Good luck to you guys who have their interview today! Hope to hear that all of you got approved on the spot
EAD is expected to arrive tomorrow, and the Greencard the day after... tracked both haha.
-
Thanks everybody. Now I just hope that my greencard arrives soon (maybe next week) n without errors!
-
You can add the 131 also. You need to get the medical done prior to sending the forms.
-
IO didn't take my I94 out of my passport? I believe that others always surrender it at the interview? Just confused about it! I'd appreciate advice n thoughts. Thanks!
-
No he wanted my passport. I have a va license still only reflecting my married name but not joined address
-
Thank you and same to you. Yea he pretty much put the approved stamps on there in less than 5 min. I believe it's bc of my husband cause the other couple was in there for over an hour. Oh well it's over for now. :-) keep me updated!!!!

Hey...
just wanted to share our interview experience with you guys:
Our appointment was scheduled for 1.45pm in Chula Vista, CA, and hubby and I got there around 1.15pm. We then waited in the room until around 2.30pm (the door opened a few times making my heart jump but other people went in and out).
At 2.30 the door finally opened and this Hispanic-looking officer called my name. I saw him before when he called somebody else in, and he seemed pretty serious. My husband however is a very funny and outgoing guy and got the IO to laugh immediatly when he asked him for a wheelbarrow to take our things to the office.
The officer then took us to the office and swore us in and took our IDs. Right after he told us about ROC and that we needed to file for it in about 21 months from today (the 90 days before the 2 year greencard expires, and that the greencard usually arrives pretty fast, I can expect it within 2 weeks or so). He then asked me three questions from the 485 and then started putting stamps on the ROC paper, the 485 and 130. At that point I was pretty confused because he didnt ask for any documents yet and has not really asked any questions.
As he stamped our papers my husband made a joke comparing their benefits (hubby works for the city), and they both talked about their jobs a little bit. They then talked about some "Mexican ways of life" (Hubby is first generation American), like no seat belts when they were younger, and having like 10 people in a 5 people car etc, it was pretty funny.
Then he gave us our part of the ROC paper and told me to put it away in a safe spot. Then he asked for 2 to 3 pictures to add to the files. I handed them to him and asked if he wanted anything else, like car insurance, benefits etc, etc. Hubby made another joke saying I used up a whole ink tank on making copies so he grabbed my pile of papers.
That was pretty much it. I asked for the stamp but did not get it. And I asked if he is going to take my I94 or my I-20 (I believe usually they take those?????), but he didnt. He then led us to the exit and we were out.
I was pretty nervous but the moment the IO started laughing I knew we were fine. The IO mentioned a few times that he had never seen anybody bring in this much stuff (prolly part of why he didnt bother to go through all of it).
Within 10 minutes after leaving the building we received the email updates for the 485 and 130.
Now I am just happy and relaxed!
-
Yes we went out right after to celebrate. It was over so quick! Will give a longer, detailed version later. So happy right now!

Thanks I'll report tom! It's in the early afternoon - fingers crossed :-)
-
Ead/ap is on its way haha
-
That is great with your interview being tomorrow you are still leading all Jan filers on this forum. You will probably get your GC first
, which means the EAD/AP becomes useless.
Are you ready for the interview? I hope you keep up posted on how it went and I wish you the best of luck, it will go well
Yes we are ready. I'm very excited, my husband however is all relaxed - that really helps! We have our paperwork together and just wanna get it over with! Thank you, I'll defo let u all know how it went. I hope we get approved on the spot. Had a jobinterview last week and another one coming up and both want to hire me. But I can't have them wait too long - already lost a fantastic job offer that way :-/. Hope to get a stamp in my passport!
-
Still no ead for me BUT our interview is tomorrow :-). Happy for those who got their eads approved!

Checked the status online, and found that the I-765 and I-131 status has been changed to Card/Document Production.. Happy ....
On February 28, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you.
On February 28, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT.
that is awesome....
-
yea i bet. I was just curious. A friend of mine will only bring the few docs she submitted in her application, will not add anything else since her lawyer told her everything else is too much. but they only had like 5 different things max. oh well it will all work out int the end
-
we are preparing still, we have all the documents ready, i am working on making a 20 page print out of our main pics together just as an extra to the million pics. but everything else we already have. We quizz each other once a week lol, after almost 10 years together, it is interesting how some small details can clip by easily.
Yea I know. I do remember things to the actual date, but my hubby has a hard time remembering dates. I am a little worried but he is a guy and I doubt I can change that. If he tells them years and month ill be happy haha. We are going to bring a super fat scrapbook and our wedding album and then Ill print out around 50 shots the end of this week.
How did you organzie your docs??? We have all documents together also. I figured to put the originals in a ringfolder and put the copies in one pile and give them the whole thing as a souvenir haha
-
It has to be! Don't worry it will go well and i hope you get approved on the spot!
Wish you the best on your interview
Thanks guys. Are you guys all prepared for it? I think on the actual day we will get there with a trunk full of evidence haha
