I am a current Permanent Resident Card holder (expiring 5/13/2012) who is renewing his card. I just received my I-797C notice to go to the ASC support center to capture my biometrics on the 28th, 12PM at USCIS Dover, Delaware.
The instructions say: bring this appointment notice and photo identification. My question is about the photo identification. It says "applicants must bring their Permanent Resident Card or government issued form of identification". Can I just show up with my current (but expiring on the 13th) Permanent Resident Card. I don't drive, so no license, and I have an expired People's Republic of China passport. If needed, I can go to the Chinese Embassy in Washington DC and renew my passport.
I called the 1-800-375-5283 number and the agent said "just follow the directions on the notice" and didn't comment further. I assume I can just show up for fingerprinting with just the appointment notice and my expired Permanent Resident Card.

My current Permanent Resident Card is a 10 year card, resident since March 2002, expiring May 13th, 2012. I am renewing the card, so if anyone has renewed their card, does the USCIS check for 2 forms of ID, or is just bringing your current Permanent Resident Card to the biometrics appointment enough?
