  1. If your annualized income meets the requirement then the other info in not needed. If you want to use your home then a recent valuation from a licensed appraiser is needed. Tax valuations are not acceptable.

For bank accounts, if needed, a few recent statements ought to be enough.

    Thank you !

My income in 2009 was slightly below the line, about 17,000. In the last two years, they are both above it, but not by too much.

That's why I want to show my condo value just to be safe.

There are taxable value, actual assessed value and market value in the form from the city.

The actual assessed value from the city is actually way blow the fair market value. My guess is the number would be higher if I get that from a licensed appraiser. But I would rather save the trouble if the actual assessed value from the city is sufficient.

It might be easier just providing the bank information. But is it ok if leave the real estate part blank ?

    Anyone has a better idea?

  2. Many thanks again to you Darnell ... for the link too!

My parents got married in 1976 and divorced in 1986. Within a month they remarried. Finally they got divorced in 2007.

Do you think it's ok if she gets the marriage license from 1976 and the divorce paper from 2007 notarized?

I mailed I-130 on 5/2/2012 and included my birth certificate which I acquired almost ten years ago right before I came to the US. It has my mother's name, but not her birthday information. I was afraid that it's not sufficient. But I received I-797C on 5/7/2012. I assume it's ok so far.

Is it true that the non-criminal record expires in a year and should be done the last minute?

Ryan's stuff is very helpful and I am going to use EP for sure...

  3. ya, take a few days to learn the process, and practice filling out the forms.

suggest you do EP at NVC - it shaves time later.

The DS-3032 will have to be filled out, yer NOT using the email template for FORM DATA.

Good Luck ! [find Ryan's topic - the steps will be the same for you]

    Hi Darnell,

    Thanks lot for the advice!

Do you mean I should NOT use the DS-3032 Template form? How should I email it then?

I am still learning every day. I can't find Ryan's topic you mentioned about? Could you send me the link ?

    Thanks again !

  4. Hi there,

I am filing for my mother. My parents divorced twice (remarried a few days later after the first divorce) and my mother doesn't have any of the papers other than the most recent divorce paper.

Does she need to have both the marriage and divorce certificates notorized ?

    Thank you very much !

P.S. How many copies of each document, such as divorce certificate and birth certificate,do we need for the whole application?

  5. What you'res suggesting is fine. Many people (petitioners) here send the DS-3032 on behalf of their spouse, either because their spouse doesn't have a computer (or know how to use it well enough) or due to language. As long as everything is correct in the email, NVC will accept it.

Since you're going through China, I highly suggest doing EP. The wiki (by Darnell) can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing

Thank you so much Saylin :)

I just started the process and all the info online is a little bit overwhelming to me.

I am going to study the link from you.

  6. Hi everyone,

I am a US citizen and I am petitioning for my mother to come to the US.

I've read about the template email form of DS-3032 on this website. My question is whether I can set up a new email address for my mother and then email it for her because she doesn't speak one word of English or own a computer. I know in this case it sounds like that she can communicate in English. Would that be a problem in the future?

    Thank you very much !
