  1. The instructions for the I-485 state you only need to submit a vaccination supplement if your medical was within the past year. Some have used the 3025 vaccination record and got everything approved, some that submitted the 3025 have gotten RFE wanting the I-693. I think you will be better off to use the I-693. My wife had the 3025 transcribed to the I-693 ($40 ) when she filed her AOS.

We just received an RFE for not doing the I-693 supplement.... I'd recommend doing it. Kicking ourselves that we didn't. It was $40 for the Civil Surgeon to transcribe the immunizations onto the form.

  2. I just checked our status for my husbands AOS (we filed late December 2012 and still no word yet from USCIS - approved EAD within 90 days of application, just waiting on green card notice for either interview or production.) Anyways, the website now highlights Request for Evidence, on top, but when I read the brief details below it just says: "On August 30, 2013, we mailed you a continuation notice regarding your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS." I know we'll have to wait a few more days or so until we receive the hard copy and read any details. But just curious if anyone else has received this and is this a true RFE or what do they mean by a continuation notice?

  3. We filed for AOS on December 28, 2012 and received notification for Biometrics appointment on January 3, 2013. My husband went for his biometrics on January 30, 2013. We haven't heard anything else since with the exception of his approval for working permit which he received March 1, 2013. Anyone else in this boat? When we do a case status online it just says we are in "Acceptance," not even Initial Review yet... We were prepared for a 6-8 month wait - but seems weird we haven't heard anything yet. Our local office is Boston, but the online status at USCIS says the National Benefits Center is processing it... Should we be worried?

  4. Hi All!

I have friends that have been asking me for advice in regards to their visa issues. However, I only can really speak on the K1 visa process as that's what my now husband :-) and I did last year. Here's the quick scoop on them:

He entered on a Visitor visa 5 months ago, they got married a couple months ago and now want to do a CR-1 and adjust his status.... Can they do this with him here in the states on a Visitor visa (which runs out soon I would imagine). I feel as though this process will be a lot longer than they expect - I think they are under the belief that cause they got married he's ok to stay here now - but again, I don't know all the ins and outs even though my guts thinks otherwise. I know how much paper work and the lengthy process it took for my husband and I, so I can't imagine this being easier - but I could be mistaken.

Any suggestions on what to tell them? I've referred them to come check out visajourney and read up on things and even suggested that they may need a lawyer. He's Filipino and She's the US citizen...

  5. We just got back from my Fiancee doing his CFO today. We arrived at 5:15 AM and we were #7 in line. It's a little confusing there when lining up. The K1 Fiancee visa line was on the ramp (I believe it's the same every day) I was able to stay with him until the guard came and got everyone to go inside (around 6:30 AM). We had another friend with us, so the friend and I then went to the SM Manila Mall (close by - 10 minute taxi ride) You can also stay right outside the CFO office - there are a couple little "shops" that sell coffee and snacks - but no good seating areas. Yes one copy of all you listed is fine. Also fill out the CFO registration form from online too to save time. He could have a cell phone (and texted me during it). It took a little more than 3 hours (once the seminar actually started - at 9). He had to wait at the end to get his certificate of attendance. Good luck!

  6. Hi! Quick question. My Fiance lives in Cebu, and our Interview for our K1 Visa is on October 11th. He's going next week to do his Medical exam, I know he'll also need to do the CFO Seminar and Counseling. I've read here that he can do this before he gets his Visa, and then returns after receiving the Visa to get the sticker. Can he do the seminar in Cebu, but get the sticker in Manila? We're planning on just remaining in Manila after the interview until he receives his Visa then a couple days later fly here to the US.

  7. Hi Everyone, I've been on here for a while, just reading, learning and observing. Yesterday we FINALLY received our NOA2 from VSC!!! I have 2 questions that I'd like to hear what everyone here, particularly from people with Philippines consulate experience, have to offer for advice/answers.

    1. In regards to the NBI Clearance. My fiance is from Cebu, he has a NBI clearance. It says "No Criminal Record." Which is great! However, I was told that because it only says No Criminal Record and not No criminal record ON FILE, that this will give us problems. (and the instructions in the interview packet say this as well) But no where does it say how/or what we need to get this fixed so we'll be ok at the interview. There is mention of a letter from NBI explaining the No Criminal Record. But by searching on here I've also read that some say it's almost impossible to get this letter, or you have to "get" (bribe) the NBI worker to do a new clearance with the "on file" added to the no criminal record... Help?!!!

    2. This one may be easier (I hope!!) I lost my job this past spring, and now have a new full time job. I do make above the required minimum, but only a few thousand dollars above now (I took about a 50% pay cut because I knew i needed a job for the interview!) I've read Manila doesn't accept Supports... is this true, and do you believe this new job and pay cut will affect the interview/approval?

Thanks in advance for your time and responses! I've learned so much here!!
