The interviewer was very nice and friendly...She never told us we got approved. She just said "everything looks good,we will send our decision in the mail" But 30 minutes later while driving on the free way I got an email saying my case was updated and my card is being produced and the I-130 was approved!!!! I was soooo happy!!! only 4 1/2 months and its done! God is good. All the best to everyone !

YAY daphoknee!! I'm so happy for you! I had a feeling that you should get approved soon and if you didn't you needed to check what's going on with your file! Esp after I just saw another filer in the process and procedures section who also filed from abroad in December and got their approval in 39 days and I ran over here to let you know!
Hope you're ready for NVC! Hop on over to the NVC thread and start studying up on what you need, all the info is in the first post.
Ahh, sorry if I sound clueless, but can anyone please tell ,me what exactly is an NOA 2 please? I am a little confused because if I was to count all the "notices of action" i have ,more than two...

Congrats you all!!! SO happy for you!!!! (with a lot of jealousy added) I'm hoping to hear from USCIS soon as we filed abroad too!
Congratulations!

Wow, that saves some cash.... I'm surprised they don't inform us of that on the I-765! I wonder if they would have returned the money if I did send it in!
Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes they would have returned the fee.I overpaid and they sent back the amount that would have been for the i-765.They are very ethical

ok, I will keep you guys posted.I sent in a postal money order, how do I check if they cashed a postal money order? or maybe I cannot check that.
I got the NOA1 today (i-130 and i-485)Two different case numbers and its showing online
IM happy about that.I am however wondering why they sent back the money order of $380 which was supposed to pay for my work permit application(1-765) which i did not receive an NOA1 for(not yet anyway, maybe one is on the way).Is it that I am not required to pay a fee due to the fact that I am married to a USC? Or is it that I was not supposed to apply for a work permit? That kinda confused me, if anyone has insight on the possible reasons for that, please share. Thanks and all the best to everyone else who is waiting too!

You can call the number on the money order receipt. Give them the money order number and asked if it was cashed.
Thanks so much-today I got an NOA stating that they are returning one of my money orders because that payment wasnt required, so I sent too much money to them...it was dated December 24th,2012 that they received it.I still havent gotten a case receipt number yet....the wait continues...

It just might take a while with the holidays in there. It took me a week to get my hard copy in the mail and I am only 1 day shipping from Chicago. It took my lawyer 2 weeks to get his copy of my NOA1. Just check to see if they cashed your check. If so there is no problem you just need to wait.

Did you submit the G-1145 form? If you did, they would have emailed/sent a text to your husband.

I never submitted that form, unfortunately I found out about it after I mailed in my package
it is just making me anxious sitting here waiting

Hello Everyone,
Me and my husband live in NYC, he is a USC. I was an F1 student but I believe I am now OOS due to the fact that my OPT ended July 2012(im still confused because my i-94 is stamped with "D/S" instead of an actual date to leave the United States). We got married in November2012 and we sent in the package (i-130,i-765,i-485 etc.)on December 19,2012 and according to my Post Office tracking number they got it on December 21,2012. Today is January 5th 2013 and I have not gotten a response yet....Should I be worried? Or is this time frame normal? Other folks I have seen, get responses within a week.I sent it to Chicago lockbox, I don't know where it is sent after that.Just checking to see if other December 2012 filers have heard anything yet.Does anyone know where the packages are sent after reaching the Chicago lockbox? How is that determined? Does it have anything to do with where you live? Thanks for your help
