  1. Hi!

My AP and employment authorization were approved and so my husband and I were thinking of traveling to my home country to celebrate our wedding with my family since they couldn`t come here for personal problems. Traveling with an AP in the middle of my AOS scares me and I`m worried I might be subject to an immigration bar. For what I read, the bar is only lifted if you stay out of status for more than 180 days. Assuming that the time I`m waiting for my AOS to be finalized isn`t a time in which i would be considered out of status, I wouldn`t have anything to be worried about. Yet, I worry hehehe. Hopefully, someone can reassure me or just tell me to wait and celebrate later :D. Here is my timeline:

    02/24: got married :D !

03/04: expiration date of my I-94

03/16: USCIS received my application for AOS

As you guys can see, I was out of status for about 12 days. Should I have any problems coming back to the US ?

    Thank you,

    Nathalia

  2. Hey, guys! I am new to the forum, although the website helped me TREMENDOUSLY with sending all the paperwork for my AOS :) .

Although we did send it with our I-864, it seems USCIS lost the certified copy of the birth certificate of our co-sponsor and sent us a letter asking us for proof of citizenship. Our co-sponsor lives in a different city and we were wondering if we can submit a simple photocopy of his birth certificate or if it needs to be a certified one. The filling instruction on USCIS doesn`t specify that it needs to be a certified one, like it does for form I-130, so we were thinking that it would be ok, but... USCIS terrifies me way too much to just send it and not think about it twice :).

    Thanks !
