  1. We filed after may 1st, and from what i have been told, she needs to get her vaccinations updated and then we mail in everything 1 original and one copy of everything with a copy of the biographic page of her passport. i am just a little confused on if i need to send in a copy of mine as well? thanks for all the help.

Did you file the I-130 before May?? Reason I'm asking is that the Consulate has changed how things are handled starting May 1st. If you filed your stuff BEFORE, then you just fax the check list to the Consulate and she BRINGS all the required documents and her passport to the Consulate at the time of her visa interview.

If you filed after the system changed, then you send the required documents to the Consulate and wait for the visa interview invitation letter to arrive. Then she takes her passport to the interview with her.

  2. We just got seen by the doctor in frankfurt and I am wondering if anyone can help me out with what we need to mail to the consulate. I have all the paperwork needed I am just wondering if I need to mail in her passport and my passport along with all the paperwork? any help is appreciated, also if someone has a better mailing list of all required documents that would be appreciated. the one from the consulate is not easy to understand.

  3. JTFR.pdfi recieved this from the consulate after paying the 420 dollars for the I-130 and they also told me that i should keep all reciepts related to payments at the consulate and I can file a travel claim with finance after i PCS from germany. i am not sure if this is comething new, I am just trying to confirm what the consulate told me. Thanks for your guys's help.
  4. I know that service members are entitled to reimbersment of the fees, the only fee we are not getting back is the medical fee. I am just having trouble locating the regulation that covers it. I know i wont see the money until i leave germany, i am just wanting to read up on the regulation.

  5. my wife and i have our consulate appointment on monday and i have a question regarding the process and her polizei record check. first we have not recieved her record check from the polizei and it has been a month, will be still be able to submit the paperwork we do have and pay the 420$ fee and just return at a later appointment when we recieve the background check? or will they kick us back all together and have to submit everything as complete? is the filing fee a one time thing or will they make us pay each time? Do we have to have the DS-230 form done on the first interview, or is that a form that is filled out later? any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
