one more month and I am sure we're gonna get approved soon. Get a job, get busy and you won't have time to be thinking and to be so frustrated about that

thanks for all the replies! I do have a SSN since I was in the US before, and I kept the SSN card. so I guess I can start right after my POE then, yay!
Hi, how come you have the SSN card? How and when did you get it before you get your CR1 visa?
Thanks for your answer in advance.

Hi,
Which box should I cross when filling out the form G-325A? ...it says "This form is submitted in connection with an application for:"
And there are 3 options. I am not sure whether to put "Status as Permanent Resident" or "Other (specify): I-130".
I am about to send I-130 package soon.
Could you please advise?
Thank you!

No I don't think it's mandatory, but it wouldn't hurt either. The most important part of the affidavit is how the person knows you and what knowledge they have about your relationship and marriage. If their place of birth and age help demonstrate that, why not include it.
I am sorry I think you are confusing the original questioner and not providing helpful information. The I-130 petition requires secondary proof of bona fide marriage, not just the marriage certificate. Affidavits are one way of helping supply that, since individuals who know the couple can attest to the nature of their relationship. As you suggest, wedding pictures and financial records are also helpful.
Your suggestion that a marriage certificate is enough is misleading and inaccurate.
Thank you for your response, but since we are both young people who just got married and have no kids or properties or financial co-mingling yet. I figured that the only things we could provide are our pictures from numerous occasions and also those affidavits.

Hi everybody willing to help!
We are about to send the I-130 package along with 2 affidavits attesting our bona fide marriage. I did some search online and I found some affidavit examples which state just NAME, IMMIGRATION STATUS, AGE, OCCUPATION, ADDRESS of affiant. And then I found some other affidavit examples which state NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, PLACE OF BIRTH, IMMIGRATION STATUS, AGE, OCCUPATION, ADDRESS of affiant.
The question is: Is the date of birth and place of birth of a person making the affidavit mandatory??
Thank you
