  1. Hey fellow VJ peeps,

I've read many topics that talk about traveling before receiving the AP but only after the biometrics is complete. This isn't very clear to me and seems like theres a bit of a gray area.

    Here is my situation:

Wife received green card and she is good to travel. Applied for sons Adjustment of Status along with the AP. He has completed his Biometrics but have heard nothing about the AP we applied for 2 months ago. Called to inquire about the delay and was told they will send a correspondence via mail shortly. Flight leaves May 03rd to Thailand and we want to be on that flight.

    My question is:

When I applied for the AP I specified for the Approved AP to be sent to the consulate in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Would there be an issue if we left the country on May 03rd with out the approval yet? Is there a chance it won't be approved and our son get stuck in Thailand?

    Any info would be appreciated!

  2. Hi everyone,
My fiancé and I are currently on packet 3 and the last thing needed before we send back to the embassy is her Police Certificate. Is there a place in Chiang Mai to get this or does she need to travel to Bangkok to get the certificate? Can this be expedited or does it really take 3 weeks? She has called the The Police Clearance Service Center and no one is answering. Im worried with all the protests going on she won't ever get through.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Its been 8 days since the consulate in Bangkok received the approved petition and there has been no sign of packet 3. Is this normal for packet 3 to be taking this long? Is it possible to call the consulate and ask them for information? When I check the status it says this:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state..../info_3731.html

Does this mean we should schedule the appointment now? Or wait for the appointment letter?
    Thanks again.

  5. Hello everyone it has been a week since we received our NOA2. Congrats to all of us!!! And sending everyone who haven't received their yet good luck and positive thoughts

Now that most of us received our NOA2, what is the next step?

Do we wait for USCIS to send us "packet 3"??

Or should we start gathering needed documents?

Then again I don't know which documents to start preparing other then my Affidavit Support helpsmilie.gif

    Hello fellow October 2013 lovers!

    mysoulmateandi:

follow this link to the K1 Visa Flowchart http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

that should answer a lot of questions.

    Good Luck Everyone!!

  6. Will I get a notice from USCIS stating they have sent my approved petition to NVC? Every time I call, the NVC seems to be bothered that I'm checking up on the status. Its been 3 weeks since the NOA2. My guess is, its sitting in a que at either USCIS or the NVC.

In the meantime, perhaps my fiancé can move forward with completing applications etc for Package 3 to hopefully speed up Package 4. Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Congrats Sidney!! Looks like November has been a good month for us. I was approved in 21 days!! Unfortunately, the air has been taking out of the sails as its been 3 weeks and no sign of NVC having received my approved petition. So much for an early Christmas present :(

So, will I get a notice from USCIS stating they have sent my approved petition to NVC? Every time I call, the NVC seems to be bothered that I'm checking up on the status. Did USCIS use the pony express to deliver my approved petition or what? My guess is, its sitting in a que at either USCIS or the NVC.

  8. I punched holes in mine, inserted it into a binder with tabs and a compliance matrix (index) for the reviewer. My pics were printed out on glossy paper 4 up with description on the opposite side to include location, names, and dates.

There are many ways to submit the application but the idea is to make it as easy for the reviewer as possible. Im sure when the reviewer opened mine, they were relieved to find such an organized application.

    Good luck!

  9. The NOA2 arrived on November 6th. Looks like I need to contact NVC to see if the have received my case. Hopefully they have it already and can forward to Thailand right away. Does anyone have an idea of the shipping time from NVC to Bangkok? Also I'm wondering where my fiancé and her son should get vaccinated? Is it advised for them to go now so they are prepared for the Medical? Is there any wait times for specific vaccinations etc?

So many questions now. Thanks for the replies.

  10. Use an address that makes sense & leave it at that. Keeping this simple for them does the same for you.

I suggest you buy a copy of Thailand Fever on Amazon & have her buy one in Thailand. This has nothing to do with your question but you will find the book useful in your relationship.

Just bought Thailand Fever for 10 bucks on Amazon. Looks interesting and helpful. Thanks for the recommendation Ning :)
