  1. Thanks guys, I appreciate the support & lack of judgement!

Things have been crappy almost since the minute I set foot in Florida. We just don't seem to go well together, personality-wise, goal-wise, etc. I don't want to slag him, but I feel like he showed me a completely different person when we were dating than who he turned out to be. I feel like we've just been on a roller coaster of fights and apologies for the last 9 months.

He's been going to his own personal counselor for almost two months now, and we also have a (different) couples counselor... but I just don't see it working out. This sucks. sad.png

I am so sorry to hear all this :( I know marriage reveals so much more of a person that dating does, especially coming from a long-distance relationship. Thinking of you both and you go through counseling and seek out the path for your future. Like so many have said, we are here for you. We supported each other thru the VISA process and we will continue to support each other, no matter what happens.

    Sending you hugs xx

  2. NOA2 finally!!!! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif

Our daughter is expected to be born in November, so we were worried that the green card might not come out until after. Now that we got a hardcopy of our NOA2 and eventual temporary green card, we can focus on the birth of our daughter! biggrin.png

Congrats! What an exciting time for you :D

I got my card on Monday...such a great feeling to put paperwork behind us for a while! Our next step now...we've both quit our jobs in DC...moving back home to Knoxville at the end of the month...going to Scotland in December for 5 months to have some quality family time and rest and seek what we are meant to do with our lives! Jason is feeling called into ministry so it will be perfect to have time to think :D

    It's all go!

  3. Repeat medical, 2 vaccines, TB test, 121 pages of evidence including 9 affidavits, bank statements, health insurance, car insurance, photographs, hotel stays, honeymoon travel evidence, tax return, lease, bunches of things showing our address...if THAT aint evidence then I don't know what is!!!!! We even got a notarized affidavit from our apartment complex manager!!! Being mailed tomorrow - will arrive on Wednesday...watch this space!

  4. Sarah, this is such a bummer. I'm really sorry to hear this. Do you think it's possible they lost part of your application? I'm with Gavin and Heather- you'd think they'd have checked this stuff out before giving a visa. Send as much evidence as you can, like joint bank accounts, pictures, joint leases, evidence from your wedding. Fingers crossed for you!!

Oh they're going to regret asking!!!!! We prayed this morning for the medical situation to be resolved today and the first place we called couldn't have been more helpful and told us to bring all our stuff in and they would look at it and help us out. So we went and they confirmed that I would need another medical as it had been questioned, TB test, and also flu and DTAP vaccines. She went to check when they could next fit me in and then said with a surprised tone that they could actually do it all at 12.30 today!!! Two sore arms later...all results should be in and form signed on Monday! Been collecting all we have in both names. We are getting 7 notarized affidavits from friends, family and our pastor. I'm currently putting together a big fat photo diary of the past year that will make them vomit!!! Should have everything ready to mail back on Monday...praying for a fast turn around as we're moving at the end of October so don't want to go thru another change of address!!

  5. Just curious, does anyone know if all the AOS apps go to a field office? We have a MSC number, which to this day is not in the USCIS system so I have no way of knowing the status unless I get Julian to call.

I assume it's because ours hasn't been picked up yet (just collecting dust like the K-1), but the whole process is confusing to me. Is it just hit or miss who gets interviewed and who doesn't?

I just called about my RFE that was mailed on the 23rd and got told that family based applications are generally processed at your local visa office - for me that's Baltimore - but that any RFEs are mailed from the National Visa Center in Missouri. I think someone's bring it to us on horse back!!!

  6. So.... you wait for 9 months and get nothing... you give them a poke to say you're still waiting and they are processing dates after yours... and THEN they decide they want more evidence. I sincerely hope it's something and nothing.

Yep...pretty much sums it up!!! Really praying it's something small and that it arrives tomorrow so I don't go crazy all weekend not knowing!!! God is still in control :D

  7. Finally some movement...well if you can count our application being outwith normally processing times and putting in a service request as movement!!! Praying for a quick response dancin5hr.gif

Well...I got the quick response I prayed for...unfortunately it's come in the form of an email saying I have a RFE on the way cray5ol.gif Just called but they couldn't tell me over the phone so I have to wait for the letter to arrive!!!

  8. Congratulations!!!

And.....we just got the same email last night! Wheee! It's funny how this seems so much less life-changing than the I-129F petition approval, even though it's a much bigger deal. Aaron is a permanent resident: YAY!

Super! dancin5hr.gif I got excited yesterday when I went to get the mail and saw a USCIS envelope...it was just my NOA1 for the AP since we decided to go ahead and apply for that...just in case!!! Excited knowing that people are getting the GC approvals though...means it's got to happen soon dancin5hr.gif

  9. Woo hoo! I just got the email that Rob's card is in production! As of last week, he was still at the NBC, so either they transferred him to Chicago and he got approved there, or NBC processed the paperwork. Either way, I'm anxious for the card to arrive and for us to be free of USCIS for at least another year and 9 months.

Awesome news!!! I'm sure we'll all be receiving those emails in the next few weeks...feeling positive!!

  10. Great to hear all went well...Dulles is the most likely for us to be going in/out of so if we have to use AP i'll make sure I get an I-94!!! Did you have a good time?

I called again today and was told, again, that we're within processing time - yeah according to the update that was last done on May 31st!!! I know why the don't update the system more...it means more cases would be out of normal processing time!!! I'm expecting it will be in the next month though! Jason thinks it will arrive in the mail on September 17th because it's citizenship day!!! I am going to get the AP application away just in case though!

How's everyone doing on the job front? I'm thankful I have one...that's all i'm saying! ClockWatch2.gif

Well it's good news that you may not have to worry about interview but frustrating that it just takes so long!

I returned to the US yesterday so thought I'd just mention here what the process was like since none of us seem to have a green card yet. I had my advanced parole letter, no problem at all in Manchester airport - they are very familiar with the document and it says clearly that it is authorises a carrier to transport me without liability. In Dulles, the first desk inspection was a little confusing. I'd been told I didn't need I-94 on the plane since they don't do them anymore. I'd clearly read before I left that I needed one so I checked in the immigration hall.. 'No, we stopped using them 4 months ago', I was told. Got to the desk - 'you need an I-94!' Half way through finger-printing, the officer just gave all my documents to me so I wandered off to get my bags and custom inspection and was told there I have to follow the signs to B. Very little information and explanation - don't know if they simply assume we've done it before. However, secondary inspection staff were lovely - they pointed out that my alien registration number was wrong on the letter and I had the number of a Vietnamese woman!!! (Couldn't believe I missed that having scrutinized again and again my paperwork!) But they cleared it all for me and let me through - they even had a sense of humour about it! I'm going back to the UK in October so will contact USCIS and ask them to change it. No other evidence was required even though I'd taken a wallet full of documents and ID.

For those of you planning to use an AP, it seems to me that your experience will depend very much on which routes you take. Some smaller airports around the world seem unfamiliar with the document and that can cause some delay. For Manchester - Washington, the process is very straight forward. I was in secondary inspection less than 15 minutes.
