I was reading your post in 2012. I am not sure if you will receive this. But I'll give it a try since your case is similar to my friend's daughter. They are very close to me so I want to help them as much as I can.

Here's the situation. 

I am US citizen and I am helping my Filipina friend who got pregnant to an American man and abandoned her 10 years ago.

My friend is a Filipino citizen, single parent and currently living in the Philippines with her daughter (10 years old).

10 years ago, she met an American man and stayed together until they learned that she was pregnant and the American man left and never seen again. The American man didn't give any support to my friend and her daughter since my friend was pregnant up to now. They are not married.

We want to know what steps/guidance my friend can do to for her daughter to get her citizenship. My friend knows where the location of the American man in the Philippines. He has his own family now and lives in Visayas area. We want to know what documents or process to expect in order for the daughter to become US Citizen. 

Thank you for helping. This is a big help for the 10 year old girl to have a better future. My friend is not after the financial support. She are after the child citizenship (which is the child's right).
