  1. baron555 - Thanks for your suggestions. In our original I-129F petition I included a letter describing our relationship (a timeline) plus more evidence. Is it necessary to repeat that? I'll have all those original documents with me.

No, we don't have emails or letters because we live together. That's kind of the point of the rent stuff - to show that our interactions are in-person not via email, skype, etc. I have text message screen shots as that's one way that we communicate in written form... pretty much the only way, though.

  2. If you would fill the country it would help us to give you more in depth information. Seems like you have sufficient evidence. What about I-134, since you leave overseas you don't have US domicile or income. Do you have a sponsor aligned and a place to go to when you move back to the US?

Thanks. Yes, I have the I-134 for myself and we have co-sponsors that filled out the I-134 and I-864. I also have a number of documents proving my domicile in the States (you can live abroad and still maintain domicile). I have a mailing address in the States (my parents house) and I currently work remotely from wherever I am and have a letter from my boss saying that I can continue working from the States. The above list is definitely not all that I have! It's just the relationship stuff that I was less certain about... Thanks again!

(sorry would rather not fill in country or any personal info... I got stung before and am cautious now)

Honestly it looks fine, but it helps to know what country you're interviewing in as some embassies are much more strict than others. For an easy-normal embassy I think you're fine.

Thanks! I'd rather not say the country, but it's not considered high-fraud or more strict.

  3. Hi all,

As our embassy appointment approaches I'm wondering how much evidence of an ongoing relationship we need? USCIS clearly believed our relationship was genuine, so I'm assuming now we just need proof that we have continued together in the meantime?

I live in my fiancé's country with him. Here's what we have for evidence:

    • Letters of intention to marry from both of us
    • My residency visa showing that I live in his country
    • Passport stamps and boarding passes showing that I visited the States for a week in February but then came back and have been here since
    • Our rental contract with both names (sent with original I-129F petition)
    • Rent payment receipts from past few months
    • Text messages (one per month)
    • Photos of us together (one per month)

Does that look like enough? I could get affidavits from family/friends if that'd help...

    Thanks!

  4. Hi all,

I'm wondering if we'll need the original hardcopy of the NOA2 for our Embassy appointment? I live in South America with my fiancé and our NOA2 went to my parents' house in the States. They scanned it and emailed it to me and I have printed it out here. Is that good enough? Or will the embassy want the 'actual' thing? I'm nervous about it taking too long/getting lost in the mail, but don't want to pay a TON for FedEx. My printout is clearly not the original, but it's perfectly legible and looks just like the original would.

    TIA!

  5. I mentioned to my fiance about going through a congressman so that may be our next step.

The wait is awful. Five months should be long enough.

I am at the point of if they are going to deny us just get on with it!

I know how you feel. We're 12/12 and still waiting too... :( Everytime Igor's List gets updated I feel a little more hopeless. It seems to be so much further ahead than what CSC and VSC claim...

  6. That's good! What did you email them?

I have no idea how many cases are assigned either, but another thread in the forum suggests it takes all of half hour to go through one

I just emailed her that it had been five months, but we had spoken at the beginning of this process and she said to talk to her after five months. I had originally talked to her about tourist visa denials and not knowing where else to turn. So she advised us to try the fiance visa and to talk to her if it took more than 5 months.

Yeah, I've heard that actually going through a petition can take even 5 minutes! I'm just wondering if this person has a nice little pile on their desk or a file cabinet FULL of them!

  7. FYI - my Senator was much more helpful than USCIS. She emailed me back very quickly and said that she had called CSC and found that my case was assigned to an officer on May 9th. If we don't get approval within 2 weeks, I'm supposed to call her again.

But now I'm not sure how long it takes between being assigned and being approved. For all I know this person has 500 cases assigned ahead of mine! Anybody know?

  8. In case anyone's wanting an update... I just called USCIS and was told that CSC is processing November 16th. :( I also emailed my Senator so we'll see what she says. I had spoken to her at the beginning of the process and she said to contact her if 5 months passed.

Igor's List doesn't seem to agree with the Nov 16th thing, though.....

  9. what number do you guys have when you are calling the USCIS? I would like to call them soon as well.

I've been planning to call on Monday, but I guess I haven't even thought about where to call. Hmm...

I just checked on uscis.gov and the main number on their contact page is 1-800-375-5283. So I guess I'll start here. Hopefully I can get to a 'real' person!

I'm also planning to call my Senator and hoping that will be more useful. I had talked to her at the beginning of the process and she said to call her if we hadn't been approved after 5 months.

  10. Hi all,

I'm a December filer as well. We got our NOA1 on December 12, 2011. I'm feeing so sad and discouraged :( I thought we would have NOA2 by now. I check Igor's List everyday and keep seeing people that filed after us but already have their NOA2. We've been trying to (tentatively) plan our wedding for early July and I'm starting to lose all hope. :(

I guess the good news is that on Monday I can finally call USCIS and my senator. I'm not sure if it'll do much good, but I hope so...

Anyone else from early December still waiting?
