  1. I am going to call the Consulate again in Egypt and Email them. I have pay stubs now that can prove that I make sufficient income and an upcoming contract that will state what my salary will be for 2012-2013. His visa is pending at the moment. They are basing their decision on my 2011 tax returns. Is this valid for them to do. I got the impression that once a person's current income was up to parr then they are able to fully sponsor the beneficiary. Am I wrong?

  2. Hi,

My husband is in Egypt and works only part time. It is just the two of us so I need to make 18,440 dollars a year. My contract for 2011-2012 is for 20k and the school is almost over. I can provide recent paystubs and contract that says that. My taxes for 2011 only are well below 18,000 because I had a different job then. I have a stable job and will be getting a new contract in a few weeks for the next school year 2012-2013. Will this be sufficent? I emailed the American Embassy and we shall see what they say.

    ps,

When my husband went for his interview at the embassy they told him that we need a joint sponsor.

  3. So I have an update about sponsorship.....and maybe good news. I went and talked to a lawyer today for a consultation and he said that I make enough money since my contract is for 20k a year. And my contract will be renewed and for more money. 2010-2011 I did not meet the 18k requirements but the 2011-2012 I make 20K it should be fine right? The lawyer said that to me but I just want to get everyone's opinion since many are you are familiar with all of this visa stuff. Let me know what you think.

  4. Hello everyone,

My first time here on this website and I am here on to get help about getting my husband here. He was told that we need a joint sponsor in order to get approved for a visa and I've seem to have no luck finding a person. I read on a website that the residents at your house can co-sponsor? Is this true? I obvioulsy don't make enough money, can that person make up the difference? What other options do I have to get his visa approved? Desperate need of answers and would appreciate anyone's help in this matter. Thank you.
