  1. 1. Just stick with the email. It'll be approved in 1-2 weeks.

    2. If you've given over both email addresses to an operator, then you will only receive emails. You don't get physical letters. You just print out the interview letter from the email for the medical and interview.

I agree. Just stick with the e-mail. Also, you will both get e-mails about the interview.

  2. Hi again, everyone.

    I had some more questions!

    1a.

For both the AOS and IV Packet, the cover sheet will have a "bar-code". What is this? Where/when do I acquire this bar-code?

Please be specific with response to this. :)

    1b.

On the form DS-3032 (80023), I see "Place Case Barcode Strip Here Before Mailing to the National Visa Center". Where/when do I acquire this bar-code strip?

Also, what's the difference between the bar-code strip on form DS-3032 and the "cover sheet" bar-code?

OR, instead of mailing the DS-3032 (80023), should we email it as seen in : http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form ?

Is there a government-designed email form or should this template be used (if emailing is the better way to go, that is)?

Please be specific with response to this. :)

    2.

For the IV Packet, I am to send an original of the beneficiary's police certificate. When should this be acquired?

I am going to visit my wife (the beneficiary) again in October but I don't expect to have a response concerning my case status until November. (Also, I will not be able to visit again until, most likely, everything is completed.) Should I have her acquire the police certificate then in order for me to mail it with the IV Packet? Or should I wait until a response is given from USCIS then have her mail it to me? (I do not like the latter as Cambodia's mail system isn't exactly great.)

Please be specific with response to this. :)

    3.

Third, a photocopy of the biographic data page of the beneficiary's passport is to be sent, not the actual passport itself, correct?

Please be specific with response to this. :)

    4.

Next, when sending out the AOS Packet and IV Packet, are they going to two different addresses? If not, should these two packets be placed together into one envelope or separate?

Please be specific with response to this. :)

    5.

Lastly, I will be visiting my wife (the beneficiary) in October as mentioned above. I plan on taking printed copies of the DS-230 for her to sign. Should I be taking anything else with me as far as paperwork for her to sign? Aside from the DS-230, I don't believe I need anything else but could be wrong.

Also, aside from the original marriage certificate and original birth certificate, should I be taking anything else from her that I may need to send in the AOS or IV Packets? (Other than the issue with Original Police Certificate as mentioned above in #2.)

Please be specific with response to this. :)

Thank you all so much again and again. VisaJourney and its community has been such a huge help through this process. I am looking forward to everything to be completed so I can share my own experiences with everyone here as well as finally be able to truly help others going through similar processes.

    Cheers!

1a. You will get the bar code cover sheet when you pay the IV and AOS bills. You will be able to print them out once you have payed the fees.

1b. Please see my next post with link about the ds-3032.

    2. You should find out when the police certificate expires for your spouse's country. That could help you determine when to get it.

    3. No, don't send the passport. Just the copy of the biographic page.

    4. I sent the AOS and IV packets seperately because I didn't have all the documents for the AOS ready when I had the IV packet ready. Maybe someone else can advise if they sent them in the same envelope.

    5. She just needs to sign the DS-230 Part 1. I would have her sign two copies so you have one for you records. You should also make the copy of her biographic page of her passport when you go to visit her.

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

  3. Our case was completed at the NVC. I was wondering if anyone from Morocco has an interview date schduled at Casablanca consulate yet. Thank you for your help. THe NVC person I talked to stated, there is a chance that we could be scheduled in October if the schedule isn't full yet.

Everyone is waiting for October interviews. They haven't scheduled them yet.

    See: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/386969-august-casesanybody-with-a-interview-yet/

Hopefully this week we will hear something. :)

  4. I would definately list all of the visits. Couldn't you look at the stamps in your passport to see when you entered the US and use the stamps you got when you returned to your country to see when you left the US? That's what we did for my husband. If you don't have enough space to list all of the visits, you can attach a continuation sheet.

  5. My husband's mother's name is Nelida. On her birth certificate, it is misspelled as Melida. So, on her id card issued by Paraguay, it says her name is Melida. We have been putting Melida on all of our documents (marriage license, I-130, etc.) Well, my husband went to get a certified copy of his birth certificate and it turns out that his mother listed her name as Nelida on his birth certificate. He tried to get it changed, but they say it will take about 6 months to change it. Would it be a problem to send the birth certificate with her name as Nelida to the NVC? We were hoping to move to the US in early December.

  6. So I have a question about the bad mail services. I was going to put my address on the I-130 as my mom's address in the USA because mail here is just awful. There are no actual street addresses, instead they are like "50 meters south of the McDonalds, house on the right". I have a PO box, but even that is horribly unreliable. I know it would probably go faster with my foreign address, but anything they sent me would most likely never arrive. And that definitely worries me.

We plan to file in January 2013 and leave the country by December 2013. So that gives us a full year to be approved. Would it be best to...

    a) use my mom's address since we're giving ourselves a full year to get approved

    b) use my "street address"

    c) use my PO box

The mail here is really bad too. I receive mail at the school that I work at and not at my house. Even getting the mail at school is unreliable. I actually got the hard copy of the NOA2 before I got the hard copy of the NOA1. I put the address where I receive mail (at the school) on the I-130. I think you should put your PO Box. You can check the status of your I-130 online. After it is approved, you can call the NVC and check to see if they have assigned you a case number. Once it is assigned, you can give them your e-mail addresses and they will send the rest of the communication through e-mail. Also, we added a continuation sheet to the I-130 explaining that the address was where we received our mail and that it wasn't where we actually lived. It looked like this:

    Continuation Sheet

    I-130, Petition for Alien Relative

    Petitioner: Name

    Beneficiary: Name

    Item Numbers B2, C2, C19, C21

We cannot receive mail through the street address of our actual residence. The address shown on the I-130 form is our mailing address. The street address of our actual residence is shown on both G-325a forms.

    ___________________________________ ____________________

    Signature Date

Then, we put our actual street address on both G-324a forms. They accepted it and our I-130 was approved 7 days after our NOA1 e-mail. We are almost done with our NVC stage. All we need to do is mail in the AOS and DS-230 packages. Hope this helps.

  7. My opinion, what I did was sent an email to them with my WAC number asking if it was received... It took two days and they answered me yes, then I called to check.

It was not easy to keep calling, cos its expensive and I need to be luck to wait less than 3 min online.... So try the email, it was useful for me

    ;)

    good luck!

Have you tried Skype? You can get a package for unlimited calls to the US for $2.95 or so a month. That is an excellent way to not spend too much money on calls.

  8. My I-30 was on approved on April 23,2012 and since than I've tried calling NVC to get my case number it they keep telling me that it's in the system yet. Can anyone please help me? I am a little worry. How long does it usually take to get case assigned after I-130 has been approved?

Call every day. My I-130 was approved on April 23 also. I just got our case number today! Good luck!

  9. 1. Country USC resides in: Paraguay

    2. Is there a USCIS field office in this country / Is DCF still possible? No

    3. When did you file the I-130: April 2012

    4. How long had you been living abroad: 6 years

    5. Do you reside in the country legally? Yes

    6. What is the reason for your residence: Teacher

    7. Did you list your foreign address on all forms in I-130 package? Yes

    8. Did you send I-130 package from abroad? No (a friend took it to the US and mailed it for me)

    9. Did you include evidence of your residence abroad in the I-130 package? No.

    10. Did you mention the fact you reside abroad in the cover letter or write a letter describing your current situation and the evolution of your relationship with your spouse (mentioning your residence abroad)? No

    11. Has your case been "auto-expedited"? How long between NOA1 and NOA2? Yes, 6 days.

  10. I guess what doesn't make any sense to me is.....

Why do the people who are already with their loved ones get priority over the ones who cannot be together until the process is complete?

This doesn't seem right or fair in my opinion. I'd be happy to wait 5-6 months for NOA2 if I was able to be with my husband every day in England until we were done.

It seems to me that they have things backwards.... the people who are married and in love and then have to wait months and months to see eachother should be the ones that are "fast tracked" not the ones who are already able to spend their time together.

It's hard adjusting to "married life" especially when even 4 months later I'm still being told "congrats" and "where is your husband?" "when is he coming here? "do you miss him?" "when will you see him again?"

It's heart breaking to have people asking me these things all the time.... Of course I MISS HIM! And it kills me to have to explain over and over that we have NO IDEA... not even a decent estimate of when he will be here or when we will next see eachother, etc.

Why don't the people going through that pain every day get "priority"???

    Maybe just my opinion....

Also, we have already been married for 2 1/2 years. Maybe that has something to do with it? No idea. I hope that your petitions/applications are processed soon. Sorry to hear about your situation.
