Are you asking about whether or not he will still qualify for the I-864? You just say "affect the AOS." What does that mean?
Yes. That is what I meant. In this situation would we need a co sponsor?

A couple of points to make.
He can collect unemployment. It is NOT a means tested benefit, it is an insurance payout. You as an immigrant can collect unemployment too, if you had a job.
As a USC, he can collect any means tested benefit he is entitled to. (Unemployment of not one of these, but just to be clear). You, as an immigrant, cannot collect these things (like welfare).
Thanks alot for your response. I understand that my husband can get unemployment benefits. But maybe I was not clear in my question. What I needed to know was will it affect my Aos case at all if he is collecting partial unemployment even though he is going back to work in the next few weeks. Maybe not before our interview date but he is going back to his same job. If the ask should we explain the situation to them?

Hello VJ family. Due to hurricane Sandy my husband's job has been temporarily closed. The owner of the company said that they are entitled to partial unemployment while they are not working. My question is will my husband applying for patial unemployment affect us at my AOS interview? Just wanted to add that he wil be going back to work in the next few weeks until everything is settled. Should I be concerned?

My husband and I wanted to visit Califonia in October since my best friend is getting married. I recently just sent in my AOS package at the end of August and I recieved my NOA1. In addition my toutist visa has expired. So basically I just wanted to know if it would be ok to go. Or will their be a hassle at the airport?

Just mailed out my package today. Finally relieved that this part of the process is done. Now the waiting game begins.

Hello everyone. Just go done assembling my AOS package and it is a good size. My problem is that I can not fit it all into one envelope. Can I put the I-130 APPLICATION in one envelope and put the I-485 in another and when I get to the post office just put the both of them in one Express mail envelope?

Thanks for the suggestions DandT14. I would definitely try and see if they work.

Thanks alot everyone. This whole process has been really stressful. I really appreciate the advice.

I actually just tried opening it with a different browser but the barcode still don't show up. Will they accept the forms if I print it out with the size option on my printer that says "Fit" or do the forms need to be printed with the size option "Actual Size". The barcodes only show when I use the "Fit" size option.

Thanks for the replies.

I was just wondering if there are any specifics when printing downloaded forms from the USCIS website? For example;do I need to print them on a specific type of paper etc? I know this might be a silly question but I am just a little paranoid about these things. Also when I try to print the downloaded forms the barcodes at the bottom do not get printed. Is that going to be a problem?

On the I-485 application it has a question that asked about any groups, organisations etc. that you have been affiliated with since your 16th birthday. I did some research to see what specific organisations they had in mind but I am still a little confused. Do religious organisations like churches you belong to apply? Might be a silly question but just want to make sure I do it the correct way.

My husband wants to leave his old job and start a new one before we submit my AOS applications. Since I am new to this process I need some help. Is there a requirement for the AOS process of how long he has to be employed(eg. 90 days etc.) at his new job before we can send in our applications? Any advice would be much appreciated.

So I printed out the I-693 form online because I forgot to get one when I ordered the rest by mail. And I notice that the barcodes did not print out at the bottom of it like the other forms. Can I still use the form without the barcodes or is it important?

I know this might be a silly question but I just wanted to be sure. I have read that to show proof of a bona fide marriage you need to show monthly billing statements of both husband and wife going to the same address. So my question is soes it matter if those bills are in both names but wife maiden name is used on each bill instead of married name? I just never got around to changing name on any of our bills we have together.

Thanks everyone for your answers

I am adjusting from a tourist visa and my husband and I are currently in the process of filing out all the application forms. SInce all of my identification(passport etc.) has my maiden name on them do I fill out the applications with my maiden name or my husband's last name? I have heard that it is easier to wait until after the whole process and change it to husband's name.

Hello everyone! I am new to VJ and found this site while doing some research. My husband and I got married last February and we are in the process of filing out all the forms needed for my Aos process. While doing that I noticed that sime of the infomation on his Naturalization certificate seems to be flaking off. Although it doesn't make it illegible it has made me a lttle nervous since this is one of the key documents that we need. So my question is do you think we should apply for him to get a new Naturalization certificate or do you think it would be fine to use the one that we have now?
Conditional green card and purchasing insurance that is federally subsidized
in Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
Posted
I don't know if I am posting this topic in the correct place but I need aome help. I recently got approved for my conditional GC and I also found out, that I was pregnant. It is too late to be added onto my husband's insurance since the yearly enrollment has gone past. I have been looking into an insurance program called NJ PROTECT which seems to be my only option for insurance right now. The only hesitation I have with it is that it is federally subsidized but I do still pay my on monthly premiumns. Will this be a problem when I go through my removal of conditions?
